But he's a great pass catching back that you could put in a two RB backfield. Buffalo's biggest problem on offense is our inability to attack the edge. The 49ers racked up yards on the edges of that Ravens defense. We are so condensed that it makes it really easy to call Cover 0 and blitz Allen all day. McKenzie, Yeldon, Singletary and Foster (just because I wouldn't want Brown to take the punishment) should all be heavily involved in the offense in short screens, quick outs etc. because at some point you have to spread the defense out. You have to make them respect the whole field, not just between the hashes.

Josh Allen - week FOURTEEN report card
Luka replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
F. He must figure out his accuracy beyond 20 yards for this team to be successful against playoff caliber teams. That's all there is to it. And as we approach year 3 he has to stop taking sacks the way he does. Throw the ball away. I'd say he left up to 17 points on the field yesterday with the two missed passes downfield that were open and the sack that took us out of field goal range. Yes his supporting cast was also awful but to truly be the guy he has to rise above it. -
I guess he didn't have the need for REVENGE.

Josh's running style more injury prone than Lamar's
Luka replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where Josh tries to avoid contact is where I feel like he is most vulnerable. That's when guys still come in and deliver a shot to the head. Running backs don't get hurt all that much considering how many times they carry the ball and that's be cause they are the aggressor, they are initiating contact, they can anticipate a hit and protect themselves. Going out of bounds is Josh's best bet but if he's in the open field he needs to just run it like Gore. Lower the shoulders, two hands on the ball, run some people over because if he slides before contact it's almost a sure thing that someone is going to dive for his head and neck. -
Can't be mad about people's opinions. There's people in here saying the weather sucks. Well I lived in SW Florida for nearly 10 years and personally, I think their weather sucks. No change in season, deadly storms and so ***** hot you sit inside like it's a blizzard or something. It's overcrowded, expensive and all around pretty terrible. Unless you love to boat, fish or are a lizard man of some sort it ain't that great. I personally love WNY. Other people have different opinions and that's OK. That's why this country is great, something for everyone.

OK Boomer. Another aspect of the college game I love is paying attention to the guys you know are going to come up to the NFL. The NFL is very star player driven, and to watch these guys stories start from before the draft is great. Having been someone who watched Houston and Ed Oliver crush Lamar Jackson in college gives a nice perspective to this game and maybe more hope than some of the older, cynical, miserable fans.

College is far more entertaining to watch. Aside from watching the Bills, I can't sit and watch an NFL game all the way through. This year especially, the prime time games have just been awful for the most part. People arguing against college because of blow outs must only get small market teams playing big schools on TV because there have been a ton of great, marquee match ups this year. The rivalries aren't manufactured like they are in the NFL. The overtime rule is far superior. I've watched a few triple and quadruple overtime games in my time and they are INTENSE. The targeting rule is excellent and you will see it come to the NFL if they are serious about player safety. What costs you playing time in college will cost you money in the NFL and possibly suspensions if you're a repeat offender. While you can have a defensive slugfest in college, the rules are geared towards offenses scoring points. Isn't that what the NFL tries to do every year?

Clutch gene, sure, Elway but athletically he is Steve Young.

Do the "look at me" actions of Shaq and Oliver bother you?

Been a long time since our team was the one that could run their mouths a little. Loved it. -

Moon McNabb McNair Vick Williams Culpepper and Cunningham with Williams is kind of a toss up at 5. I'll give the Super Bowl MVP the benefit of the doubt. Yes, yes I was. -
From Kelly 2 Allen - WGRZ extended interview
Luka replied to One Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Jim will be a great influence/has been a great influence on Josh. My favorite part is Jim telling Josh CALL YOUR OWN PLAY. He's right in Josh needs to take control of this thing. He's a humble kid, you can tell he was raised right and he might be shying away from telling Daboll how he wants it, especially with Daboll screaming in his face a couple times this year. Josh is the leader of the offense whether Daboll is here or not. As Jim said, communication with the rest of the offense, being confident in what he's seeing. He has the acumen and the talent he just needs to continue to build the confidence. -
I adopted the Gators myself during my first time living in Florida in 2004. Bills weren't on TV often and I needed a team to watch for my football fix. College is opposite because a lot of people go to school in Florida so you end up with kids and parents that all become fans of that program. They just don't start going to Rays and Dolphins games.

Brandt: "People are crazy to tell Josh Allen not to run"
Luka replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lamar takes some shots at the end of runs sometimes. I'm torn on the whole sliding thing, seems like that's when QBs get hit the worst. Either need to slide early or take the guy on IMO. -
Child abuse isn't a joke.

OK boomer. I saw Barry and Thurman but that was already a backfield at OSU.

Allen had the least amount of starts coming out of college. That's the reason he was considered a project above all else. Lack of experience. Comparing his 2nd year to Russ' second year is a bit misleading because Russ started for 4 years in college. Josh had 649 pass attempts over two full seasons, Russ had nearly 1,500 attempts over 4 years. He had 527 in ONE season. That's a huge gap in experience. Lets just be happy we got our guy and he's improving every week.

I'd take a back field of Earl Campbell and Barry Sanders.

John Brown is leading the AFC in receiving
Luka replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's Josh's number 1 option at the moment and it was great to see Josh not shying away from him. Just throw him the ball. I still think a big and physical guy that can make the acrobatic catches, the 50/50 ball along the sidelines and in the endzone should be a priority this off season. The Bills still need that reason for teams to play zone. A lot of DCs have taken their chances and played man to man and blitzed Allen because they feel they have favorable matchups in the secondary. You put a bigger guy on the other side that teams feel like they have to double to keep their corner from getting "Mossed" down the side line and you completely open up the offense. Allen's arm strength has proven time and again that it can shred zone defenses at all three levels. -
Tremaine Edmunds speech to team on Sat.night
Luka replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair, they've kept him hidden behind the line of scrimmage and people are seeing him execute the play that is called. He is something special when's unleashed on blitzes and in coverage. Play calling on both sides of the ball looked much better against Miami. Attacking the QB, simplified offense that actually called normal, NFL style plays that are known to work at timely moments. The staff at this point has got to learn to unleash these young guys every week. They don't need to be coddled, they need to be put in a position to be dominant. Sometimes that means they'll have to swallow their pride and move away from their coveted schemes once in awhile.
