  1. Yup. No Smith and the big guys inside better make the most of it.
  2. Hate to break it to you but the Pats aren’t mediocre man. Completely obliterated one of the best defenses in football whilst still getting wrecked behind the LOS.
  3. I throw Penix in there too. As wild and inconsistent as he can be he at least tries to stretch the defense vertically whether it’s successful or not. Cousins looks timid and unwilling to make the attempt. One of the few times keeping Lamar in there makes sense given he’s coming off the injury. As much live action to get reacclimatized won’t hurt that football team.
  4. Because those players like Justice Hill and Kolar are elite. It’s only ever a personnel issue and not a coaching X’s and O’s.
  5. Must be those Pittsburgh boys. Kelly was the same for a while in his career.
  6. Achane on a lot of other teams would become a serious problem.
  7. Oh well the ship sailed. Tickets are sold out. https://bfloshop.com/products/jimkellyticket Thanks either way @thenorthremembers
  8. That is the consensus with most Steeler fans. The other side of them are like most of us here… If they can a coach who’s proven to win regardless of circumstances and lead the team to the playoffs, do you take a step backwards. The big difference is the Steelers have no QB for the future.
  9. Offense, Coleman. Yes I said it lol Defensively? Walker, Hoecht or Hairston.
  10. Good call but if they Falcons roll out Cousins again I don’t see them winning. Dude looks a shell of himself.
  11. If the defensive line plays like they did, specifically Hoecht and KC don’t have Trey Smith and Josh Simmons I can’t see them being up more than one score in this game.
  12. I won’t disagree there is some issues. He’s missed some prospects including, like the post you quoted said, 3 drafts in their entirety. That is no doubt held against him. issues draftin? Every GM has them. Be it early, mid or late rounders. Positions or need or continuous depth. Sometimes teams draft busts or underperforming players. With Beane there have been 64 players selected within the draft, 37 of those players have contributed to the Bills going 82-40; 81-36 with Josh as the starter. That has to account for something. Revert back to Josh and he secured us an all time talent at the most important position. Now, the offense should be addressed more for absolute blue chip talent than they swung for defense. Something I will never disagree upon but again, the free agent signings are more of a concern to me than the drafting when looking at the broader perspective of his roles as GM. That’s where you pay the money. You’re not wrong and I’m not alluding to such. I just feel a lot of people look at the totality through a very narrow scope.
  13. Don’t like them purely for the fact we lose to them in the playoffs. Hate? Eh. It’s a sport, I’m not wasting my time getting caught up on negativity because we’ve fallen short to the better team on a few occasions. Theyre akin to the Patriots. A team that’s winning more often than not. Only way to change that is do and be better when it matters.
  14. The drafting isn’t bad. If you look at the 8 drafts only 3 have been poor: 2020, 2021 and 2022. The FA signings have been poorer than the drafting, at least to me. Out of the 5 decent drafts a lot of them have shown to be adequate players in the league. Sure Josh is the main reason for success but it’s a team sport. You don’t stumble into 10+ wins without some talent across the board. It’s easy to focus on the 30% of duds. Even more so when they’re early picks. It’s is a problem but drafting as a whole hasn’t set the franchise and team as far back as you’re envisioning in my opinion.
  15. Depends, is he catching an INT? 🥸
  16. That’s not bad. Got my son and I tickets for the game at $258 a piece. Nosebleeds though; 332. Good luck with the selling brother!
  17. Whilst I do see it as a stretch he is certainly on his way to easily being one of the top 10 if not 5 guys come the end of the year. The difference there is they actually have a defense and a coaching staff putting the offense in the best positions to win a game. Not to go off the topic of this thread as there is one that appertains to Brady but I do feel he’s not the best. For all the talk of this regime and years prior riding the coattails of Josh and a certain amount of personnel issues in the receiving department, that’s exactly what Joe Brady has done. I think a better OC makes things more efficient in the passing game. New England’s receivers aren’t that much better than the group of guys we have. We face man around 40% of the time. The majority is still zone. You can scheme guys open against both but find more success doing so against zone. Still, given it’s a 3 to 2 ratio the results should be better.
  18. So do we think there will many moves after this weekends games leading into the final day of the trade deadline? Do teams wait until the prices go higher for teams desperate for a player/position? teams waiting to see if their season has a final nail in the coffin? or both?
  19. Well deserved. Short sample size given the injury last year but when he’s out there he’s making plays or causing disruption.
  20. Does a 15 year old make these videos… WTF did I watch? That’s the official account too. Like, not to be a negative Nancy but again; WTF. WITAF…. Now the whole carpentry/woodworking social media video makes sense. Absolute nonsense.
  21. (2024. 1st: 28)
  22. Never understood the Gabe hate. 4th rounder. Nothing flashy. Produced some decent moments in the regular season. Balled out in that 13 seconds game. Some of the guys we’ve all been guilty of gushing over in the yesteryears don’t even sniff Gabe’s jockstrap. I think 13 has a chance to help us out if he is healthy and am not going to doubt him. Go Gabe!
  23. Yeah my money is on the Steelers. The aggressive move they made to acquire a safety immediately after finding out Elliot would be injured is a sign they know they have to start gaining control of their team and change the direction as Baltimore and Cinci are still in the race for that division after the GB loss. Meyers isn’t going to hurt them financially, they have a surplus of draft picks next year and they aren’t looking for a #1 guy but rather a complimentary piece to DK. Bet this deal gets done within the next 48.
  24. Took a while because the front office focused on building defense. That Pats draft last year was all offense. 8 draft picks, only one spent on defense; a CB in the 6th round. 16 FA signings in the same year were geared to address the receiving core and offensive line. This year? Their first 4 picks in the draft were dedicated to the offense. An OT, Center, RB & WR. 5 of their 11 were offense. (5O/5D/5ST) 15 signings in FA to the offense. Now to note, a lot of the signings aren’t key players or have been cut but the attempt is there. They saw they had a potential franchise guy and seemed to go after talent to put around him in the draft immediately the following year. You’re now seeing the fruition of it. Vrabel and Bellichick being defense guys makes more sense… if you’re a guru or aficionado at something, you shouldn’t need the best ingredients to make it work. Seems like the right thing to do. Draft offense. Buy proven defense.
