Way too early look at the 2026 draft
BillsShredder83 replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our track record around the league has to be at the tippy top of retaining our own. That said, other guys on the team know this is cut throat business and we cant do it at 100% clip. Me thinks he gets one of these 5year deals pushing almost $90m. Players will be happy for him, and we have the best OL Coach in football. Get Kromer a raise, and a title upgrade like assistant HC. The reason you can let a guy like Torrence walk and next man up can go so smoothly is that dude!! Wouldn't be shocked if we see Torrence take a step back when he leaves. Not hoping for it, not saying he'll be trash... just hard to picture a guy leaving our system, downgrading the guys next to him, and him continuing to elevate his play -

GT is one of the most electric teams in the nation to watch!! Cupcake schedule hurts them this year, but they've got some nice W's. Haynes King is that duuuuude!!! -
Icarus flew too close to the sun on this and I agree. Its too bad because its the most footbally football play in the league. Theyre going to regret it next year the way they handled this year. Giving away a 98% conversion play for a 99% rate. The real way to punish them would be cracking down on how its refd right at start of playoffs... leave them scrambling to go back to how it was before. I think they'll have a hard time defaulting back

Good point.... or it could be this was all he's allowed to put on tape knowing cameras are there? If theres truth to 'not allowed to stay on IR if fully healthy', and we certaily know the system gets abused to protect players from waivers.... im just saying. Could be roster management and wanting to pick the right time (like near bye week) to introduce him to lineup, while also being able to roster the extra man. Just a bit of devils advocate.
-
Part of the perks of building a culture like we have, should be the ability to roster a talented but difficult personality. Atleast guys on a 1 year deal. After a year you let them leave before the crazy to hot ratio moves back to no-go land. Does he want potential revenge? Just wants to win? Im sure we won't, but bet we kick the tires and put out a call at minimum This guy is 27, so not washed and completely dofferent then poyer/hyde twilight years lol the other points may be valid, but he started on a SB winning defensive powerhouse. Im not saying do it, at all... but Sirriani can handle him, and McD cant? That whole team was sick of each other year before Saquan.

Is a CFL-NFL merger coming in the future?
BillsShredder83 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
This makes a ton more sense, and goes from something i hate and fully oppose, to a great option. One Heavily dilutes, the other builds up the NFL and fringe players. I cant see Toronto Bills fans accepting a competing team, although their would be newly interested fans. However, I think we'd all take at least a mild interest in a farm team. Canada playing nice could lead to them getting an expansion team down the road. There's a lot that'd be at stake, too much to think about before 10am LOL these are just things that jump out at me. -
Saw this Friday and didn't feel worthy of its own thread. Rutgers put an absolute unit in it FB, to smash a hole in the pile... not a block... just a snow plow bludgeoning of a hole. Looks like a DT lol Also wanted to post this for funsiez... Iowa couldn't have possible made this play any more condensed of an attack lol was like two semi trucks in head on collision Mind as well. I think i hate this one LOL but I feel like a team that runs Tush Push well could pull this outta their back pocket, and walk in a 80yarder just because everyone is buried already https://x.com/mfaltas_/status/1916635430029529529

Way too early look at the 2026 draft
BillsShredder83 replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
You had me reading angrily till right about here "Then, there is Nyck Harbor, who has Megatron-like measurables (6'5" 235 lbs 4.24 40 - not a typo) but doesn't garner much first round hype." LOL kidding, (mostly). Where we are picking, I'd run to the podium, with a pitchfork in case anyone tried to slow me down... but I understand if ppl aren't happy about the reach. If you're wanting to trade down to get him, I'm ok with it, but I want him in that Keon Coleman/Tee Higgins #33 pick, as I cant see anybody willing to pass on the absolute freak monster.... we've been burned before doing the same w/ Metcalf -

Calling an early shot here.... less sexy than a bunch of others who will posts. USC, LB, Eric Gentry. 6' 6". 7foot 1" wing span. Late round/UDFA guy. His athleticism matches up pretty well with Tremaine. Very versatile player. Above average instincts. His giant glaring problem.... he's ~220-225lbs. Needs to bulk up massively. I'll be honest, without bulking up majorly, he belongs in a 3-4 defense. However, he strikes me as a guy McBeane would be intrigued by, and take in a very late round to try and work with the kid. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST FOLKS!! -
You're close! Start Winston, Ciara's husband can sit the bench, or not show up.... he can go design pregnant lady jeans, or whatever it is that he's into LOL Winston is good enough to win a game, then hand out INT's like Oprah.... then you can move to Dart. Then again...... Daboll and Schoen have nothing to lose here. They throw a rookie in too early and completely shatter his career a la Jets, its not their problem, they weren't going to make it to week 8 staying this course. If I were the team owner, Im protecting my first round asset from exactly this and taking the controls away from them! I hope the kid is ready, Im a big fan of him!!!

What Would the NFL look like without injuries?
BillsShredder83 replied to ryguy101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well they'd have bigger helmet and jaw sizes. Arthritis type side effects. Puffier cheeks. Organ growth. Its already going on but id imagine sweet spot is around 20-26iu's a day lol they'd all have cots and blankets for extra nap time too -
Plug your picture in here. This thing is creepy good. https://tineye.com/ Side note, as s hat connoisseur, companies do one run of a hat, and when their gone their gone. Your only hope is secondary market. My best advice is if you find a hat you really like, buy two!! Wish id done that with this guy!! Edit: cant add my prized yankee hat, tried resizing to smallest size and was still too big

Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on
BillsShredder83 replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wonder if were tinkering with philosophy, since we brought in a few new coaches with different scheme backgrounds. Could be were seeing a learning curve from some of the guys like Benford, Milano, Bernard. Honestly I cant confirm or deny, complete speculation... but would make sense -
Bills Defense, will it get better as season goes on
BillsShredder83 replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Cole Bishop really solidifies himself on the back stretch of this season... McD's defense is tough to learn. His mistakes have looked like processing the field slowly, hes got all the physical talent in the world. I think we're a damn good team at filtering players that have high on-field IQ. At minimum we get very good floors out of players in secondary by doing this. ...yes, I know theirs a player that didnt meet that^^^, horse been beat to death, plenty of other examples reflect my theory. Dallas-player's tenure here was weird all around, from day 1. We dont need elite play back there, (especially as this DL and the rookies shape up) elite play is certainly welcome, but anything from 'Average-Above Average', is good enough to get the job done. -
2021 season was my tipping point to getting Firestick.... my SundayTicket was jacked up literally 3 weeks in a row. Had to head over to Pirate streams, which froze and needed a refresh every 15mins or so (I'm out of market)..... im d***'ing around with this crap paying $500. I call them each week, they say "Sorry *insert SouthPark face*. We'll credit you one week" 3 weeks in a row. Refund? I dont want to miss the games to save $$ LOL unacceptable Had a buddy who pays for service through Firestick, like $25-30/mth for 3 devices..... I'm in year 5, and I have had exactly 0 issues. Sorry ya'll are dealing with that, but actually sorry, not like the one these companies give you

Ed Oliver in walking boot..per Matt Parrino
BillsShredder83 replied to Watching since 1964's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. Im not sure how well the nfl would tolerate that starting though. I forget exactly what, but theres been blowback in the NBA about resting stars. They play 82 games, not 17. Could be wrong though as their are diff dynamics at hand -
What happened to the run game in the second half?
BillsShredder83 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems as good a place as any.... is Ray Day hurt? . He did not have a good pre-season for what thats worth. Even so, pretty shocking to me to see 0 carries for him last night! Only 3 handoffs to RB's not named Cook last night though, so they mustve went in knowing they needed a big day from him specifically -
Dude is RAWWWW. He does not seem like a natural born football player, despite freak traits. Also is the ultimate lunchbox/high-motor guy (not just visually)! I've seen some early clips of him in college, and he looked like he had never met a coach and only thrived in HS on a CRAZYYY frame. Frankenstein stength and size probably let him glide through without refining his game. The transformation he over went while playing in a Power4 Conference, is nothing short of a miracle. 99/100 times this type of guy is swallowed alive, or quits, at that level. Has to be one of, if not, THE largest transformations of anybody drafted this year. Unfathomable amounts of work mustve gone in to make this happen. I know this reads so far, like a knock on him, but being able to do that tells me he can/will do it again. Beane took a low floor/ultimate ceiling risk on this dude, and I'd bet anything it pays off. Anybody taking him was committing to an NFL red shirt! Fully expect a Spencer Brown type curve (dude played 7 on 7 in HS ball). Top 15-20 at his position player by end of next year, and a guy pushing for 1st/2nd team All-Pro by year 3. Patience folks!!!

Kicker decision between Bass /Prater
BillsShredder83 replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Prater has left me feeling a helluva lot more steady. The fact Prater is kicking well and Bass' job may be on the line, makes me even more nervous he'll be a headcase returning. Praters miss was how far out though? Football reference only has a range, between 40-49yds. The fact it was wildly off makes me a little more comfortable it was flukey.... hes obv been $$ in practice too, because McD didnt hesitate to bring him back out for a risky'ish kick. Came out and drilled a 47yd despite that miss. I think we have a lot to potentially lose by releasing him and trying to get him on PS when Bass comes back.... I dont feel much of a risk letting Prater keep hitting the ball. Worst case scenario, Prater crumbles, and Bass is protected on IR/getting 100% healthy. We have this kicker 'hall pass' thats only valid if we use it! Id be sick making the switch before Prater did something to make us!!! Let Prater finish out year, next year we can try the Bass thing again (absolutely wouldnt have a 6th or 7th round swing again either!) -
Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
BillsShredder83 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
About the only problem with a weak schedule we have like this year, is iron sharpens iron so to speak. Were going to come across, and have already come across a good defense... but I am a bit nervous we'll see these softer teams all year, and when it comes down to crunch time, we'll be rusty - whether thats the players, or coaches strategy - with how well we are able to go back into air attack mode. I think that Lions & Rams game last year served us well to be prepared for that outcome. We got some of that in Baltimore game, but I hope we have atleast one more game where we need to stand in a phone booth and trade blows! -
Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?
BillsShredder83 replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am far from a negative nancy around here. If anything Im guilty of drinking the KoolAid too much. I truly never come into a game thinking we might lose. I like all our draft picks almost immediately. I have not been a 'FIRE MCD!' guy ever, aside from that night game loss to Russ Wilson & Broncos, where playoffs looked to be on the line game... and i softened my stance on it entirely after we beat the Eagles the next week, 'he hadnt lost the locker room." My concern, is in no way about the regular season. Im pretty dang confident we will FINALLY lock up the 1 seed. My concern, has been viewing every game through a playoff lens. What our regular season performance, indicates about our future playoff performance. That said "team that is balanced"? Depends on how you define balance I guess. ~50/50 run vs pass sounds like the definition most are using here, that are saying "balanced". I actually very much like that ratio! Where things go wrong IMO (go wrong in playoffs, not week 3 vs MIA), is how we break down that balance of those 50% of throws. Right now, and admittedly its early, but this trend has run through recent playoff performances as well.... seems to be: ~85% short passes 15% intermediate 0% deep Its frustrating to read hyperbolic responses about this criticism as "wOuLd yOu rAthEr Be tHe bEnGaLs?!?" When what 95% of people in the same boat as me mean is a balanced passing attack (there is a 5% blowhard community that should be ignored). This 85/15/0 split makes the offense have to labor to get the jobs done at times, and where it appears most ugly, is in the playoffs. No we dont need to score 50 points! What we need is a fairly small modification of 85/15/0, for our own good. D-coordinators (Spagnola - satan incarnate) have been allowed to crowd the line, and over commit to clogging the LOS with bodies. Generally we're good enough to over compensate for this, but thats the laboring were talking about. Josh can move and protect the ball pretty damn well on the intermediate stuff, that area of the field needs more targeting, for multiple reasons - including that Allen is the most dominant intermediate passer in the NFL, maybe ever. We need to work out the kinks in the regular season. We're not asking for 50/25/25 here... Were asking for a more balanced passing game. We're attacking such a small area of the field, and still effective at it.... balancing things out just a smidge will improve our efficiency at the things we already do well to: -- Cook is going to break off more long ones/hit HR's --These 10 YARD YAC plays we see so often out of Khalil, are going to start converting at a higher clip of 40 yd YAC chunk plays.
