  1. Cutting Williams for sure. Urbik took a paycut already and I think at his price he's worth it.
  2. May be a soft market for Mathis since there is a good chance he might get cut if he isn't traded. http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2015/03/eagles_still_trying_to_trade_evan_mathis.html Teams might be willing to wait that out unless the Eagles just dump him for a late rounder. USA Today is also reporting that Rosenhaus is in Arizona at Owners meeting looking for a trade partner. Not Buffalo. https://twitter.com/ByJimCorbett/status/580066984731090944
  3. With the premium at CB Leodis will be hard to let go. If someone does step up and outplay him hell be in the least traded. He won't be cut outright. His number is pretty reasonable for another team to handle via trade.
  4. He is due to make $6 mil in 2015 from Detroit and whatever the Bills were paying him in 2015 which I'm sure was pretty hefty . Which is another reason to sit back and wait a year for a HC to come open
  5. in 2012 the Redskins D ranked 28th. That's a fact. You can look it up on NFL.com.
  6. ..and EJ has had two knee injuries that cost him games and even labeled him injury prone his rookie year.
  7. I sense with the jobs dried up that he is waiting out his opportunity for a HC job. He could have had a DC job in a heartbeat with what he did in Buffalo. If he takes another DC job his future HC job will be based on what he potentially does in 2015 instead of his job in Buffalo in 2014. He is betting on his 2014 performance to get him back into the HC seat. It'll happen too.
  8. ...and like he won't have the best running game in the league in Buffalo? And 20/5 for a rookie is almost unheard of. And he was 4th in the league in 2012 and 3rd in the league in 2014 in completion percentage for QB's with at least 200 pass attempts. ..the entire league! That's not a fluke.
  9. Skill set wise Griffin is superior to Manuel, and he has already done it in this league. 2012 Rookie year at 22 years old he's 9-6 with 20 TDs vs 5 INT's while Manuel's best season was 4-6 with 11/9. 2 of this 3 RG seasons his completion percentrage was 65% or greater, while Manuel's is 58% both seasons in the league. If you think Griffin was captain checkdown, his 8 yards per reception those seasons exceeds Manuel's 6.4. Griffin's only bad season came in 2013 off of knee surgery that experts say it was too soon for him to return. He also played with a Redskins D that ranked 18th in the league. The issue with Griffin is his maturity. But the same can be said about Manuel and his inability to accept responsiblity for his poor play during the season. Both QB's were benched last season, which were humbling I'm sure for each. In the end, I still feel Griffin is a unique talent. He just succeeded so early in his career I think it went to his head. I feel it would do both QB's good to have a fresh start. If there was an offer out their for Griffin for EJ and as low as a 4th, I would take that. In a heartbeat Griffin is a better fit for Roman's offense and I think he'll be asked to pass less than he was asked in Washington. That will limit his mistakes. Having a QB like Griffin would instantly put Buffalo in the talk as having a QB that already led his team to the playoffs with a far inferior defense (Washington's D ranked 28th in 2012 when he took the Redskins to the playoffs). Imagine what he can do with a running game and number 1 D? I said a while back i see a trade for RG as something that can happen for the Bills. Having RG III, Cassel, Taylor and Tuel as QB competiion heading into July looks really good to me.
  10. I think 11-5 gets them in. I can see them hitting that record
  11. Keep in mind that for Matt Cassel's career with atleast 9 starts when playing on a team with a Top 15 defense, Cassel's record is 24-15 with 58 TD's & 27 INT's. Years with atleast 8 starts playing an a team ranked worse than 15th in defense he is 5-18 with 22 TD's and 28 INT's. The best ranked defense Cassel played for was the Patriots in 2008, when he finished 10-5. So the thought that Cassel can guide a Top 5 defense into the playoff's is real.
  12. Ridiculous to even have Cassel on this list if you even know anything about football.
  13. I dont see how the video is about him needing a job. He was just promoting something. But OK.
  14. Agreed Although I think he saw a chance to reunite with Roman and a young receiving core that he could unseat. But ultimate seeing those dollars fly will interest alot of players.
  15. While I think even if this doesn't workout in Buffalo some other team will give Manuel a chance, I believe this is his last credible shot to earn a starting job. Any opportunity after this will be as a backup. I also believe that as proud as EJ is he is working extra hard not only to throw it in the face of Marrone, but also every single NFL talking head out there that scoffs at the Bills QB situation. I rate the odds of EJ starting at 50/50. I know most would give lesser odds, but I still feel there was something not clicking between Manuel, Hackett and Marrone and a fresh start will benefit EJ. I also believe Roman's experience gives him a huge edge over Hackett. However, with Rex Ryan on board he has no allegiance to Manuel, and even though Whaley is still going to be pulling for him it's going to be a situation where he will not get getting the benefit of being a first round pick. I really hope EJ comes out with a new focus and starts performing like a first rounder. Based on his work ethic and character I'm betting he does. But if he doesn't I also feel Cassel can do enough to give the Bills a chance to reach the playoffs.
  16. Bills cap as of 3/19 is at $9.5 mil not including Clay's hit. So I'm thinking we'll have roughly $2.5 after Clay hits the books. That's without restructuring Mario or cutting Williams, which I'm calculating could take Buffalo's cap back up to $10 mil if completed.
  17. Allot has been said about the past performances of many Bills over the last two seasons. Specifically on offense, from offensive line to most importantly QB, some players have not performed up to standard based on their experience in a system led by Nate Hackett and Doug Marrone. I read last year there was a beef between FO and Marrone about the HC giving up on Kouandjio so early. That may have had an effect on his confidence which doomed his rookie year. Ryan might see something different, and with the 2nd year pro now in lineman camp a fresh start may lead to positive production. I think the same with EJ. Ryan admitted that he thought Manuel should use his legs more, and it was said that Marrone wanted him to be more of a pocket passer. Sometimes when you try and make someone something they aren't so early in their career the learning curve is longer. Obviously it affected Manuel's play as it seemed the read option disappeared from the offensive playbook evident by his per game rushing totals dipping. I’m sure it crushed his confidence as well, which led to his poor play and ultimate benching. You can even make a case for Cyrus Richardson's success (or lack thereof). It's bad enough ESPN, NFL Network and entire press keeps crucifying Manuel and the QB spot for being so bad, along with Buffalo's O Line. That has to stick in the craw of those mentioned above and motivate them more. All I’m saying is we have some very young & promising talent that for whatever reason didn't work under Hackett/Marrone. That doesn't mean it won't happen under Ryan and a different tutelage. Manuel had some great moments and I expect him to build from that being in his 3rd year. I also believe Ryan & Roman will be more focused on Manuel's strengths and how to tap into those. I see the same happening for Kouandjio. Both have been extremely humbled by their experiences last season and seem to be very proud & determined players who were used to success at other levels of competition. I’m interested and at the same time excited to see what type of growth comes from those two players (along with Richardson). Especially Manuel, who if he can turn the corner, can really make this team one that will be very difficult to play against, period.
  18. Like alot of posters are saying....it seems the market has quelled a bit yet there are still alot of quailty FA out there. The longer alot of these FA stay out there, the more bargains they will be. Quality FA are signed in April and May believe it or not, especially after teams see what they have in the draft. I can definitely see the Bills taking a OG or OT in the 2nd and/or 3rd round. One of those guys I can bet you will be competing hard for an starting spot. The Bills have had so much activity already in the first week of FA that a week has seemed like a month. But there is still alot out there, and that's not including alot of the names that are being mentioned in trade talks whose teams are also see what they get in the draft before possibly waiving/trading a Mathis or Evans. Lots of time for moves still. We can be impatient, but I can assure you Whaley and Ryan aren't. That's a good thing. William Campbell is an interesting story. Look for him to maybe be in the mix. Former Jet's 6th round pick from a big school (MIchigan). The Bills may be looking at him for some depth as well. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2013/04/nfl_draft_2013_jets_select_mic.html
  19. Change title of thread so fans wills stop complaining! LoL
  20. the link below has them at 50-1 https://www.sportsbook.ag/sbk/sportsbook4/nfl-betting/2016-nfl-futures-2016-super-bowl-50.sbk Your probably gonna get your best lines from internet sites. Most casinos aren't the best value. Westgate, Soutpoint, and a few other smaller casinos have the best odds locally
  21. Rex is gonna want a proven commodity at TE. Rookies and unknowns are great, but this isn't the 2008 Buffalo Bills. They want to win now. I'm betting either Clay of Gresham will be on our roster within 2 weeks.
