My biggest concern is his weight, and I’m sure this has been considered. He dropped 17 lbs to get “down to” 330 lbs? What is his ideal playing weight, and can he maintain that? Like the Jets Becton, there IS such a thing as too big.

Sure, except I know I haven’t been covering the Cowboys in the media for decades. Maybe you have some connections there? Somehow, as much as I avoid listening to annoying Skippy, I think he knows a bit more about the Cowboys than either of us.

I’m not saying it is fact, but it was worth being sure, IMO. They got the guy they wanted, and there was reason to believe others wanted him. Then some guy who reports on and is regularly involved with the Cowboys prints something positive? I’ll take that with a grain of salt, tbh. He’s got to work with Jerruh and the gang, so that might curry him some favor. That’s how it works, we’ll never know. It could be they’d have preferred Addison, but couldn’t get the deal done to get that much higher, or couldn’t justify a higher cost. WR’s went in a hurry there!

I totally get the benefits of versatility. Having said that, I’d rather have a guy who is outstanding at one position than a guy who is so-so at 2-3 positions.

There are some people here who evaluate and share knowledge about football, college and NFL, that I really appreciate. They don’t sell themselves as experts, they just share their opinions. How much respect their views deserve is determined over time. EDIT: BTW, I think Beane already said he’s our big slot. Does that influence your deeply considered opinion?
