I think that's unfair to Allen. Can he play better? Sure, you can say that about every player on every team though. Big picture is we rarely look at any game this season and say, man our QB really didn't show up today and was part of the problem. Last year, we could legitimately make a case that Allen held us back in some games. That's really not the case this year. I don't think that's Bills fans being homers.

The line moved a lot for those games I think. At least Arizona did from like 4.5 to 6. Where did you get Arizona?

WR Jake Kumerow Active on Sunday

Gabe Davis in the dog house? Consecutive weeks with miscues. I hope that is not the case. I like that Davis as a rookie has at least been in position often to make catches in the end zone. John Brown still not fully healthy? Will we be sitting an extra TE? -
Very small miscues can completely change the tone of a player and teams season. Just look at the last two wins All and the Bills squeaked out. Jets Game Gabe Davis- lines up incorrectly negates TD pass Kroft- Stumbles over his own feet, negates TD pass Patriots Game Gabe Davis- game sealing TD pass goes through his hands. The Bills still won both of these games. Allen still played well in both of these games. But if these three plays end in TD's which is more likely than not if they were played 10 times each then the narrative on the Bills and Allen is quite a bit different over the last two games.

Your Buffalo Bills Linebackers

Agreed. Until those 4th downs are 4th and 8 on our own 35 yard line. -
Agreed. I'd actually put the Titans fourth behind KC, Steelers and Ravens. I'm convinced if we play them 10 times, only once does the game end a blow out not in our favor. The majority of games would be much closer with the offense not shooting themselves in the foot every other play and to start the game. Also, throw out our game and they could literally be anywhere from 1-6 to 5-2 right now. All of their games were close except for the Bengals and Bills game. One a convincing win and the other a convincing loss. Great... Miami will win then. When ever someone feels pretty good about something I figure the opposite will happen.

Hold them to no better than TD's on 50% of their red zone trips. If we can do that we will have a shot to win. It seems the last four weeks we are letting teams score TD's at a 90% clip in the red zone. Maybe even greater.

Josh Allen career QB rating's with each season broken down into halves: 2018- Games 1-6: 61.8 2018- Games 7-12: 72.6 2019- Games 1-8: 82.9 2019- Games 9-15: 88.8 2020- Games 1-8: 102.4 I wouldn't put it past him and it's not impossible to better a 102 QB rating but the streak of improvement might finally end over the next 8 games. Hat's off to Josh though. He came into the NFL as possibly the most raw and not ready for the NFL QB ever picked in the top 10 of the draft. He's put a lot of work in.

Best single play in Bills history
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know about current best ever but looking to the future it is hard to believe it won't eventually be some ridiculous thing Allen does to win a big game. -
Didn't they have the worst pass defense in the league when he was playing?
-
I think you either are or you are not. I get what you are trying to say but I just wouldn't put the two words together. I think we were all done with him around half time of the Jets game. Luckily he came around. I still don't know that I trust him though. He hasn't cost us a game at the end yet so there is that.

His problem is he doesn't have an elite skill or talent. If he was turning the ball over a ton but had elite athleticism, or elite arm strength or elite size then he could be worth giving some extra time to develop. But he's fairly ordinary which means his ceiling is fairly low.
