  1. I'll listen if some of them are pick swaps. 3 firsts --- we get back 2nd & 3rd, type deal. Its ~ a half round trade-down (end of 1st & mid 2nd)
  2. Thanks Augie!! I remember sharing something a bit personal about my struggles w Addiction on TBD in 2018-2019... shortly afterwards I had a DM from you, sharing some of what you'd been through. I didnt get clean/sober until some time later on - Jan 5, 2020. I had a handful of moments similar to that act of kindness, that always stuck with me!!! Once I got to NA/AA I was familiar with the lengths ppl who have seen/experienced those struggles will go to just to try and help them! Done being mushy, but a quote I hear/heard in meetings that always stuck with me is "we'll love you, until you learn to love yourself." None of us know anything at all about Reid, or what type of parent he is/was. One of my tightest homies grew up in a home with 2 *active* heroin addict parents. His earliest memories are seeing them passed out on the couch together, needle still hanging out. Or waking up in his car seat, to find them both passed out at the wheel.... car absolutely freezing cause it ran out of gas, and not being able to wake them up. He grew up to get a wife and 4 kids, owns a huge car dealership, and never touched a drug harder than a 45lb barbell plate!!! Buffalo is rampant with opiate problems. Everyone should be familiar enough with the Sacklers and Purdue Pharma to realize those dirtballs had as many normal folks, as they did drug-seekers hooked on Oxy. If not check out the show 'Dopesick' w/ Michael Keaton (Hulu). My point is there were/are literal MILLIONS of people who've had no prior drug use history, that became causalities of the opiate epidemic. EFF THE MONEY-LIZARD SACKLER FAMILY!
  3. I didnt even notice this. 'Sal' is Capaccio, the other guy needs 'Sal M.' or something, feels like unofficial rule. FAWK. Was hoping this was a nothing burger
  4. Please God dont let this be true. We def dont deserve it, but damn, if anybody deserves it less than us it is Tre White himself!! Dude belongs on the new Wall of Fame when its all over... I know he doesnt have the longevity, but hes sure AF done enough in the community and was a pivitol piece in our franchise turning around both on and off the field. Prayers up for Tre!!!!
  5. these are contradicting..... which is it?
  6. Anybody remember what kinda shape Mack's contract was in when this deal went down? Was he needing new deal immediately at trade? Just wondering how well the parameters match up. I'm doing this in a heartbeat, especially because one or both of those 1st rd'ers would be 31 or 32. Heres a guide... our last 6 1st rd selections: 1. Hairston 2.Elam 3. Rousseau 4. Ed Oliver 5. Josh Allen / Tremaine Edmunds Aside from Josh, pick any combination of the best two you can come up with..... which combination are you NOT trading for Parsons. Literally, id trade all 5 guys not named Josh for Parsons.... soooooo what does that tell you about the draft compensation? Also, EVERY single one of these selections was higher than the picks we'd give up, some of them significantly higher (ed @ 9th, Edmunds @ 17th). Alternative thought experiment: pick two players from any round/year from all of Beane's picks..... theres no combination (maybe one) of cherry-picked players not worth Parsons..... your best two picks is probably what.... Benford/Rousseau would be the best two, and while that would hurt.... I dont know that you could immediately hang up the phone on that offer... im not advocating for that trade, just a thought experiment on the lofty expectations we have out of a Mack type trade.... we're not getting ripped off by any stretch
  7. If you suck at drafting/scouting/developing a position, doesnt it make sense to make that position a priority via FA or trade? Everyone complaining about Parsons/McLaurin/Hendrickson cost, when in reality, not only would we get a bonafide SuperStar, but we could stop spinning our wheel at DL or WR. I know we havent drafted a ton of WR's, but we've certainly spent enough bargain bin $$ failing to address the position meaningfully. As for DL, it feels like we've unsuccessfully used two-thirds of our picks on that unit with not much to show. I am a huge Beane fan, but damn this eats me up.... we're not getting enough out of the position, we're spending resources heavily. Time to get out of purgatory, get the elite production we need, and it's a one time investment instead of recurring.
  8. My brother in Christ..... what? No GM is letting the Diggs BS in the last year overshadow what that trade did for this franchise and Josh. If 13 seconds doesnt happen I think we'd have got our first ring... thats not even counting the 2 other very productive years out of Stef.
  9. Smells like Kadarius Toney to me! LOL kidding, but also a little serious
  10. Dude looks like a moderately respectable writer from his LinkedIn ; however, this is a thought of his, not a report
  11. AFC Team at that!!!!!! Not contenders but Cinci is desperate, dumb and cheap! Call em up!!!
  12. I agree in theory to most of your post points, but DE's tend to play into a deeper age at high levels, more than maybe any position. Could be because they are 'hardier' boys by nature
  13. Prime?? Maybeeee, but he could % have more ceiling than he has now.... not to mention he's the type i could see bringing extra gas to the table after feeling disrespected. Thats a guy I want on my team. Oliver + premium pick is my starting offer.... id throw in a Knox or Kincaid if interested. And yes, Im also on the record for Mclaurin too.... i want another big piece if possible. Id MUCH rather Parsons, but would give a healthy offer for Scary Terry too
  14. How many PS spots are there? Just curious as to how important each is... I know theyre important, but a # would help gauge for me. Im not worried about it, but if the guy was a good kicker in college i could understand stashing him, developing, and having him in the wings if Bass goes loopy again... or possibly next year if needing to cut Bass. Having a guy on could give us a cushion and trust level with staff.... pretty crucial for a SB contender with a very good kicker, but one who could go either way after having the yips a year ago Again, not necessarily in fear of losing this dude i dunno much about, just playing devils advocate a bit for why i could see a K making a PS
  15. I got some breaking news she can have.... BONKKKKKKK!!! Trade the picks, eat the salary, ask for Scary Terry + however many low end picks, as we gave up in high end picks. 1st for Terry + 5th/6th 2nd & 3rd (maybe stagger the years) for Terry 6th + 7th The answer is win it all, and draft better going forward!
  16. I've seen this twice, and I just dont believe its true. Speculation obviously... but he did the Bussin with the Boys Podcast last week, and I remember him talking aboiut it and saying how well that DL looked and Von was his old self until that Detroit field. I think these guys get seasoned to protect themselves against bad beats. It was the right move, but it didnt work out. I'd do that deal over and over again. 85 out of 100 times it works..... and those are odds you should ALWAYS be willing to roll the dice on. A BAD GM would see that situation and be scared to pull the trigger again
  17. I was a big criticizer of Gabe, he produced no volume. Put up too many goose eggs. Dropped too many balls. Awful catch%. Involved in what felt like 50+% of Josh INT's. Knee jerk reaction is NFW! Settling in and thinking, he could be a nice PS addition at minimum for emergency. Possibly work his way into that Hollins role. Maybe he can get rid of the yips when hes not being asked to produce at a #2. I hated Hollins as a #2, but began to love him in the limited 4th wr spot, and especially the run specialist snaps. Line him up on 10 run formation plays, ask him to pass block on 9 of em.... 1 play-action or send him on a route outta a heavy formation. Any trust would need to be earned slowly, and be OK with that role
  18. Did we hear anything good or bad about Moore in practice/joint practice last week? I basically missed the game, i had it on, but there was busy family function going on. Think he dropped what looked like WR screen, was that him? Anything else in that game?
  19. I missed the game (thankfully). This was dude from Ole Miss right? He have a brutal game?
  20. I'm also curious. My knee jerk reaction is that mini "sunroof" effect will cut down BIGLY, because a ton of the time the big snow comes blowing sideways! However, when i stop and consider, i remember the biggest storms and biggest flakes are lake effect, and i kind of remember that snow type coming straight down, which is the type that will fill up the field. However, my perspective on Lake Effect Snow was from living in the Tonawanda's.... and feel like wind always blew hard sideways at the games. If heavy lake effect blows sideways only, Id imagine only a scenic 'snowglobe' amount of snow will come in Ricky Williams coming outta retirement??? God dang I hated him so much from gashing us to pieces, but at the same time one of my fav RB's to watch all-time
  21. Interestinggggggg. I've seen them be movable, towed with a mini tractor with a cable, in what looks like a HUGE deep dish pizza tray. If this is the logic, then id have to assume they'll have atleast 2 maybe 3 trays staying in rotation. Somebody else upthread said there was a time requirement where we had to sod by this spring...... so Im picturing start 3 trays in the spring:..... 1. Tray 1 gets 4 games, then is rotated out, where they will re-sod, and give it a year to grow again 2. Tray 2 gets same treatment 3. Tray 3 comes out for playoffs/emergencies with other fields This gives them backups ready to go, and meet the minimum time requirements (as speculated earlier, i cant speak to the truth, just speculating of what this could look like"
  22. People are just ribbing on you. No negativity!! Your right, I think the bulk of average fans could not care less about the stadium surface, thinking it doesnt matter. ANY HARDCORE FAN OF: NJ JETS/ NJ GIANTS/ DETROIT and others, can tell you, these BS badddd turf surfaces are a nightmare. These 3 fields had an ABSURDLY higher amount of ACL/MCL injuries than any other stadium due to a poor surface. It was far from an insignificant amount too. There was an article, and I want to say those fields specifically had a 75% higher rate than the average of the other ~30 surfaces. Not only do those knee injuries take away players for a year, killing entire teams seasons..... but they so often END CAREERS COMPLETELY. Ask OBJ, A Rodgers, Tre White, Von Miller and a boatload of others. F'n Detroits field cost us a SuperBowl in 2022 IMO, between 2 games in that stadium in one year: Thanksgiving (Von) and a Snowed Out one (Tre Whites first and most damaging injury). We were a SB team without those injuries, and I'll MF'ing DIE ON THAT HILL. Id love to see a calculation of how much those 3 fields costs players/owners in lost productivity/career earnings!!! Morons pinching pennies and costing hundreds of millions, not only to their team, but other owners/players as well. NFLPA should strong arm all these fields to grass
  23. Yeah theres been a bunch of stuff out about this. They even showed us the artificial light they use to supplement the sun. It reminded me of a tarp, but a few foot above the turf. Covered the entire field, and has state of the art bulbs that produce exactly the right UV rays to keep her healthy. Cool AF, and soooo far away from a cost efficient surface... a sign we arent cutting corners, and are really building (another) state of the art facility
