Was there ever a sport you tried you weren’t good at?
Augie replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Are you just assuming his wife has to be one of the three? -
I’m in Atlanta now and we have a St Angelo’s just up the road. Good pizza and it’s the only place I will order wings, and they are from Grand Island. Our peeps are making the world a better place, one bite at a time!

Pontillo’s had a place in Sarasota, FL when we lived there. Once I found that it was my go to for pizza and wings. They had pictures on the wall of the locations up north….mostly covered in snow. I don’t know if that was intentional to make you feel better about where you were? Regardless, it worked. Sadly, I think he may have retired and I think it’s closed.

I’d suggest we go ahead and thin the herd by about 6%. 😊 -
There are studies that say if something is more than 20 minutes away, you are less likely to do it on a regular basis. That allows you to get almost anywhere in Buffalo, while it only allows for me to venture to “my little part” of Atlanta. Traffic is relative. Buckhead alone is bigger than Buffalo, and I have friends “in Atlanta” I would never visit because they are too difficult to get to. Don’t even get me started about when traffic just stops. I only get on the highway when absolutely necessary.

Well, one advantage would be we wouldn’t have to spend much time worrying about the draft for the next couple years. 🤷♂️

When does “again” become “still?”
-
Yeah, that’s probably it. I’ve gotten to where I hate just watching the news.

I know my rights! I don’t have to answer that! Decades ago, a big buffoon moved in down the street. I know he totaled at least 4 cars, and he swore he’d never live to be 25. Nobody was taking the bet. Anyway, he worked PT at a convenience store near our neighborhood. He used to put cases of beer in the snow outside the back door of the store. Good times…. Do you ever wonder what happened to people you used to know? That might be an interesting tale.

Sometimes talent just enables bad behavior and lack of accountability. It can be a double edged sword.

Snow skiing was totally demoralizing as I watched 4 year olds gliding effortlessly all around me!!! 😂 . -

I played rugby in college, and we had a strong program. Our Old Boys won the St Patrick’s Day tournament where teams come from about 40 states to participate. Some of our guys used to go to Europe for tournaments, so we thought we were kinda hot stuff. Then one season a new guy shows up, and humbling does not adequately describe things. He was a DB for the Redskins and managed to just hang around on the fringe for a couple seasons. He never made an active roster. I remember thinking if this guy can’t make an NFL roster, those guys must be a different species or something! Not only was I not good at hitting a baseball, but I remember taking the kids to the batting cages and it hurt my hands to make contact with the ball. I took zero joy from that experience. Maybe deep down I didn’t want to hit the damn ball! -
Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
Augie replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Byrd had his 40 INTs in 98 games. Tony Greene is second with 37 INTs, and it took him 128 hames. Byrd by a country mile! He absolutely should be up on the wall. I wonder why that has not happened. Butch Byrd lived in our neighborhood and my mother managed the property so he’d come by sometimes. I did a little egg demonstration showing him and my dad that by if you applied equal pressure all around the egg, it could not break. Apparently my pressure was not quite equal, because I shot a raw egg all over Butch’s nice suit. And I’m alive to tell the tale. That alone should get him on the wall! 🤣 -
Feel free to come by for lunch. If I’m not in the break room, check the camping section. I may be napping.

I live in that break room.

Was he 42, and Warfield 24? I have some crazy old memories from the Rockpile. We may B word and moan, but the Bills have given us many years of enjoyment on many levels. -

Butch Byrd. All time leader in interceptions with 40 in 98 games in a time when there was much less passing. Tony Greene is 2nd with 37 INTs in 128 games. Byrd returned 5 of them for TD’s. He also covered Paul Warfield of the Dolphins in some classic matchups. My sister used to babysit his kids so I watched some games at his house, I traded football cards with his son and he was a great guy, but that doesn’t influence my decision. It doesn’t have to. . -
OK, I don’t want this to get weird, but my wife wore her “Married Into This” shirt just yesterday. I’ve only seen her wear it a couple times since I saw one in London and sent her a pic. She had one for herself and our DIL before I got home. But she never wears tee shirts. Hmmmmm I have Golden Retrievers to protect me!!! Yes, that would be very different.

Weren’t we all? That is insane, but believable. . -
A therapist we know says there are studies on this, and I have come to agree. She had a friend in Atlanta who bought a new house and moved farther away. They went out to see the new place and have dinner, but she knew the stats say if it’s more than 20 minutes it’s not likely to be a long term thing. That’s about the breaking point.
