Report: Micah Parsons requests a trade
BillsShredder83 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
$$$ has to come from somewhere. Our OL is heading into year 2 of gel'ing. I get what you mean, but I'm 100% OK trotting Ray-Day out there to get it done. Minimal drop-off when you consider the things he does better. Pass blocking, catching. Not route running, but catching for sure. -

Im not worried about him getting ate up (at times! this isn't a "given") in the run game. We have a nasty OL!! He draws a ton of attention, and we have the backend complimentary players. Rousseau would absolutely EAT. Especially if opposing teams decided they d A premier pass rusher is all we NEED out of him, but he brings more to the table. With as late as we are picking and would pick in the draft, I would 100% give up (as a starting point) Two 1st's, a 2nd, a 4th, and Cook. Potentially another player instead (Milano) /addition to Cook. If they want Milano & Cook I'm giving less/lower picks. Cook would offset some of the money. Milano could too, although in all honesty I have no clue if he'd be someone they're interested in. This might be a better fit than Milano in my deal above ^^^ Your terms are starting to push my limits.... Im gunna need some return picks, but I'm not hanging up the phone! -

In fairness, teams are forcing these guys to hands to come out as the bad guy lol They arent even speaking with agents or attempting to negotiate. They cant aim a gun at them and force them to the negotiation table. Teams are never going to hold a press conference and say "they want to negotiate, we refuse to come to the table." So players options are: 1. Stay silent and engage in two way passive aggressive game. Basically play chicken on holding out for TC or real games 2. Demand Trade ^^^teams know that by doing that, fans are going to paint them as bad guy... first one to speak is bad guy. Soooo the less drastic measures are: 1. Play Cryptic Twitter games 2. Downplay with "we're considering*" qualifier statement Dudes being a good soldier and obviously cares about winning to even be at Training Camp now! Does anybody in the world think Parsons should be on a one year $24M deal for this year, with FA next year? That would puts him at about ~#12 highest paid DL: Behind Players Like: -Karlaftis -Montez Sweat -Brian Burns -Danielle Hunter -
Report: Terry McLaurin requests trade
BillsShredder83 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Does it matter how we solve the problem? No matter what we add to the defense, we have no clue if it will be enough to get over the top. KC just out schemes our defense, always leaving wide open looks. Its a matchup league, plugging one hole (even massively) on Defense still leaves 10 other potential exploits. One beast on offense can almost assure more points, both/either directly with that player or by opening up other avenues. IMO its much more predictable/consistent/cheaper/more efficient to try and add 7 points, than it is to try and stop 7 points. We've seen this play out both for and against us -

Scary Terry is an all-around route runner. DK is a deep ball magician with limited route tree elsewhere. Its just different -

Yep the last 2 seasons we have had opportunities to pull away and put the game on ice. One more TD on the 2nd half stalled drives last year gets it done. Everybody says we wouldve got smashed by the Eagles, but we'll never know. We had a *MUCH* better OL than the Chiefs did, if we keep Josh cleaner than Mahomes was kept, I see no reason we aren't very much in that game. Im glad we drafted defense hard, but we're clearly missing a legit #1 for Josh that could've easily been enough to put us over either one of the last two years. Does not matter how you win it! You can win a SB with 75% offense / 25% defense, or vice versa, its not a requirement to be 50/50. To me it makes sense to lean into a strength, Josh is going to amplify whatever weapons are given him. 1 + 1 = 10. I'm all-in on this season, but I desperately believe we need to be all-in on getting Josh a #1 next season no matter what it takes. TRULY ZERO EXCUSES! FA? TRADE? Pick package to move up? Doesnt matter -

He has though. For several years. In one of the most brutal environments you can. Aside from last season hes done it on awful teams, his entire career inside peak Dan Schneider BS culture/distractions. We've never heard a peep, hes been the ultimate team player. All it takes is one knee injury this year and it could easily cost him $50-100M! They have the money to do it. Its his turn. Pay the man so that team can get out there and get to work. Crazy they'd toil with the first exciting team theyve had sinceeeee what? RG3 Rookie year (if you count that). So really since early 90's. 25-30 years ago. There's a 1% chance he ends up else where. And 1/32 * 1% chance he lands in Buff. If they want to be stupid i'd take him LOL but dang theyre fumbling the bag hard here I dunno about this one LOL I cant think of a single reason other than a fat contract he'd want to stay in Cinci. Even given that theres got to be 15-20 teams I'd rather get the same contract on before I'd want it in Cinci. I cant think of a single reason outside to stay in Cinci. Maybe if he has wife & kids that love the school and neighborhood/friends. -

Christian Wilkins released for kissing team mate
BillsShredder83 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let's not pretend an NFL lockeroom is the same as a corporate job. Take away the nut grab reputation, horsing around in the locker room is nothing. Same way it wouldn't be on a construction site, factory job, bartenders etc etc The nfl and raiders doing nothing about the nut grabbing and then pearl clutching about a forehead kiss is hypocritical of them both (even though raiders are pretending its about the rehab, which they have every right to be mad about). The problem here is 1% a forehead smooch, and 99% letting the testicular torsion slide without a word. If nfl had suspended him a game and fined him, he either doesn't do this crap, or they have better ground to stand on for ripping up his contract. Trying to argue a case against him, which the nflpa will fight tooth and nail (knowing full well this isn't about the smooch), that this is over a lockeroom horsing is going to be a losing battle. Regardless, eff this dude, hopefully he get what he deserves, which is $0 guaranteed and to be treated like a pariah. -

Have you not seen our record the last few years??? If Josh misses even half a season, God forbid, all we have to do is play .500 ball and we can absolutely get into the playoffs. Insane to think we'd waste a post season opportunity with Josh at the helm. Sure if (AGAIN GOD FORBID) Josh is going to miss playoffs for sone reason, sign me up for a tank for Jamar Chase type scenario. But no, all they'd have to do is play .500 ball, and White can get that done -
ty for that! do you have any go to podcasts or anything you dig for learning X & O's ? I love what you bring to the board

Can you explain why/what the differences are there? I TOTALLY DEFINITELY know, but just in case there are people less smart than me and you who don't 😆 Good to see this place has LITERALLY learned zero since Bernard lol surely no player in NFL history has ever made a 2nd year jump. Why wait around to find out amirite lol

I agree with the first sentence... that last one is crazy though. Theoretical: He has tightness in hamstring week 5, and we can potentially save him from longer term/lingering by giving him a 1 (or 2)week rest versus, sayyyy, the Jets. *Throws up hands* .... maybe 2026 is our year. Its a specific concern, but its not unfathomable. White looked sharp for a backup in MIA and NYJ. I def feel like we can still win with him versus a ton of teams. Its an insurance policy.... its not going to save your season if the Ferrari gets totalled, but it might get us to work if the bumpers hanging after a small rear ending. Andddddd I really like it for the scout team defense. I think thats a real nice perk to get them prepped. White looks like he belongs in NFL. Mitch looks like hes here still only because he went #2 overall -
Great line, and i hope its sincere what were seeing. He's surprised me a bit with his maturity so far. RBs have got the raw end for a while now. Seems like their productive life expectancy is 4-6 years. Sucks to be locked into rookie pay scale for 4/5 years (4 for 1st rd'ers; but again we're talking RBs) and then unable to get a "real" contract. I hope when the new CBA is worked out they find a way to comp RB's better! If they cant/wont, then they should make it 3 years (+1 yr team option for 1st round: RB's only) for RB's. The Bills aren't doing Cook dirty; the CBA put them there. We cant handcuff ourselves to do the right thing, at a competitive disadvantage. Could they voluntarily have re-wrote the deal this offseason to add incentives or something? I was really turned off by his verbal crap this summer, but his actions seem to be different. I am not in the camp of giving him what I believe his market in FA will be, but i also get the crap situation he's in. I'd totally meet him in the middle on making this year more profitable for him. Give him some awesome kickers for performance

new nickname if he sticks around!!! at least thats the way we do nicknames in my clique lol

I think as a rookie itd be much easier ttransition into the NFL on the pass rush side, than it is on the run stop side. Hes got time to put it together... but if I had one wish for him this year, id drop my wish in the pass rush bucket! -
Nathaniel Hackett is coaching D!
BillsShredder83 replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh no, the current coaching staff brought in a guy as a "consultant" (prestigious!)... one that theyre familiar with/have previous work history together. Dude cant coach an offense, but hes well-liked by the guys hes coached. Easy transition for both parties, that helps both sides out. Its a role that really only makes sense to hire a guy whos coached in the NFL before, and the only people accepting the job are coming from a pool of current unemployed guys. Its a nothing-burger -
100%. Im sure its not just Buffalo thats seen a game like that as a visitor either. Was probably on the extreme end, but wtf is the league and NFLPA thinking here? What else would be a homefield advantage? Make them play without helmets!!! Pump SARS into the visiting locker-room ventilation!!! Release some Grizzly bears with baby cubs on the away team sidelines!!! WHAT ARE WE EVEN DOING HERE?!?
-
Reason #1 I side with the players in $$ disputes. Especially the rookie scale/veteran minimum types of disputes (much less so with the Hendrickson types, but still on their side usually), like the 2nd rounders this year. NFL is Not For Long, and most of the dudes drafted don't go on to make the big $$. If, and thankfully it sounds like he hasn't, this guy wound up on a wheelchair, hed be absolutely F'd. But even if its lower end injury, and his career ended and he cant work blue collar type jobs. Everyone should be able to run around and play with their kids, have physical hobbies/stay in shape after they get out. Billionaires could and should take better care of these bottom rostered guys
-
Yep, Dallas is cool with that. Look at the Diggs there. Dudes been pretty boom or bust and they love him there. He may give up some long TD's breaking on a route, but he also picks those off at a high clip too. Hope we see Hairston gets encouraged to play like that. A long TD isnt the end of the world with our offense (obv you hope a safety catches him).... but an extra possession for us is often a back breaker. I forget the coordinator we brought in (from NE I think), but sounds like we may lean into a more aggressive defense this year with more m2m! Coleman day 1 TC was practice. But day 2 wasnt! Lets wait to find out what he's doing today 😆
-
Thats different though. Only our laundry matters in practice. Unless its bad, and then its just practice!
-
Good, I hope he kills it there honestly. I think we unintentionally did him kinda dirty even picking him. Anybody wishing different is a petty I can't get with
