  1. I think that just shows the flexibility the team has right now, which seems to be alot
  2. Trading Leodis McKelvin would free up $4.9 mil which would be about half of Revis' salary cap hit. I would definitely ponder that if I was Whaley or Ryan
  3. Has to be Jacksonville Marrone must be related to the guy. With all that cap space Jacksonville signs TE Lee Smith to a 5 year $25 million contract with $15 million guaranteed! Doug Marrone is on cloud 9! Gooooooo JAGUARS!!!
  4. Chan will ride him to an 0-16 record and deny ever benching him. Fitz was his downfall, and it seems he didnt learn his lesson
  5. Potential Cap Saving Opportunities for Bills this offseason: Leodis McKelvin- $4.9 mil (via trade if Revis is acquired) Kraig Urbik- $3.05 mil post June 1st (if Iupati signs and with cheaper options for depth) Chris Williams- $2.48 mil post June 1st (Injury prone with bloated salary--no brainer) Scott Chandler- $2.25 mil (with acquisition of Clay and Cragg's presence plus deep TE draft) Mario Williams- $8 mil ??? (per Buffalorumblings.com, If the Bills converted $12 million of Williams’ $14 million salary in 2015 to a signing bonus, this move would create $8 million in additional 2015 cap space) Fred Jackson- $2.58 mil (Per WGR and Tim Graham, Freddy isn't going anywhere, nor will they approach him for a paycut) Marquise Goodwin $465,000 (Injury prone and can be replaced by Marcus Thigpen or any FA or draft pick) TOTALS- (Urbik, Williams, Chandler, Goodwin: $8.43 Million) (Add Mario Williams Restructure: $16.43 million) (Add McKelvin Trade: $21.3 million) NO Fred Jackson So with the above moves, the Bills can add an additional $21.3 Million to their cap space that currently sits at $12.7 million for a total of $33 million in salary cap space entering FA)
  6. Don't think we have enough. Spotrac shows us at $12.7 million left w/out Gay signing, which shouldn't be too much. Throw in Iupati or Bulaga and that will shrink to about $5 mil. We would need another $8 mil in space. Cutting Williams, Urbak and restructuring Mario could do that. We'll see
  7. No way Freddie gets cut. He's the heart of the franchise
  8. Spikes played something like 50% of snaps. Liability on 3rd down. Issue in 3-4. I think that's why they let him walk. I'm sure Rex has a plan B. If they sign Hughes, your looking at Front 3 Dareus K Williams M Williams LBs Hughes Brown Bradham Lawson if they had signed Harris, LB's would have been Brown Bradham Harris Lawson Unless I'm missing something
  9. So they can start negotiating on the 7th, which is 90 minutes away. I'm sure deals will start popping up in the news by morning as to what's been agreed to, although it won't be official until the 10th. That should be interesting.
  10. Took the words right out of my mouth. No Harris means Hughes will likely stay. Atleast they'll try
  11. This news sucks. With that being said no way we pay a 31 yr old LB $7 mil a season. Harris knew that. I'm sure Rex has plan B in place. No need running to the knife drawer
  12. We don't need BMarshall. We are setting up our roster differently. Jets have a lot tied up in Decker and Marshall. But after last year they had to do something.
  13. He's smart to do so considering A. He was traded by a team that didn't want him B. He was traded to a team that values him a helluva lot more than his previous team C. Bills have made it clear they plan on taking care of him and providing him more guaranteed money that his contract provided in Philly, and I'm sure was a point on contention with Kelly. HIs momma didn't raise no dummy.
  14. jboyst62...great post and analysis on your thread. You'd have to admit you focused a bit more on records and points her game. My post was focused more on opponents defense vs. rush and Offensive firepower of opponents in lieu of McCoy's addition on offense and Ryan's arrival and contribution to the defensive side of the ball as well as QB contribution to Ryan's two most successful seasons. Would have been tough for you to do on December 28th when we still had Marrone and no McCoy. Go Bills!
  15. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots_nfl/the_blitz/2015/03/could_rex_ryan_be_using_lesean_mccoy_as_a_recruiting_chip_for This article brings up a good point as to why the Bills were so active BEFORE free agency. It's obvious that the Bills have some huge holes to fill. Some of the more well known FA that Roman and Ryan have coached will want to play for a winner and a team with talent already on the roster. Adding McCoy and showing that EJ Manuel isn't the only QB Buffalo has on their roster shows players like Mike Iupati and David Harris that this team is alot closer to breaking through than last season when they finished 9-7. Ultimately, I also agree the biggest get is Revis. Although I'm not completely sold on the notion that Revis wants winning over money, I do believe that playing for a winner does play into his decision. I am hoping that Buffalo's brashness thus far will catch the attention of some of the more well known FA's that would shorten the distance between the Bills and a playoff birth.
  16. I'm kinda on the fence with this. Gay was an automatic touchback. Unless Buffalo has a guy on the roster who can do the same they are rolling the dice a bit. But right now i"m giving Ryan he benefit of the doubt. Lets hope he's right
