I have lots of great memories as a Bills fan but one that jumps to mind was the when we came back against the Bengals. Watched it in a bar called Champs here in Atlanta. Had to harass the barman to switch one of the tvs to the Bills game (freaking Jacksonville game was been shown). When I finally got him to change the just before Fitz threw a pick 6 putting us down by 21. He kept making comments and had one of those smirks, so I reminded him that it's the Bills and you never count the Buffalo Bills out. He talked a little differently when we ended up thumping the Bengals 49-31.

Personally I don't care which qb it is. I just want that key positions to be our biggest weakness anymore. EJ seems to be really trying and putting in the effort. I hope it works out for him. That being said I just want a qb that can effectively do his job in Romans offense.

Is the DC coz you live in DC. If it is I can understand your scepticism on trying to just buy success. What Doug Whaley is doing though is different. We've kept an outstanding D intact so performance is proven. We've brought in a coach that has proven he can go deep in the playoffs with a sub-par QB (Sanchez). We've addressed most of the glaring holes predraft - the draft will help with some of the remaining ones. We've brought in a OC who shares the coaches mindset and has shown he can do it. Kool-Aid or not I'm drinking it and this year it actually looks and tastes pretty good.

I understand the purpose of the board is to discuss ideas. I also like Spikes and what he brought to the Bills, but Rex knows what he is doing when it comes to defense. If they only want him at a certain price tag then so be it. Hopefully Spikes gets the type of role that he is looking for, he deserves it, I just don't see it for him in Buffalo.

I'm not sure that we can really draw that conclusion. The "Pegula Factor" needs to be factored into things. Whaley's moves require a checkbook and a working pen. You also have playing the Patriots 2 a year has led to a lesser perception than team in other divisions. When the Pats play these other teams they typically win those games too. The AFC East is a tough division and looking at the free agency moves by the Jets Phins and us its going to be tough again next season.
