  1. And Damar is a very thoughtful gentleman!! He personally signed this jersey for my son in honor of his bar mitzvah (my son's volunteer project focused on encouraging people to learn CPR and Zach will make a donation to the American Heart Association)
  2. One of the best posts I've seen here - Thanks for the insightful "put things in proper perspective" post!
  3. He's done in Buffalo for sure - Unclear whether he'll coach again.
  4. One can hope Von comes back at just the right time: mid/late regular season + playoffs!
  5. Must read for Buffalo sports fans - Heartbreaking but also uplifting - A truly human story of dealing with adversity - Reminder that regardless of size of bank account, we all have our trials and tribulations. And on top of all that, it was beautifully written.
  6. I'd be curious to see (credited) drops as a percentage of targets or of targets minus catches and see how Gabe compares to other WRs. That would provide a better comparison across receivers although still flawed (e.g., no controlling for length of pass or difficulty of catch). But I agree with some others that he didn't quite pass eye test and seemingly regressed a bit, even considering various contributing factors.
  7. You raise some good points - We'll see!
  8. Hard to imagine that both Bills-KC and Bills-Bengals wouldn't be prime time - I'd expect at least one of those two.
  9. Agreed - I'd be shocked if that were true, but I guess anything is possible.
  10. Really well written and fairly closely tracks my views/emotions. I've come around to the general (fairly obvious) view that we were healthy early in the season and really clicking/on fire. Then we had major injuries and then weather and other awful circumstances toward the end of the season. Those myriad factors caused us to go from a great SB-caliber team to a good team that could barely beat the crippled Dolphins, etc. In contrast, the Bengals started the season like crap (also key injury to Chase) but are clearly hitting their stride now. So there's clearly a luck/timing aspect to being at your best late in the season. And think about the Chiefs - Mahomes injury may or may not be the reason they don't go all the way this year. I wouldn't be against letting Frazier go (not renewing his contract) - I just feel like we're not creative and flexible enough on D (and lack aggressiveness when desperately needed).
  11. Smart move! We honeymooned in NZ and had an amazing time there! Go Bills! LFG!
  12. My son said the same thing - The 1-2 inches predicted is at least 3+ here in Wyoming, OH
  13. Absolutely! Opportunity to teach tolerance in a way that the students can relate to. Excellent point.
  14. Love it! Also maybe we'll send his class real pizza (La Nova or Bocce) and Wings (Duffs)!
  15. O: Many folks will have great games, but if I had to pick two, I'd say Davis and Cook. On D, Elam and one or two on the line (Groot and Oliver)
  16. McKenzie/Davis and Elam. One of those three will surprise us (in a good way!).
  17. Totally hear ya! We're thinking about bringing in cookies on Monday (maybe buffaloes eating tigers?!).
  18. SO, my son wears this cap to school today here in Cincinnati - He is asked by a teacher to take off his hat (but does not ask the students wearing Bengals caps to take off theirs). Targeting my boy for rooting for his team?! WTF! I'm actually not that pissed but it would make a win on Sunday extra sweet!! GO BILLS!! Crush those lame tigers with a depleted offensive line!!
  19. And what in the world does "chop it up" mean (I'm the guy in the class that asks the question that others are too embarrassed to ask . . . : ) )?
  20. Very much agree - The concise summary of the game is that the offense won us the game but almost lost us the game!
  21. I think there's also more simple logic to the Balt/Cincy coin flip than many people realize: If Balt won vs Cincy in final week of the season, then if we had beat Cincy in week prior, Balt wins division and HFA in wild card round but if we lost to Cincy, Cincy wins division and gets HFA. If you assume the outcome of the Bills/Bengals is a coin flip or close to that, then a coin flip is the right decision to decide HFA if Balt had beat Cincy
  22. Josh and team are "must see" TV, esp. in playoffs!!
  23. I teach a class at the business school at UC on Monday nights (no class tonight b/c of MLK) - Next Monday's class will be real interesting! Students know I'm a huge Bills fan.
  24. Haven't gone through all the posts in this thread but to be clear, and it's pretty obvious, the offense almost lost us the game, not the defense. 7 points off strip sack/fumble recovery/TD, plus a lot points off INTs. The Beasley INT was good defense and a lucky bounce for the Phins. The offense had some amazingly good plays too but 7 sacks on Allen, fumble/TD, INTs are on the offense, of course. That side of the ball was incredibly feast or famine. And that's where we need to settle things down for the Bengals. The two bombs to Davis in the 4th were utterly devoid of situational awareness - Maybe one bomb but two was very stupid. Go Bills!!
