Giants are releasing QB Daniel Jones (future backup to Josh Allen)
Sojourner replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given the way contracts are for QBs, what they ended up paying him and what would have been the salary for his fifth year option, they should have picked it up and have him play it out instead of putting Al their stock on even more hope he morphs into a top player at his position. -

Russell was over drafted, I put him in a separate class given he didn’t even play out his rookie contract. -

Im in the opposite camp. I actually give them credit for a completely bullish move on from Jones and the failings. Probably their best chance to show the Mara/Tisch ownership they made an egregious mistake hitching their wagon to the QB. Hopefully it comes out as to whom, ownership or Daboll/Schoen, was responsible for handing him that contract. -
TNF 🏈 Steelers vs Browns - 8:15pm ET on Prime Video

Tomlin didn’t miss a fg, fumble the football, fail two 4th down conversions and absolute shank a punt that only went 15 yards. Coaches take the flak way too much. The Steelers players lost this one themselves. -

Yeah man. Im a huge fan of the talent but the more I see of Pittsburgh, the more I see him seemingly whining and complaining when the camera is on him. -

That could have been a TD had Fields believed in the block. -

Wonder if the players enjoy it. Probably not. But back in HS, playing football in this weather was awesome. You knew you could get some hits as a defender. -

Feel bad for the dude but this feels more like obvious damage control to show the next team or any potential suitor that he’s a “team first” guy. Which I’m in no doubt he is. Watched the whole 10 minute conference he had its pretty definitive he’s been told his time is well and truly finished in New York. There’s talent there, just not enough to warrant the contract he got and continue to have patience for it to materialize on that team.

How many times have you watched Josh's run?

Millions. I count hurdles in my sleep! -
Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!
Sojourner replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, I don’t think people were wrong. They were concerned about him because he only managed to start 1 game out of a possible 6 that Milano or Edmunds missed. He wasn’t beating out Klein or Doson when 49 was out. His only start came with Edmunds. He was now going to be taking sole control of MLB responsibilities. Better yet, would we know what we have if Milano wasn’t oft-injured and Edmunds getting that big money offer that we wouldn’t match from Chicago? Probably not. Blessing in disguise not being able to retain 49. TB had the pedigree at Baylor to make you believe he has a place in the league, the forced opportunity just wasn’t there until 2023. Tremaine is a solid LB but 43 makes game changing plays. -
Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
Sojourner replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bingo. As nice as it would be, Quinn is doing more with less from a coaching standpoint. If he makes the playoffs he’s a lock imo. O’Connell is doing superb with Darnold but that team when you break it down is a quality roster. -
Well said. And honestly this is it perfectly for where I’m at. His situation right now is just analysis and a coaching perspective. Something he was top tier at. If he returns to football as a Head Coach then yes, he’ll revert to the tarnished image I have of him. One I haven’t lost, just merely set to the side given the lack of actual quality most football panels broadcast for us to digest over the recent years.

I hear you. I mean those international games are great for people in other countries but blow for fans attending here in the US. The fact this is the last year at the Rich/Ralph, all home games should be played there. I hate forcing a team to do it but it should exclusively be the Jaguars who lose home games. Shad Khan was a big supporter for multiple NFL games there. For those of us who made the trip to London last year know that the team actually has a decent fan base there. How many of them a true fans and not ones who just support them because they’re the home team? Who knows but the base of support is there. Let them continue to lose their home games. Actually, it should be reserved for the teams who are bottom. Kind of like the relegation the soccer leagues have. If you’re bottom in the standings then you have to play Jacksonville in London away 😂

I don’t know if you’ve ever been through a divorce but even short ones can be draining. This guy got divorced from his HC and separated from a woman he was with 20 years immediately after his marital divorce. Seems like he’s found a new, youthful joy to life. Im with @Einstein, enjoying Bill in any way was something I never thought I’d say but here we are. The man is very enjoyable for football talk. This podcast, Coach. The Breakdown with Peyton. Inside the NFL. Manningcast on MNF. And Pat McAfee’s show. If you’re a football fan he’s worth the watch/listen.

Oh definitely but not being able to run the ball, chew the clock or sustain a drive other than passing will do that to you. Imagine us if Josh wasn’t able to scramble or do magic with his legs?! 😂

After watching that Chargers game you hit it in the head. Thankfully they didn’t retain him cause I think him and Chase Brown would be a pretty solid duo for a backfield.
