  1. Our grandson just turned 9 and he seems to be ambidextrous in most aspects of life, except for sports. Is it possible to be “neither handed”? I kid, I kid! (Mostly.) He’s young, healthy and having fun. What else counts? As for lefties, it’s always nice to have someone to stick at the other end of the dining table so everyone can eat without getting in each other’s way.
  2. The people who are complaining must be Employee of the Month every month, and their kids are class valedictorians. 😋 I get it, the playoffs have been disappointing for us, just like for every team but one. It happens to be the Chiefs this year. I takes great play and peaking at the right time, plus a fair amount of luck to finish on top. It hasn’t been our turn yet, but I like where we stand and I’m looking forward to next season with high hopes.
  3. You and Rex are tied so far. Let’s face it, this is his season.
  4. I also doubt he ever sees the $45 Mil. Posturing already for the negotiation, Aaron Rodgers style.
  5. What do we get if you’re wrong? 🤷‍♂️
  6. I’ll give you until the demise of the next stadium tp be right on that one. 😋
  7. I never lived in Snyder, but just pulled that name after visiting my 95 year old mom today. She grew up there. Beyond that, I’ve never seen anyone sway anyone else’s mind in a public funding of sports arenas discussion, so I’ll bow out.
  8. The question is, what does this actually cost the average guy living in Snyder? Or anywhere else. Is this a financial burden difficult to survive? Or is it a few pennies a month? Serious question: what does this cost the average person?
  9. We live in Atlanta, my wife works out of NYC and we spent time in downtown Chicago about 18 months ago. Chicago was BY FAR best option of those 3 major US cities. It was so clean and safe feeling even I was impressed. Just don’t go to the wrong areas. My wife changed hotels in NYC so she never has to go outside. The hotel is attached to the offices. She doesn’t feel safe outside anymore. That’s horribly sad, but I think most major cities have declined in that regard the last few years.
  10. Who decides “our way”? Do you speak for all? I suppose the best response is that we/you elect people to make decisions, then you have to let them go to work. You don’t have a referendum every time they build new schools, or close libraries. That also affects taxpayers. This is just one decision in the big picture. Yes, a bigger than average decision, but just one small line on the bigger budget. I don’t live there or pay those taxes, admittedly. But I never blinked or asked how much having the Atlanta Braves new stadium in my county was going to cost. It was a non-issue here. The financial aspect was not a factor, but then everyone got something they generally love. If they hated it, I think they would have complained about all kinds of related things like cost, lack of transparency, traffic, design, etc. Get it right? Everybody is happy and all is forgotten. There is no way to satisfy everyone in the Bills stadium situation, so people will find things to complain about. .
  11. So……if you can’t have it YOUR way, shut it down. I’m afraid you don’t have the clout. These decisions are being made by people with clout, and we are not on that list. In Atlanta they moved the Braves stadium from a very sketchy area to an area (The Battery) about 3 miles from my house. It’s surrounded by a terrific development with restaurants, bars, apartments, hotels and theaters on 65 acres. The funny part was there was ZERO public discussion until it was announced. I don’t know how it was funded and I’m not saying this is related to the Bills situation, but it’s just crazy how these things can work out behind the scenes with no public input. I absolutely LOVE the result in this case, to be honest. But decisions like that could also be awful, so I question the process more than the result.
  12. I have always said as long as the Bills remain in WNY I’ll be content. I’m good. Having said that, my first preference was a downtown stadium strictly for selfish reasons. I fly into town for games, usually by myself. Taking one person in a rental car or finding a ride to the stadium is less than ideal. To be able to walk from the downtown hotel to the stadium, as I’ve done in other cities, is awesome! I’m sure I’m not alone in that feeling. BUT, that will NOT be the case so I’m not wasting any mental energy on the topic. If anybody is obsessed with not getting exactly what they wanted, I suggest they look up the Serenity Prayer. It ain’t happening, so let it go.
  13. Leading the war on obesity!!! But in a subtle way.
  14. I think having that versatility was part of the plan. Unfortunately, Tre was never himself and Elam took some time to get up to speed. Stuff happens. Keep moving.
  15. In the past 12 years the Big East has won 5 National Championships (UConn with 3 and Villanova with 2). The other winners were UNC, Duke, Baylor, Louisville, UVA, Kansas and Kentucky, each with just one win. Pretty awesome showing for the BE.
  16. See: Troup, Torrel
  17. Nope, I heard they were going to commit to keeping this one intact forever. Just for YOU! 😋
  18. WOW! That’s a surprising little tidbit.
  19. As @muppy is well aware. The big night is here…..eventually. Late start wouldn’t bother me as I’m retired, but I have to be ready for a furniture delivery at 8am. Bad timing! Hoping first for a good game, then if UConn can win it’s the best of everything.
  20. That sounds about right. My son played the violin in middle school….and it sounded NOTHING like that! 😱
  21. And I was so sure it was going to be about my car warranty!
  22. It really is amazing! UConn looked like world beaters early, then slumped. The most important thing in college basketball is peaking in March! Full disclosure: I’m a Big East guy and happy to have 3 teams in the Sweet 16 (with SEC the only other conference to do so). My ears perked up as Sir Charles was asking how they had 8 losses this year. The BE is a gauntlet, and my Xavier team gave them 25% of their losses. Good luck to both teams (and @muppy) tomorrow night. I pray for another instant classic. For some reason I am doubly amped for March Madness this year, and they have delivered!
  23. We also used to say the old people live in Sarasota, and their parents live in Venice. 😋 Yep, tons of WNY folks down that way. I hope to be one again some day. It’s stupid expensive now, but things seem to be cooling based on some places I follow. Higher rates, make cash king again! I need a buyers market in the next few years. I only saw Tampa for soccer fields, football fields and gyms, or the occasional hockey game or concert. I never got to see the nicer places to live. My son hopes to get closer to Sarasota down the road, but it looks like he might have to be close to Tampa to get the type of job he’s after. Oh! And I like Busch Gardens more than anything in Orlando. .
  24. Hmm, might be two different Babettes. Just guessing…. 😋 Did you ever read Henry and the Clubhouse? I did a book report on that two years in a row. I am grateful to some of the people here who have informed opinions and share them. This is learning season for me. It’s hard for me to tell much based on highlights because, well, they are just highlights. Guys can also look good, but I don’t really know what the best scheme fits are. I see OT ranked in different ways, and I have no idea who would be the best fit, if we even go that way.
  25. Oh that Babette! She could really knock it back, couldn’t she? I think I saw that one on the Food Network.
