  1. I guess my foot wedge is probably going to face some scrutiny as well.
  2. I went to a September game in Jacksonville about 20 years ago. I remember paying $250/seat and realizing we were the only people left in our row. It was so hot the Bills were rotating the OLine. We had to join everyone else in the concourse and watch the game on little monitors behind the concession stands. After that I turned down free tickets in September in Florida.
  3. James Worthy would be great, if we were having a pickup game of hoops. But Coleman played hoops for Michigan St, so he’s no slouch there!
  4. The good news is, once we suck again the prices will come down. Wait……
  5. Apparently he skipped over the long list of WR’s above who had nice NFL careers with similar 40 times. I’m not saying he’ll be great, but I certainly want to see it play out before condemning the player and the front office. But some people just don’t have that patience. To your original questions. 1) Maybe 2) Maybe, because we invested in something else/different that needs time to develop. We have not yet seen 2024/2025 play out. Apparently I lack your psychic powers. You are welcome to your opinions, but that’s all they are. This is tiresome, so I’m done here. .
  6. I’m not at practice every day or in the locker room. That is their job, and it turns out they were right - Shakir is pretty darn good. Everybody wants to second guess, but without having the same knowledge our FO has. We have plenty of slot candidates, and they felt they needed a different body/style of player. Will it be perfect? Probably not. Will it be good enough? Hopefully.
  7. If we didn’t extend him. Drafting McConkey would be like replacing him. Extending b him early usually saves some money for the team.
  8. Time will tell, but Shakir was already on the roster and one of our better players on offense. If you let him walk, you are just creating an hole to fill and hoping McConkey turns out to be as good or a bit better. We hope our guys develop and earn a second contract, and that’s what happened here. BTW - We see a lot of UGA football and I was a big McConkey fan. I just didn’t know how he would make sense for the Bills.
  9. That was the first two years of my marriage. My bride asked me “Why do you do this to yourself?” Now she wears a Bills shirt that says “I Married Into This.”
  10. They will disappear into the woodwork until he has a bad game or drops a key pass. Then they will be back in force. I’m hoping for noticeable improvement. Time will tell.
  11. I’m afraid there are limits.
  12. Maybe the poll should be - if they were both equal price, which would you choose? I like to chew on a nice piece of steak every now and then.
  13. I had had both steaks and burgers before, but I have very different memories of the first ones that got my attention. I vividly remember both events. My first hamburger memory is my oldest sister taking me at a McDonalds way back when. It was on Transit Road, and I loved the chocolate milkshake and the fries, and I remember I enjoyed the burger as well. The first mentionable steak was after my 8th grade on a trip to Acapulco. It was in the swankiest restaurant I had ever seen, located in our hotel. It was a NY Strip with an au poivre sauce that blew me away. That steak was one of this kids highlights of going to Mexico. That, and the local kid on the way to the cliff diving who asked if I wanted to “rent” his sister in the middle of everything. That still sticks with me. We have it pretty good here.
  14. Oh my! I miss a good prime rib. They used to have it at the brunch where we lived, and that and a Bloody Mary (or two max) made for a fine Sunday morning with the family. It’s been at least 15 years since I’ve had that pleasure. My habits have changed over the years, less red meat and beer, but more wine and fish.
  15. There is a time and a place for both. We don’t eat much red meat, but when we do it’s a treat. I had a new burger this week just added to the lunch menu at a regular place I go. They have “specialty burgers” for $15-$18, but they added a simple single patty with tomato, red onion and pickles plus fries for $9.95. That’s all I can eat anyway! I’ll do that again. I looked at steaks this week in the grocery store. A couple of NY Strips was $36, and a couple tenderloins was $41. That’s just for the meat, then you have to take it home and make it. I kept walking. The wife won’t order steak when we go out because she says we make it better at home (sous vide and properly seasoned). It’s hard for me to argue that. I probably have a burger a bit more often, but I prefer the less frequent steak so that got my vote. 🥩
  16. A week with no advertising revenue? I won’t hold my breath on that one. This is the NFL.
  17. If I tell her “Mike in Horseheads said so”, she would probably change her evil ways. 😂
  18. Oh, Geez. You’ve just created a dilemma for me. My wife has already booked the hotel rooms and rental car for the opener, and she just keeps inviting family members! When she learned what ticket prices look like now she slowed down. Thank God for that! We will also be attending the “home game” (for us) in Atlanta. I thought that was my Bills schedule for the year, but my wife is from Rock Hills, SC, basically a suburb just south of Charlotte. She has a ton of family in the area. I’ve never seen an NFL game in Charlotte. If it’s anything close to the Nashville experience, I want to see it with my wife. I’ve been to I think 4 games in Nashville (nearby and my son lived there) but my wife never got to see that amazing scene. Tempting.
  19. I thought this answer might have come up sooner. My pizza will sit on the counter as I graze off of it after the initial meal. Eventually I stop grazing, and the box ends up in the trash in the morning. No food safety issues in my experience, and I’ve been doing it a long time. I know where I got my last delivered pizza from (the guy’s originally from Grand Island), but I’m not sure how many years it’s been. My wife mostly just eats pizza we make at home. Other than that it’s a cheap lunch to stop for a slice. That’s all the pizza I need. There are a few places with pizza that people love, but they only do a whole pie. We would need a crowd at the house to do that. .
  20. NO! I’m not talking about BEING committed! (Those records are supposed to be sealed.)
  21. I have commitment issues.
  22. I was watching the NCAA hoops tournament at a Buffalo Wild Wings with my son, his best friend and his dad. Some super drunk guys were getting very obnoxious and the language was foul. I asked them politely to tone it down, and they just got louder and asked me if I had a problem with that. Before I could say anything the other dad, Patrick, stood up and said I have a problem with you and your behavior. Patrick is 6’5” and about 275 lbs with fists as big as my head. He’s not led a cushy life, and you can tell he’s a dangerous man. Hallelujah! We had a March Madness Miracle! 😂
  23. I leave it on the counter, but if it’s there overnight it’s usually going in the trash in the morning. The wife will pop it in the fridge. She keeps putting tomatoes in the fridge, despite me telling her repeatedly how the cooking channels say don’t do that. I choose my battles wisely.
  24. Where do we play the Buc’s in preseason? You have to pay me a fortune to sit in the stands in Tampa in August to watch preseason football. I’m not sure if there is enough money to make that happen. That heat can kill you! I’ve turned down free early regular season tix in that heat.
  25. My wife really needs to stop inviting family members to join us for the opener. She just might have to un-retire!
