  1. They're also a really good team since Tannehill has taken over. One of the best in the league over that time period. What was not excusable was how we pretty much didn't even show up.
  2. Honestly I don't think it matter much. On the other hand you could say if you just kick the PAT there then when you do eventually score another TD and go for 2 to cut it either to a 3pt game or tie it up you really have the opposing defense on their heels and without any moment because by this point you would have scored at least two straight TD's to get back into the game.
  3. Comparing their rookie years Allen was still better by a landslide when you consider how dominant he was with his legs. Throw in Allen's massive potential and EJ's lack there of and it's of course obvious why Allen was given a full second year. So I do think the huge difference in rushing as well as Allen's arm talent alone were enough to give Allen more time. At least EJ didn't get the Josh Rosen treatment.
  4. Oh wow. I guess I stand corrected. Can't believe he still loves Peterman so much though. I got to give it to Peterman he's really good in practice and pre-season.
  5. Allen had a 69.4 QBR for the game and a 77 passer rating. That basically confirms what all our eyes saw watching the game. Allen played well enough to win if we didn't have an atrocious defense and offensive players dropping balls and committing penalties every other play. 69.4 QBR is not elite like Allen's first four games but it's well above league average. 77 passer rating of course is garbage but the difference just shows how much Allen was let down by the team as a whole. Allen is not without fault because his second pick was costly. Could have at least cut the game to 21-13 on that drive with a FG. But with the way the defense was playing doesn't feel like it would have mattered.
  6. Unfortunately for EJ, Gruden was not back in the league yet with the Raiders. Or he might still be on the Raiders roster. He's like a better version Peterpick.
  7. And had negative rushing yards last week. He really hasn't run at all this year since the Jets game. I am fine with it as long as it doesn't get coached out of him and he still uses it at the right times.
  8. QBR would suggest it was an above average game at 69. Heck, even a good game. We can poo poo QBR (though i think it is a good stat,) but I think it has meaning with this game because it re-affirms what most of us saw with our own two eyes. Lot's of drops by the receivers and penalties putting us behind the eight ball.
  9. But 6/6 in the red zone? Hold them to 50% or heck at least 66%.
  10. Did Clowney have any impact at all tonight for the Titans? I totally forgot he was on their team until the second half. He got a decent rush on Allen but Allen still converted a pass for the first down. Box score says he had two PD's. But I don't recall any batted balls at the line. Even more annoying is the media's mind being blown that these guys could somehow come out after a bye week with tons of time to watch film on their opponent, healthy and ready to go. I mean weren't they sitting on their couch eating lays potato chips and watching Netflix for two straight weeks?
  11. I'd give him a look just for his pass catching abilities. I'm beginning to doubt any back can run in this offense. But Bell could be an upgrade over Motor and Moss in the passing game.
  12. I just wanted him above 60 percent. Thought he could be a franchise guy like Newton was early in his career. Newton was always a 58-60% passer even in his MVP season. At this point I think it's almost impossible for him to dip below 65% based on what I've seen out of him. I mean he was 63% tonight without his second best receiver. He had how many drops at least 6 probably? If half of those go for completions he's over 70% for the game. I'm looking forward to the New England game because that one will really tell us a lot. Will he have one of those 50% completion games? Even more concerning with Allen playing so well taking the top off the defenses this year you would figure things would open up in the run game. Our pass blocking is terrific though. It's like our guys only practice the pass blocking.
  13. I totally agree on the Titans being a legit team and this not being a cakewalk. But the problem is this turned into a cakewalk for the Titans. I would have at least wanted to see a one score game which is what I thought we would get.
  14. Agreed. I recall Herbert forcing a ball to Mike Williams in double or triple coverage last night and big Mike came down with it I think to set them up for what should have been the game winning field goal. Diggs isn't as big as Williams but he is still great at making contested catches. But it was an odd game plan. Most everything short within 10-15 yards and Beasley sees zero targets in the first half and then goes off in the second half. Very different from what we saw in the first four games.
  15. To the bolded, too many penalties and not great in the run game although in their defense we barley tried to run much in this game since we were down big for most of it. But when we did try to run it wasn't pretty. I think Davis continues to shine as a rookie. Don't remember if he had a drop or not (feels like every receiver had at least one in this game) but he had some nice grabs including the called back TD. I think Davis also had a penalty too though.
  16. Our running game is straight up garbage. Has been all year but I'm not sure if it is the fault of our backs, our line, or the play design and play calling. I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on him but as others have said seems like the anti-process guy. Could he be a really good threat as a receiver here? That is what I would want to know because I don't think anyone is running for meaningful yards in our offense.
  17. Even three their would have been big which i think they were in range for. And of course, the huge return wouldn't have happened either. The other thing I noticed about tonight's game vs the first four games is that it was lot more dink and dunk. Probably a combination of Brown being out and what the Titans were doing defensively. They got two weeks to study film after all. That fourth quarter TD drive took way too much time off the clock but that was the offense we were utilizing tonight.
  18. I think C - C+ range is fair. Josh was far from the problem tonight. Zero run game. Pretty sure about half is incompletions in the first half were drops including the INT. As good as Diggs was most this game he at least had two drops himself. Penalties galore by every offensive personnel not numbered 17. The costly pick second half pick when we were in scoring range drops his grade at least an entire letter grade alone. So looking at around a B before the pick which I think was fair considering everyone else playing with their heads up their butts. Also, a little more confirmation on Allen having a C - C+ type game, just look at his QBR vs. passer rating. His passer rating of 77 would suggest a D level game. But when you factor in game circumstances his QBR was 69 which is above average.
  19. Phillips and Lawson are both badly missed. They were a good duo last year and the vocal leaders of the defense.
  20. On the bright side we get the Jets after the Chiefs so worst case scenario we know it will only be a two game losing streak. Still sucks.
  21. Unsure if this is good or bad for my fantasy team. Will file it in the "will see" category for now.
  22. I get that. But someone has to be game planned to stop him after that. Blaming it on Hughes doesn't make sense to me. We are playing a mobile QB not Tom Brady or Drew Brees. Nobody close enough had eyes on the QB and we had at least two linebackers near the line I believe. Tannehill can break containment on Hughes all day if he wants to.
  23. Defensive end is supposed to spy the QB? If we are running a defense that relies on our defensive ends to always contain the QB that is a bad game plan. Who has secondary containment? Usually a linebacker or someone playing in the flat. A DE the size of Huges vs a mobile QB like Tannehill is not contest.
