  1. HBD Wacka! Oh, you shouldn’t have! I mean that, you really shouldn’t have……
  2. Houston is gone, thankfully. Let’s move along.
  3. Yep, it’s like “successful surgery”. They rarely come out and say “yeah, I really effed that one up!”
  4. I can fully assure you that it is not mine.
  5. We were at an Embassy Suites in Florida a couple months ago. You get a couple free house drinks during happy hour if you’re staying there. I sit down at the bar and the drunk guy next to me starts blasting the bartender and some girl who must have been on her first week. “I don’t want the cheap stuff! Why do I have to show my room key? How dare you treat us like this?!? The Ritz would never treat us like this!” On and on, until I couldn’t take it. I asked if he had ever stayed at this hotel before. No, he says. Well I have, and they had locals from the neighborhood who came by nightly for 2 hours of free drinks (it used to be unlimited). Yes, you need to show a room key until they know you. Then I pointed out the window to the Ritz across the street. I told him we were there the night before, and they have no free drinks whatsoever. You can’t even get a seat there. Oh, and the rooms are $1,600 a night. You’re saving over $1k/night, you can afford to buy your own top shelf drinks. Level voice, but tore down everything he was saying. He pissed me off. And then he shut up, he just wanted to be a drunk bully. Upside, you ask? The bar staff treated me like a King for the rest of our stay. They couldn’t fight back, but somebody did it for them. I mean, the head guy set up a dinner table outside by the pool on the 8th floor (there were no dining tables outside) with a sunset view over Sarasota Bay, the Gulf of Mexico AND a view of the basketball game I wanted to see inside at the bar. He even went and got flowers for the table to please my wife. He was tipped accordingly. Moral of the story: life is better if you are NOT a jerk. .
  6. This is outrageous! Isn’t the NFL responsible for accommodating our disability in some way? Maybe let the other guys only have 10 guys on defense? We need some justice!
  7. The trades were making me dizzy. I had to stop. It was almost like those damn teacups at the fair. .
  8. I’m not going back to look, but I think it was about making free throws helps you close out a basketball game. It’s winning time. Like being able to run when you have a lead in football.
  9. It’s like having a running game: it’s nice to be capable closing out a game. I freely admit I don’t watch much outside of the Big East, so it’s fun to see a lot of new teams and players. When was the last time Kentucky won anything? He gets top recruits but wins very little for the talent level it seems.
  10. Nowell sets an NCAA Tournament record with 19 assists. On a bum ankle. And makes his shots. That was some classic stuff!
  11. It’s a good time to be retired! I think the game I want to see the most tonight is UCLA vs Gonzaga, and that’s going to be on til midnight! I don’t know how I don’t know anything about Florida Atlantic or how they ended up in the Sweet 16. I expect Tennessee to give them a drubbing, but that is why they play the games, and what makes this tournament so awesome!
  12. So young. Cancer sucks! Prayers and best wishes.
  13. I agree it’s a weak excuse and didn’t decide the game. HOWEVER, seeing a stranger in the grocery store die of a heart attack is different than seeing your brother die of a heart attack. The Bengals won because they (players and coaches) kicked our tails, but the Damar going down before the Bengals too is not apples to apples.
  14. I agree, the second game felt like it was just finishing what was happening in the mini-game, but worse. The slippery conditions made it even more painful. We’ll never know for sure, but we’ll never forget it, either. I hope we see some tweaks on D with the DC and safeties coaches gone, but it will be much the same with McD as HC. What concerns me most is Dorsey. We need better protection and some weapons, but he needs to grow into that job in a hurry. .
  15. …or when guys who were never Bills but they decided he was the guy that they wanted in the draft does well. That can be insufferable. Especially when you don’t hear about it until they’ve been producing in the league a couple years. I honestly think it worked out quite well as a Bill, it just didn’t work out for a 2nd contract for a RB. We got a lot of production over 4 years for a 3rd round pick. I’m in a strange place. I really liked what he offered, his ability to make people miss and his 4.7 ypc. At the same time, I think more speed will be helpful, and I hope we can become more explosive.
  16. QUICK! Somebody call the Browns! You never know with those Browns!
  17. I have no idea how many locations they had or where they were located. It was just a taste of home for me while living in Florida. They even carried Canadian beer.
  18. I don’t think it’s just Buffalo, or just wings. We tend to elevate the memories from our youth. Wings (and pizza) were a treat when I was a kid. It’s part of the fabric of my younger years. But this applies more broadly as well. I don’t know about you, but any time I go back to somewhere I used to live it’s mostly a tour of my favorite foods. There are restaurants and bars I will make a point of hitting every time I go back to where I used to live. Three meals a day is not adequate to hit all the places I want to visit on most trips.
  19. Honestly, that was not serious. But our kids played against a lot of first rate talent. You could see the NFL kid without being a veteran scout.
  20. Such a gray area. I could have a long discussion on that, but this is not the place. Be well!
  21. This guy is actually unique. I had the tremendous foresight to get his autograph after his spring game in his sophomore year of high school.
  22. SERIOUS QUESTION: What percentage of people here do you think knew ANYTHING about this guy until the last hour? We tend to look them up and trust others. Some we trust more than others. At least I do.
  23. Are you too young for Mary Tyler Moore? Or out of your mind? 😋 She’s my #1, followed by my dear Samantha from Bewitched. Big drop after that, so I’ll ponder that a bit. EDIT: To be fair……I don’t recognize a single name on your list, so I’m too old. But I knew that. .
  24. I think he is exceptional at getting booed. I mean, he’s All World there! Everybody makes mistakes, and he’s made his too. He takes crap for the owners for a very nice living. But there are a LOT of people out there who just don’t like others having so much wealth. I don’t resent wealthy people. I’d like to be one some day! Sadly, my PowerBall adventure failed us, and I even got a ticket. Or did he pull an OBJ and go crypto??? Oops.
  25. How many years (OK, maybe days? Hours? 😋) would you need to do that job at that salary before feeling comfy about your situation? .
