  1. I worked on the R&D side of DoD contracting and this wasn't the case. At a certain level it's almost always grabbing someone from the outside or poaching competitors in a way that your CEO will have time at all the major players. Innovation and improvement usually comes from fresh perspectives and not the same staff. The fear is complacency and unfortunately I think we are right there. You don't want to end up like NE who was just void of outside influence and crashed post Brady.
  2. This part is maddening, the punter is worse, kicker was way worse, kick coverage was awful for a team that tries to force returns, and the punt coverage was very bad. The fake was poorly executed and he had to be involved in the too many men debacle.
  3. Jim Overdorf is maybe the most ridiculous person in franchise history. Beane talked about Whaley and the bad contracts that they had to get out from all while Jim was still there. To me it all goes back to Pegula's management hierarchy that doesn't work for the Bills or Sabres. The coach not working for the GM and the GM not controlling contracts is just a recipe for disaster.
  4. I agree, but Marcell Dareus wasn't far off. He was the best DT in football until Wrex had him in coverage.
  5. Are you saying that Stanford was bigger faster stronger or Michigan? Do we just discount his 4 years in SF or his time in Oakland?
  6. He took an awful Stanford team and had the largest upset in history against USC and then the most points scores against USC in history 2 years later. Pete Carroll left for the NFL after that and USC hasn't been a legitimate contender since. Legion of Boom was 11-18 or 19, so all 4 of his years. "If he didn't completely rebuild the Michigan program they wouldn't have a Championship" ftfy. He had a proven track record in a way we could only wish. You're trying to downplay how big this is for the Chargers, but the weapons they have are dangerous.
  7. Lol he basically ended USCs run in the PAC 12, went to the NFL and only managed 3 NFC championship games in 4 years in the same division as the legion of boom, then went to Michigan and remade the program.
  8. They split their regular season matchups and he owned him in college. The dude wins everywhere he goes and that's not debatable. They lost by 3 points lol did everyone just hallucinate? 3 NFC championships in 4 years is pretty good. Especially when you consider the Seahawks were monsters around that time.
  9. He doesn't have to build a team, he already starts with arguably the best QB he has ever had (Luck wasn't fully developed as a sophomore). That's huge.
  10. I mean we get some pretty sub-par safety play if Hyde is out. There is a very clear drop off when Rapp played in the backfield and not as a 3rd safety/lb. I'm not sure McD has show the ability to scheme around missing pieces like that yet.
  11. He is Shaq 2.0 and I don't honestly think that's a bad thing. He is an edge setter who does well against the run. Instead of fighting this they should be pushing to have those edges collapse the pocket and give Ed Oliver a chance. It's either that or have an Epenessa type who either gets home or is so far past the play that the QB can just roll out.
  12. I don't think this would work because they both play the same style and you need free safety not another SS. Rapp is a liability on every play because he just runs real hard with his head down and tries to torpedo the play like a 70s safety and that doesn't work anymore. I honestly don't understand what happened to Hamlin, he really wasn't that awful as a young safety when he had to start.
  13. The Bills didn't convert them to safety, Hyde was only a corner his rookie year, GB shifted him to safety after that which probably isn't that rare for a 5th round corner. Same thing for Poyer who was a backup CB for Chip Kelly that couldn't stay on the field and then got converted to safety in Cleveland after being cut. They are probably the best pickups we had under Whaley. While some people have floated the idea of converting Benford, neither of these guys ever performed as well as Benford at CB. Also, I think for those pushing for Elam it would make less sense as he specifically struggles with zone. I think there is a distinct difference between those two wives and their interaction with fans on social media lol. Poyer's wife has been talking about them leaving since the start.
  14. That fusion option has so many long term problems, its why I will never fault anyone pushing for a disk replacement. I've seen people worse off after fusion. Hopefully he has a healthy and pain free retirement.
  15. They did lose, and it was because of the unit he directly coaches. Just because he started going for it on 4th down post article doesn't make the first one not true. They will never win it all with him and it's because of him.
  16. They also ran off their very good and well respected WR coach.
  17. This might be the worst comparison on this board.
  18. Let's be honest, the Ravens would put 50 on this defense. We couldn't stop a bad KC offense and the Ravens are anything but.
  19. We are the Carolina Panthers with a better Cam Newton. Same overrated guy calling defensive plays. That team was absolute garbage that had a miracle run that got McD and Beane hired.
  20. Post article he actually started going for it on 4th down again. If just to prove it wrong.
  21. I'm still trying to figure out who evaluated Martin and decided he was good to go?
  22. Theo Epstein is the GM who built the Red Sox team that won and then went to Chicago and built that team.
  23. Next season they'll be lucky to field a competitive team with the cap. I feel like people are underestimating how over they are. Can he draft NFL too?
  24. Idk if those guys will be back early.
  25. He was right though...
