Oliver was especially not holding ground with the high ankle sprain last year. People seem to forget about that, he played hurt for quite a while. That is NOT a quick heal, especially if you keep playing on it. Kudos to him for toughing it out. There was a video somewhere showing what a DT has to do to anchor and how brutal that is on an ankle. I mean, just think about that….. It hurt his game in every way, including what he is there for, which is quick penetration.

Oh, how I miss those years! It was the same thing in basketball, if you can’t go left, you can’t go anywhere because they will just take going right away. It’s good for sports, for sure, but it also teaches you work ethic. Nope, it ain’t easy. THAT is why you are working at it.

Our son was a very good soccer player. He could have played in college, and he “got it” the first time on the field in a 3 on 3 as a little kid. He would just dribble around the kids picking flowers. He knew why he was there, and it was a mission, regardless of pretty cloud formations! Eventually in Rec league games (school and travel team, be sure you win first) we told him it only counted if he scored with his head or his left foot. It REALLY helped develop his skill set.

My understanding is he’s been offered Cousins types of deals, but he wants longer term AND fully guaranteed. He wants the STUPID deal the Browns gave Watson. One stupid deal does NOT make the market. Look at the Cousins deals - he was smart and willing to accept short term deals. He’s made a fortune on 1-2 year deals over and over. Lamar could do the same. Lamar would be fully guaranteed on the $32mil +/- franchise deal. Nobody resents that, to my knowledge. I think he was offered 3 years for $133 mil guaranteed, but he wanted more and/or longer. His style does not lend itself to long term fully guaranteed deals. He needs to stay healthy and earn his money. I don’t see this as racist. The man needs professional representation. With a qualified agent none of this would be happening. .

I grew up with a table in the basement, and have one now. I was better than most, but if I tried to go left handed today I might be up past my bedtime trying to finish a single rack. I’m afraid to even TRY! One of our friends growing up was forced to switch hands in middle school. He was one of the better athletes in our neighborhood, but he had nerve damage to his right hand resulting in partial use. (Horrible story about his brother returning from Vietnam, not being right and a kitchen knife.) Before too long he was beating people in tennis left handed. Most people know a guy like that….he’s just better than the average bear, and it’s quite clear to everyone.

Hysterical! I was flying home to Sarasota, FL one time and the girl in the window seat was a college kid. She was going to see her grandma for spring break and hit the beaches. The airport is very close to the shore, and we got a view almost like that. Not as swarming at all, but clear enough to see all the little dark dots moving around close to shore. “Hmm, what do you think those are?”, I asked. 😋 She audibly gasped! She then made a Mr Bill Face, and shortly thereafter she started breathing again. I doubt she went in deeper than her ankles on that trip!
