  1. It looks like we need to be prepared for a lot on no huddle against the Saints. Get ready! They are the 2nd highest at 29.4% no huddle, so it will be a different pace. (Washington is a whopping 60%!) .
  2. I had to look it up, and was surprised that Kamara is “only” 30. It just feels like he’s been around forever.
  3. Oh, this brings back a memory of sitting around the dining table in Hamburg when the season tickets arrived. I was the youngest of three, and my older sister by 8 years insisted on going to the Raiders game. They were the hot ticket, and I got shouted down. I may wait until 2am to call and say hello, how are things, and do you remember that game?
  4. That’s south of there I think, but not immediate to the other stuff. That’s not a place I’d be recommending, but my knowledge is limited to one trip there maybe 30 years ago. We’ve lived here full time and gone downtown regularly for 15 years now and don’t even know if it still exists or where I’d look for it. If it’s there, it’s easy to avoid. EDIT: If you see the Underground Atlanta name and think it sounds familiar, I would advise looking into it a bit first. You don’t want to go to what it used to be. .
  5. It’s not something I would have done on my own, but I took a friend who was in town and interested. It was actually better than I expected, and at the end they have a taste testing thing with countless Coke flavors, many of which are not available to us here. That was pretty cool. Anything Coke related in ATL is a big deal. The World of Coke is right by the Aquarium. Aquariums are something I generally avoid, but that was another pleasant surprise. The Atlanta History Center is not downtown (it’s just north in the heart of Buckhead) and that was much more interesting than I expected. I didn’t realize Lincoln was not going to get the party nomination for reelection until Sherman took Atlanta, stopped the train supplies to Confederate troops and the powers that be said why pick a guy to settle this thing, we could actually win it! EDIT: Our son was able to get an interview to interview with a top guy at Coke for an internship one year in college. The guy he interviewed with basically said “don’t get your hope up, we are a global company, and our interns reflect that. Last year our department had about a dozen interns, and only one was a white male from the US,” Interesting. Our son also said that everybody working there looked miserable, but I’m sure that was just a first impression. (Maybe.) . .
  6. It’s not in a bad part of the city. It’s by the convention center, World of Coke, CNN Center, State Farm Arena, the Georgia Aquarium (which is surprisingly cool), College Football HOF, etc. You don’t want to wander too far off (especially to the south) if you don’t know here you are going, but it’s not like the Braves old stadium in the heart of the ‘hood. I think people will feel quite safe around the stadium, especially on a game day. Odd side note, on my way to my grocery store (just over one mile) I can look right and see the Falcon’s dome downtown, or look left and see The Battery where the Braves play. If you are looking to kill some time in Atlanta and want to see a cool mixed use development that works, check out The Battery. https://batteryatl.com In addition to the Braves stadium, there are restaurants, huge bars with all kinds of entertainment, several hotels and theaters, apartments, offices, etc. It’s even better when the Braves are not playing because it’s less crowded. .
  7. Well, nothing is perfect, I suppose.
  8. Chik Fil A is an Atlanta company and being closed for a few Sunday Falcons games is no big deal. They don’t need the revenue from Sunday stadium sales, it’s almost like a highway billboard that gets awareness with no directly attributed sales. The stadium does SO MUCH more than the Falcons. If you don’t live here you probably wouldn’t realize. here is what a quick search found. AI Overview Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts 40–50 major events and approximately 250 private events per year, in addition to its regular schedule of Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta United (MLS) games. A full event schedule is available on the official Mercedes-Benz Stadium website, showcasing concerts, major sporting events like college football championships and the Peach Bowl, and more. Atlanta United FC alone plays 17 home games there every year. All kinds on national college football games are played there as well, in addition to stuff you’d never dream of. .
  9. That’s only if you can get to the front of the line. I gave up a couple times a few years ago, I wasn’t willing to miss football over a cheap hot dog. Hopefully they have worked about the kinks (and the wait wasn’t planned). The energy there for soccer is amazing. Much better than for the Falcons from my experience. Every now and then a see a decal or a hat that reminds me this is the home of the Falcons and not just College Football HQ.
  10. That’s really something to be proud of….or she was just a skank. Congrats. I remember you bragging about that.
  11. I love the energy of being at the games live, but it is a better viewing experience at home. That could be improved, if the NFL cared about the people in the seats.
  12. Suzy Kolber had no idea what she was missing out on. Live and learn, girl.
  13. Happy Birthday to you!
  14. He could be Tremaine’s father, for goodness sakes!
  15. Golic & Golic (or whatever it’s called) just had an interview with Notah Begay that was pretty entertaining. They wanted to know how far the New York hecklers could go, and were told it’s a giant gray area, so we will see. They got my interest for sure. .
  16. The original title was When The Levee Funds Are Diverted, but it just wasn’t catchy enough. Yes, I’m afraid it was too soon, but I’ve probably locked in my next destination by now.
  17. Somehow, somebody had better views closer to the action. I’m sure it was still delayed, but at least they knew ho had the ball! It was a crazy game to this little kid. Good memories.
  18. His agent explained it was just a bad connection. He’d like one more shot at a commission.
  19. You just pause the game in the stadium for a few seconds and let the radio catch up. Duh. I thought everyone knew that. I remember listening to transistor radios at the Rockpile. Some times (like a Bengals game I remember) the radio was the only way to know what was going on because it was snowing so hard. We couldn’t see a thing in the whiteout at times!
  20. I thought the same thing, until I considered how irrelevant the Cowboys have been for several decades on the football field, yet they are the highest valued team. It’s a lot of different factors.
  21. Tell the truth, you’re going to hit him up for a loan, aren’t you? Happy BDay, young man. Be wise with your money. That tidbit is my gift to you.
  22. Jim Leonhard was 5’8” and played a decade in the NFL as a DB because he was smart and he could process better than the guys who were exceptional athletes. Measurables are easier to judge than processing speed and heart. You need the proper blend.
  23. How about you be their new HC at $10 MIL/YR? That guy hasn’t won anything in forever. You have a good record here, I’m sure you’d nail that job. Let me know if you need references, I will be your greatest admirer.
  24. I’m only talking about very long kicks, which don’t even have to be made to earn points.
  25. It would affect ST because you’d want to have a guy back there to prevent that generally (I think?), but what does that open you up to? I think of that as a CFL Power Play if they put a man back to avoid that point. Do they have an empty net play as well? Maybe put a Safety in snow shoes? We do that sometimes! I kid, I love our neighbors living in our attic. Kathleen Madigan does a very funny bit on that. I seem to recall the Chiefs used to put a super tall guy who could really jump back at the goalposts on long FGAs. Anyone else remember that?
