If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
dezertbill replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He can't enter 2016 draft and supplimental draft request was denied. He is at the mercy of whoever signs him. I'm surprised no one took him in 7th. A few years back someone would have. Today's climate is too risky for public perception. I think it was more his lawyer than his agent that led him through this -

Joe Barksdale OT FA w/ Rams stilll available

I also believe that the Bills will address OL via free agency after draft. I think we still could use some depth in addition to who we selected and signed UDFA -
Cedric Reed DE Texas is a Bill per NFL.COM 5.2 Rating Analysis: Strengths Will crash down the line of scrimmage to attack running plays when left unblocked on the open side. Can be disruptive with inside pass-rush moves. Plays with decent initial leverage for a long-levered defensive end. Shows secondary motor to pursue downfield. Weaknesses: Stiff, unenthusiastic player. Has some athletic traits, but they don't show up consistently enough on the field. Passive off the snap and lacks physicality. Block magnet who has a hard time disengaging. Lacks the ability to turn the corner as a pass rusher and doesn't seem to have a pet move to beat tackles. Draft Projection: Round 6 or 7 Sources Tell Us: "He was a really boring guy to study. There just isn't anything on tape to get excited about until the end of 2014 when he started playing better than I had ever seen him play." -- NFC North scout NFL Comparison Denico Autry Bottom Line Reed never developed into the type of defensive end that Texas expected when it recruited him. Despite having a viable NFL frame, Reed hasn't been able to show enough on tape to earn a plus grade for any of the critical or secondary traits teams are looking for from a defensive end. However, his improvement during his senior season could give teams enough hope to take a shot.

Cowboys got Rawls, highest rated RB left on board per NFL.COM. Probably paid a kings ransom for him. Good get by them. Cody Prewitt went to Titans. kinda sucks. I really thought he could come in and compete at FS for a starting job.

Some safeties still out there for FA. Surprised Harris and Prewitt are on the list. I think we have the upper hand on FS with our lack of starter. Rd 5 pick 155 RB Karlos Williams Florida State
dezertbill replied to Drreef2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Felton is fullback. He doesn't count as a RB I really like this pick. Bills don't have anyone like him on their roster. Strong and big down hill runner with sub 4.5 speed. I think this is a steal. Lack of experience at postion only reason why he lasted this long. As he grows I really like the upside. -
RD 3, Pick 81: OG John Miller, Louisville

wouldn't surprise me if Miller gained 20 lbs. Seems like he has room on his body to do so -
RD 3, Pick 81: OG John Miller, Louisville

NFL.COM take on Cyrus Kouandjio last year Bottom Line Massive, long-limbed, inconsistent, overhyped college left tackle whose sheer dimensions, raw tools and high ceiling are far more appealing than his snap-to-snap performance at this stage of his development. Has enough length and anchor strength to survive on the left side, though he will never be a dancing bear, and he projects more ideally as a bulldozing right tackle in a power scheme. Hmmmm...Whaley says after Miller pick CK moves to tackle. I think this will be the best thing for CK's career, and he may surprise this year now operating in a system that best fits his style of blocking -
RD 3, Pick 81: OG John Miller, Louisville

NFL.COM Bottom Line Miller isn't the most nimble athlete at the guard position and he will be limited by scheme fit, but the pure power in his upper body and his hands have scouts excited and there is a belief that he will be better as a pro than he was in college. -
RD 2, Pick 50: DB Ronald Darby, Florida State
dezertbill replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Ryan sees him opposite Gilmore for the next 8-10 years. Island CB that QB's won't throw at. Sounds like another DB Ryan had in NY called Revis. Hopefully he can be close to his ability. -
RD 2, Pick 50: DB Ronald Darby, Florida State
dezertbill replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Per Pete Prisco CBSSports.com I think Darby had first-round ability, so he will step in and compete to play right away. Rex Ryan loves defense and to beat the Patriots you have to defend the pass. Per Kevin Patra NFL.COM The Florida State product has the kind of man-cover upside that Ryan loves to employ in his aggressive defense. Darby possesses good size at 5-foot-11 with blazing speed, having run a 4.38 second 40-yard dash at the combine. Darby will join Stephon Gilmore, Leodis McKelvin and Corey Graham on the depth chart. The rookie was often left on an island in college, with many quarterbacks avoiding his side of the field, so he has the background for Ryan's scheme. However, he was often outmuscled by bigger receivers and will need to become more aggressive to garner the coach's trust. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000490071/article/ronald-darby-bills-first-2015-draft-selection-at-no-50 -
RD 2, Pick 50: DB Ronald Darby, Florida State
dezertbill replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
per ESPN What he brings: He's something of a risk due to some off-field issues and his questionable awareness in zone coverage and habit for guessing too much in man coverage. But he has the fluidity and top-end speed to turn and run with the fastest receivers -- his movement skills remind us of Janoris Jenkins. How he fits: Darby has one of best pure cover skills in this year's cornerback class and is a strong fit within Dennis Thurman's press-man scheme. Darby has the mirror skills to hold up on an island, which is exactly what Rex Ryan wants to execute the heavy amount of blitz packages he traditionally dials up. -

Doesn't have good hands according to this video. But you have to respect Ryan and Whaley's evaulation. He was rated 1st round talent by Bucky Brooks. He can hit and has great speed. I think this spells the end for McKelvin after this year. I think the 3rd pick will be a bit more mainstream. QB or OL -
Dude's a porcelain doll. He can't stay healthy, so it doesn't matter. When he does, then we can talk.

Joe Namath adds to Rex Ryan criticism
dezertbill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Namath and Ryan got into it before when Rex was with the Jets. Ryan told him unless he plans to come out of retirement he should shut his mouth. The fact that Namath is spouting off again about Rex isn't really news. -
If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
dezertbill replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Baton Rouge police, they have not heard yet from Collins or his lawyer as of Wednesday evening. Strange for someone who "isn't a suspect". Especially since it's the day before the draft, one would think he wants to get this cleared ASAP, or atleast show that he is cooperating without hiding anything so teams wouldn't be hesitant to take him. As it sits now, Collins not only won't be touched in the first round, I would be surprised if he is drafted at all. The longer he stays in hiding, the farther he'll fall. No team would be willing to take that risk. It's too much heat with the current climate of the NFL for one team to absorb -
