  1. Watkins will progress, by his third year we will look back at this discussion and laugh. 2 games to go - slowed by injuries - and he owns the franchise rookie record for receptions with Orton and EJ at QB.
  2. This is what strong leadership does. He's keeping the noise focused in one place and avoiding squabbling. Notice how the team talks about winning and losing as a team. Kyle Williams and the boys won't hear negatives about the O when they could easily be bragging about how they are carrying the team. Marrone is being a leader and is creating a winning culture in Buffalo. Notice how he does not hesitate to take the O's struggles on himself but does not claim the same level of responsibility for special teams and D. I know we all want to win the Superbowl but recognize how poorly the organization as a whole functioned before Whaley and Marrone.
  3. Hughes is having a great year but a lot of that is due to the ability of the other 3 guys. There may be concerns out there as to whether he ca do it without them. Remember Bryce Paups first year as a Bill.
  4. Franchise QBs are really hard to find, so they don't get shipped off twice to other teams. If the Bears deal Cutler its probably a sign that he's not the top tier QB that he's been billed as.
  5. I'm trying to read between the lines but are you saying that Orton is a QB who doesn't know how to throw a football?
  6. Have to laugh. Little did I realize when I opened this thread I'd be reading about odd beverage flavors
  7. 1. My 6th grader knows that you need a franchise QB to succeed in this league. 2. He could not sustain success, getting there and staying there is key. His Lions were known as undisciplined and self destructive and underachieved as a result. Pete Carroll needed to go back to the College level to succeed. He talks about this frequently Bill Belichick was actually a victim of the Browns moving to Baltimore and that team was on his way. Marv was just destined to be the Bills coach nuff said
  8. He's been great but a lot has to do with the talent of our front four. What I'm so impressed by is how much better we are against the run this year versus last year.
  9. Ha ha ha this is so true. He's far exceeded my expectations this year but you also have to look at the talent he has had to work with. When you see him on the sidelines he sure looks like he's having fun.
  10. I would agree with you on the health concerns, but that was a nice big play that he got hurt on this year. I like the big play ability that he does bring. If we need to scheme offensively to maximize his abilities why wouldn't you do that. Ray Rice is not that good anymore and I don't want that drama and garbage in our locker room.
  11. I'm surprised by Corey Graham being included. Preston Brown is having a heck of a rookie season and Mario is making some huge plays when we really need them. I don't get the love for Joe Thomas. Hughes took him to school when we played them and yet he is an automatic every year for the Pro Bowl.
  12. Why is it that Marrone get all the blame for the things that are wrong but none of the credit for what's going well? Our Defense was pretty good last year and Schwartz wasn't here. I don't understand the lack of credit that he gets for being the head coach of a team that is in playoff contention in late December.
  13. So so good to have a proper GM again. Look at the roster we're building. I thought losing Byrd would really hurt and it has, hurt the Saints that is :-) Whaley has an done an incredible job. They will get the missing pieces for the Offense. Lets Go Buffalo.
  14. We reached when we took EJ so high in the draft. He's a project and may turn out to be very good, only time will tell. What I saw this year is that he just wasn't ready. There have been some really great QB's that needed time. Steve Young come to mind, he doesn't talk much about his time in Tampa. Lets give the organization the right amount of time to get him ready or determine if he's not the answer. Putting him in the game when he will fail benefits no one. As tough as Orton is to watch at times we're winning more that we're losing.
  15. Hey that sunshine and peaches went really well with the defensive beat down we put on the Packers. You really should try some.
  16. If we get in this year it won't be a miracle, We will have earned it.
  17. Yes they are. Go back and read the comments had about the switch to Orton. He was not decisive, he was inaccurate, he did not demonstrate leadership. EJ only sees time this year if Orton is hurt.
  18. Eh I believe we are winning and in the playoff run with 2 games to go. Let's not be Cleveland and over think this thing. The last time we did that was to bench Flutie (the guy who got us there) and that hasn't worked out so well
  19. When was this? Not this year. This year I think was more like pass to JJ Watt for a td
  20. You got to love it. We are in playoff contention in Mid-December, we just beat the consensus #1 team in the power rankings and there's a thread as to whether our coach should be coach of the year. Seriously if people can't see improvement and change here then ....
  21. What if the Bills go into NE and handle them like we did the Packers?
  22. Steve Mariucci had him scoring 3 TDs - 2 passing. He also didn't give our D a chance. Just shows any chump can do that job.
  23. Mariota is a winner. The kid will have a long and successful career in the NFL. He reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson in terms of temperament and attitude. As Bill Tobin famously said “Who the hell is Mel Kiper?!, Mel Kiper has no more credentials to do what he’s doing than my neighbor, and my neighbor’s a postman.”
