  1. The play last week by Diggs against the Rams with zero separation was simply amazing. I'm still not sure how he saw the ball or how he caught it.
  2. I think it is reasonable to have some pause when it comes to Jackson when we take into account how both Kaepernick and Tyrod played early in their careers under Roman. Jackson is a superior athlete than both Tyrod and Kaepernick so I see him having more lasting success. Question still remains if that means he will be a top 5 type franchise QB or if he will ultimately end up more like a top 10-15 QB.
  3. Lamar Jackson is 4-5 in his career including playoffs in games where he attempts 28 or more passes a game. He is 17-1 when he attempts fewer than 28 passes. Josh Allen is 8-10 in his career including playoffs attempting 28 or more passes in a game. But he is on a clear upward trend with that stat. And like his career as a whole so far he has improved in each season. 2018- 0-5 attempting 28 or more passes 2019- 5-5 attempting 28 or more passes 2020- 3-0 attempting 28 or more passes
  4. You seemed to skip right over the main point of my reply Thurman which was that basically McDermott is unfairly criticized for passing on Mahomes regardless of how either Allen or Mahomes careers turn out. And second, with all due respect to Tre White he doesn't play a role in the debate IMO.
  5. I agree with this but I think it also under states the qualities of Allen that set him apart. Allen's energy is contagious, and his athletic ability is next level. Those are two things that can really help a young QB on a bad team. We saw all those things in Allen's first year when the supporting cast around him was still really bad. Jets fans like to say Allen would be just like Darnold if they had switched teams. That's simply not true.
  6. Nah, this could be the classic "team rally's behind the back-up" game. That said, I was definitely taking New England and the points. In this game. Now I might just pass on it if it is played this week.
  7. Fortunately this is one of those good problems to have. I'd love for him to stick around like McDaniels has in New England, but that was only because McDaniels came back after failing as a head coach in his first attempt. And now he is almost certainly just waiting for Belicheck to retire.
  8. When can a player officially return from quarantine and be eligible to play again? Newton is the first high profile player that may miss a game. He is certainly out for a game Monday or Tuesday but could he be eligible for a game next Sunday if he tests negative the day before the game?
  9. I think that is exactly it. If spread is shown through either locker room they will postpone the game till a later week in the season just like they did with the Titans-Steelers game.
  10. That Thursday night game is still doable IMO. Not ideal for the Chiefs but not a deal breaker.
  11. If this thing starts to spiral out of control with a 2-3 teams being infected and shut down each week but not the majority of teams then I think the thing that makes the most sense to me is to add a couple weeks to the end of the season for make up regular season games. The start of the playoffs would be pushed back 2 or 3 weeks. The ending of the season would be odd because half the teams might end on the originally scheduled date while the other half might have another 1 or 2 games to finish out the season. The other option would be to do a massive postponement like the NBA did and pick games back up early in the year 2021. This would also likely include a shortening of the regular season to like 10 or 12 games. But I would much prefer the first option.
  12. Yeah I agree. I think the NFL's threshold for shut down is spread through a team to either players or staff. So it will depend on what the tests show tomorrow morning before Sunday nights game. Assuming they test everyone again tomorrow because they initially said they would not test on game days.
  13. Wouldn't think so with it being less than 48 hours till game time if we look at how they handled the Titans situation. The NFL cancelled the Titans-Steelers game with like 4 or 5 days till kick off and the Titans are still having new players and staff test positive for Covid some 4 or 5 days after the initial positives. That said, I think it really depends on if spread is shown. Which would mean another player or staff would have to test positive between now and tomorrow morning. The NFL doesn't test on Sunday mornings but I would assume they make an exception to that rule if a player has tested positive a day prior. But given how Titans players and staff are testing positive 4-5 days after initial breakout I would assume negative tests from all other Patriots players and staff today and tomorrow morning does not necessarily mean they are not carriers.
  14. It's still too early to answer this question. Mahomes very well may go down as the GOAT when it is all said and done. Which as a Bills fan, I'd love to see him take that tile away from Brady. Honsestly, because the QB position far outweighs the all other positions in importance, even premium positions like edge rusher and CB, I think ultimately and with all due respect to Tre, White is irrelevant to the discussion. Tre will not be a top 5 CB in the league 10 years from now. Both Mahomes and Allen could be the two best QB's in the league 10 years from now and possibly even 15 years from now. Either of the QB's or both could be the best in the league for 10-12 straight years. White could be the best for a few seasons and very good for a few more. A HOF career even is possible for White but the difference in hitting on a HOF QB vs a HOF CB is huge. The good part is, based on the development we have seen from Allen thus far, I wouldn't say the kid can't achieve whatever level of success he pushes himself towards. Assigning blame to McDermott for passing on Mahomes I feel has always been silly. We didn't have a GM with Whaley having one leg out the door already. I think we went into that draft 100% knowing the plan would be to not draft a QB early that year. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was pretty much decided and agreed upon during his interview process before his official hire. In the end it looks like Beane and McDermott selecting Allen could end up being rated as one of the all time greatest draft picks in terms of scouting a player that had so much against him in turning into an elite franchise QB. The other thing helping the Chiefs is that they don't exactly have a bad defense. And that is ultimately how the trade is graded. Which is the better overall team? Even if Tre is an all-pro this year again it doesn't mean much if the Chiefs have the better defense. Let's hope our defense gets out of this funk they are in but right now the Chiefs defense is one of the better and more underrated units in the league.
  15. I agree. But I am talking more when the offense stalls and Allen hasn't used his legs in like three or four straight series. And not necessarily called Allen runs. The Jets game was way overkill. Especially that first half.
  16. Am I in the minority in wanting to see Allen use his legs more in this game? The Jets game was a bit overkill with the running. But these last two games Allen has barley used his legs at all. Which was fine when we were scoring. But that second half of the Rams game felt like it was begging for a couple Allen runs to get the chains moving and stop the 29-0 run the Rams went on. I live in Bakersfield. But grew up in SLO county. Having lived in the valley now for about 8 years I LOVE that Josh is "valley grown".
  17. I'd have Wilson as the clear number one based on his defense being so bad. They've needed all of his TD's to win for the most part (similar to Allen). And SOS wise ATL, DAL, NE is a little tougher than NYJ, MIA, LAR. The other three could really go in any order but for arguments sake I'll put Allen at #2 for similar reasons as Wilson at #1. Our defense unfortunately has not been good this year and Allen has not been supported by a league leading rushing attack (like in Green Bay).
  18. And in other news, I heard Mike Sando who is known for his QB ranking tiers on one of the sports talk shows yesterday. He seemed to be treading lightly still with regards to Allen. He still had a lot of concerns about turnovers popping up down the road it sounded like. Not sure if he has come out with his updated tier yet but I'll be interested to see where he has Allen when he does release them.
  19. I never saw his JucCo film. And I have to believe his production at Wyoming held a lot more weight in his evaluation. Running threat? Yes. But I never thought he'd put up the greatest 6 game rushing performance the NFL had seen from a QB in his rookie year. Since surpassed by Lamar in 2019. Josh Allen has nearly developed into the total package as a QB. The arm of Mahomes, Body of Cam, rushing threat of Lamar. He's close to that unicorn.
  20. Nice. Was never in doubt really after the Miami game. Mahomes made a late charge but Allen would have basically had to put up a near goose egg to not win it.
  21. It wasn't shown as consistently in college, for whatever reason. And he's been better in the PROS is what I am getting at. As a rookie he put up the best rushing season since Mike Vick, until Jackson had his season last year. Nobody saw that coming.
  22. He's some how more of an athlete and bigger running threat at the next level than he was in college. I think most everyone missed on that. It's rare a guy becomes a scarier runner at the next level. I certainly didn't know he was this athletic where as we all knew Cam, Jackson and Murray were super athletes coming out.
