The Bills could sign Dan Manucci and someone will start a thread on how hell start over EJ. -

Bills Release Jeff Tuel and Claim Matt Simms
dezertbill replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could see this coming a mile away with Rex's familiarity with Simms at NY. This is a blip on the radar. I don't see Tuel or Simms making roster. -
No QB competition in Jersey: Geno is the starter
dezertbill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan being Chan. Just attachin himself to the hip of a QB without a competition. Jets could be 1-10 and hell drill home that Geno is theastarter. Ala Fitzpatrick -
At this point Chris Williams is a goner. He is a no show for voluntary workouts with a new coaching staff due to (or not) an injury that basically wiped out his first season with Buffalo where he was projected to be the starter. Seems like this year is starting off the same with him not being able to participate. He is falling behind on the playbook and may not even be healthy enough to practice before summertime. You don't keep a guy with a $3.4 million cap hit to be a back up guard or not even be healthy enough to play like last year. Look what they did to Urbik, which the only reason they didn't cut him is because he can play all positions along the line. Add in the love Rex & Company is showing John Miller for his smarts and learning the offense so quickly and you have a starter who maybe more talented, more knowledgeable of the playbook, and a lot cheaper on your roster than Williams. I don't see how Williams overcomes those hurdles with his salary hit. Bye bye

It's obvious by his actions that Bryce Brown wants out of Buffalo. Rex Ryan probably started the ball rolling when he said he would remember his name when he learns how to hold onto the football. Calling out a player that you haven't even meet yet like that in the public is pretty damning if not completely disrespectful. I really believe Brown came to Buffalo with the idea of having a shot at the starting job at some point within a year or two. With the addition of McCoy that has gone up in smoke. Add Karlos Williams & I'm sure he sees the writing on the wall. McCoy, Freddie, Dixon all rank above Brown, and I don't foresee the Bills cutting Williams unless his wheels come completely off since he is just a rookie and offers a skill set at RB and ST that Brown doesn't offer. Thus the reason why he is a no show and hasn't been in contact with the coaching staff. When your a month and a half behind in learning a new playbook and don't even have the time to speak with your new position coach, you just don't care. Bills depth at RB will be McCoy, FJax, Dixon, and Williams. We'll be OK with those four

The press speculates on EJ's future
dezertbill replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since the Buscaglia thread is closed, I'll comment here. This article screams of trying to put JB's name on the national sports reporter map. So If Manuel doesn't outplay Cassel or Taylor he'll be cut? No crap. The same can be said about Cassel and Taylor. The Bills won't carry 3 QB's on their roster, and unless one can be a practice squad guy that's a no brainer. I believe Carrucci more when he says that the job is EJ's to lose. Any one with common sense can see that Marrone and Hackett made EJ so cautious that they ruined the kids confidence. EJ's comments scream of needing a fresh start and being able to be the QB he knows he can be, instead of being asked to be a QB that he cannot. I think we'll see a different QB this pre season. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me to see Manuel and Taylor make it. If they both shine, Cassel will be the odd man out. -
Bills 5th rd pick Karlos Williams is a steal
dezertbill replied to pbanach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more info I get on Williams the more I like the pick. 6-1, 230 with sub 4.5 speed is a great combo of skills and I truly think after this year the Bills will be featuring a McCoy/Williams backfield similar to the thunder/lightning you've seen with other teams. The beauty about Williams is as big as he is he is extremely fast for his size. So he can run you over or make you miss to get into the open field, and once that happens he can run away from DBs. He'll also be a nightmare for LB with similar size to cover in the passing game since he is much faster than them. His blocking skillset will be key, but I really think this is going to be one of those picks we'll look back and consider a steal. Of course, taking into consideration any past issues being resolved and lesson learned. If he can stay clean the sky is the limit. I completely agree. I think Whaley and Monos has earned our patience and trust in them with some great picks over the years. I foresee this draft following suit. -
Bills have the 2nd worst OL in the NFL according to PFF
dezertbill replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Incognito and Miller will change that. Plus an improved Kouandjio. -
crack>meth>heroine>cocaine Like the only players on the field will be QB's? So done with the QB bulls&^%. Ryan's D goes to AFC championship games with a QB whose stats were worse than EJ, and his Ravens win a Super Bowl with QB's whose stats are worse than Cassel and EJ. Let the QB thing go for God's frickin sake.

Bring Back Spikes--edit signed with ne***
dezertbill replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to have Spikes back at the right price. He would be an instant leader in the lockerroom and a benefit to those young guys. I think he is resigned to the fact that he isn't a starter anymore. The Bills have one spot on their roster left and I'm not sure LB is the spot they want to spend it. But I'm sure if they worked something out Whaley would make room for him. Personally I don't think it's going to happen. But we'll see -
Prediction Time! What Will Tom Brady's Punishment Be?
dezertbill replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see Brady playing Bills. Sucks cuz when we beat them they'll have the "Brady wasn't playing" excuse. that will make the Monday Night contest that much more interesting. -
He scored a 7 on his wonderic. Thats why many teams feel he just doesnt have the IQ to play the position.. I saw him with the Raiders and he has skill. If the Bills wanted to bring him on I could only see him replacing Tuel as the 4th qb. But these coaches talk and after several failed stops I'm sure word is out on his shortcomings to a point were teams will stop calling. Being a new system with everything the WR coach needs to teach our current WRs the last thing we need is him spending a majority of his time teaching a 4th stringer on how to play the position. We have bigger fish to fry.

The Bickering Bills are Back!! **Rumor**
dezertbill replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Again, I'm sure you are aware having worked in the bar business for many years that whenever alcohol is involved with multiple parties having a disagreement to a point of physicality that it's a he said/ he said. If you want to believe a person because they are your friend, that is your choice. But being in the business as well a vast majority of altercations I've witnessed it's always the other guys fault. So unless you were present and heard exactly what the people said and witnessed exactly what happened, the only thing you can confirm is the story that one of the "victim's" is telling you. That's an opinion, not a confirmation. Because police were called doesn't put the Bills players at fault. Because the bar closed early doesn't put the Bills players at fault. You state that Robert Woods threatened to punch a woman in the face. Really??? How do you know? Let me guess, your friends said so. Should we now consider Robert Woods someone who is susceptible to domestic violence because your friends said so? Bottom line, you heard a version of the story and decided to lay claim to it as truth. You took sides with the "victims" and are now building a case for them in a public forum. Your an attorney, so I'm sure that's a natural reaction for you. But in reality you don't know exactly what happened because you weren't there. You keep repeating that your friends don't want to pursue anything further for "honorable" reasons, yet you sent them to their 2nd lawyer to speak with about this matter within a week (you being the first). That's the same contradicting line you hear whenever there is an incident involving an athlete. That screams, "let me see if I can get any money out of them if I promise to not take them to court or keep this out of the public eye." Maybe your friends were innocent victims, and maybe they were the drunk aggressors. I wasn't there and I don't know. And neither do you. One thing is for sure, if they are talking to attorneys, its for money. Is it OK for ordinary Joes to start trouble with athletes and then turn around and blame the players? -
The Bickering Bills are Back!! **Rumor**
dezertbill replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rumors like this are usually he said/he said. There are multiple sides to every story and I'm not one to immediately believe a victim's story against an athlete without hearing the athletes point of view. Having worked in many clubs I've seen a lot of people start stuff, only to turn around and blame someone else for the fight. Because the accused labeled Goodwin as an aggressor doesn't mean he was. Goodwin might think the same about the other person, and Goodwin might be right. Some people also feel entitled when they see athletes that they can act a certain way and athletes just have to sit there and "take it". Some athletes don't, and that's where the trouble starts. If it was something serious it would have made the news or police would have been called in. I can guarantee you if it didn't involve Bills players this would be an afterthought and the situation wouldn't be escalated. But because it involves millionaire athletes there is always thoughts of how one can benefit financially from "being attacked". -
Why no consideration for Jeff Tuel?
dezertbill replied to Vinaccia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In fairness to Tuel he was an undrafted free agent who was thrown in the fire his rookie year and asked to succeed on an offensively challenged team with a rookie OC. Not a formula for success. With that being said he doesn't have a strong NFL arm and those early career failures sometimes messes with a guys psyche. I'm sure he is more developed now but I think Marrone ruined him by setting him up for failure early. With a new coaching staff they aren't married to older undrafted free agents who another coach might have been high on . I'm sure Rex knew about Tuel when he was with the Jets and wasn't too impressed. There are a lot of players that look like Hall of Famers in College or do really well in pre season that never pan out for an NFL team. Once the season starts it's a different animal than college or preseason. Tuel's next opportunity will probably come a few years down the road when he is actually given a back up QB job and the starter gets hurt. It won't be in Buffalo, that's pretty much a given. And I'm OK with that, despite what his college highlight tape looks like. -
One advantage we have is Ryan. He is a very personable guy and if his family loves Ryan that will be a huge factor on where he goes. I'm sure Buffalo is promising him max money, a great starting job opportunity and billionaire owners to provide him whatever resources he needs to protect himself. Huge selling points along with a comfort level from family

RD 7, Pick 234: WR Dezmin Lewis, Central Arkansas
dezertbill replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if you skip to 1:22 you'll see him make a catch around a defenders back. Pretty amazing -
Brown probably won't be on the roster come September. Either cut or traded. We'll probably have four: McCoy Freddie Dixon Williams Felton FB That's a definite upgrade from last year.

Yup

no Once he is cleared the system is set up to where teams can bid on his services. He actually might make more money than if he were drafted, as crazy as that seems. But that's IF he is cleared.
