  1. I was out for dinner tonight in Cincy, and our server was at the game - He said Diggs got an Uber with Allen to go to the hospital - I thought it was just Diggs - Very cool in any event!!
  2. Extremely well articulated - Completely agree!
  3. Fair question - I considered not watching football anymore several years ago but realized I couldn't shake my decades of fanhood.
  4. Everyone can make their own decisions (including the professional players that decide to play for my enjoyment) - Just because I won't let my son play doesn't mean others will make the same decision (and it's obviously their decision). And some posters talk about risk and infer that not letting a child play football somehow suggests that they don't take any risks at all or something to that effect (hey, you can get killed crossing the street, right?). For me at least, it's deciding which risks are acceptable and which aren't. I play poker and downhill ski on some steep, "crazy" stuff, so maybe I'm a hypocrite but I am willing to take risks.
  5. My son will never play football because of CTE concerns, among others. Nothing to do with what happened last night.
  6. And I'd even take this a step further: The Bills players are obviously focused on their teammate and friend, and spending time with their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time - But it's naive to think that even the players aren't starting to wonder things like: When will we resume practice? Will we play NE as scheduled? etc. Basically, they are starting to think about when things might start getting back to "normal"- BUT that's not a slight in any way to D Hamlin. It's human nature and totally to be expected.
  7. First, prayers for Damar, his family and friends, and everyone else impacted by the horrific game last night. So awful! Re this thread, are teams allowed to unilaterally forfeit multiple games? I could see the Bills contemplating doing so, but is it against the rules?
  8. Such a huge game with so much hype and discussion - It's going to be a great game and I agree it is likely to be anxiety provoking. Two minor points that are a little under the radar: 1) This is like a playoff game with its implications and atmosphere - McD hasn't won a road playoff game - Let's end that streak tonight (so we likely won't need to play any actual road playoff games this year except for SB) and 2) These teams haven't played each other in ages - This game will be important for both teams as prep for when they are likely to face each other again later this month. GO BILLS!!
  9. I'm local too and not going (but hitting the tailgate at 4) - Go Bills!!
  10. We just need to go on a 5-game winning streak starting tomorrow!!
  11. True, also they may have wanted Josh to end on a good note with a TD pass. I wouldn't view that as running up the score to be obnoxious.
  12. Fields will be running for his life (and hopefully mostly contained). GO BILLS!!
  13. Wishing all who celebrate a Merry Christmas - Also wishing those in the greater Bflo area health and safety during the blizzard!! It's bitterly cold here in Cincy but nothing near the level that Bflo is dealing with. Go Bills - Crush Da Bears!!!!
  14. Do whatever it takes to win - I don't care who gets the ball. I do wonder though if a "less open" Diggs is a better target than a "more open" Davis or McKenzie? Who knows?
  15. That's nuts!! Weather for Cincy game should be good, though, with a chance of rain.
  16. I'm local but don't know the area too well. Montgomery Inn famous for ribs. OTR (Over the Rhine) area is great for bars/restaurants. Good casino (Hard Rock) downtown if you're into that (I'm a pretty big poker player, so FYI they have a nice poker room). I'm likely going to game with my 12 and 15 yr old kids . . .
  17. The actual temperature and crazy low wind chill, in and of itself, wouldn't be a reason to adjust the timing or location of the game. But blizzard/dangerous driving conditions in/around Chicago at the worst time, or even around Buffalo if impacts ability to travel to Chicago, could be a reason to adjust the game IMHO.
  18. You're right - We've been below average this year overall, and right about average for 2020 and 2021 (I checked the stats). I'm sure there are a lot of factors impacting the average. To my eye, the Bills D has generally been good this year in short yardage situations - Maybe 4th downs are an exception to that or that I'm focusing more on recent games?
  19. Fourth down stops are big plays for sure - Often similar in magnitude/implications as a turnover.
  20. Cool, haven't gotten mine yet
  21. Corollary to 1. above (obvious, of course): You are 1 of 8 teams left at (your) start of the tournament rather than 1 of 14 (also meaning need to win one less game) - That is a huge advantage!
  22. You do realize Josh threw 4 TD passes last night, correct? And for over 300 yards? I'm not saying it's ideal that he's our leading rusher, but he's also throwing alot of TD passes.
  23. Or in my case, playing tackle football in the snow in HS during "indoor" track and getting my jaw broken while trying to block for a German exchange student - Fun times!!
