Elam's ceiling is a bigger and faster Tre White. Having a great and willing leader in White is a perfect situation for Elam. Shakir makes me think of Robert Woods with some Beasley mixed it. There's a glaring hole at slot receiver, if he can take that over, that's a huge win. They don't need him to be amazing, just get open when you have the advantage and keep teams honest. By all accounts Elam, Cook, and Shakir are all high quality guys in almost ever sense. They all work hard, have the ability, and could fill huge holes. Very exciting.

I don't think I've ever been more convinced a draft pick will pan out. He might not end up at Tre's level, but I have almost no doubt that he's going to be a strong #2 at the least. I mean, look at this kid. I've only ever dreamt of being that cool. It's not the over the top, look at my necklace, cool/confidence. He just is. Plus he's got the athletic ability, notebooks, and work ethic to back it up. Kid is going to be good.

At some point, maybe during the press conference or another interview, Von mentions that he was very anxious during the process until he signed the contract. He said it was a really tough day. He just left a great situation where they won the Super Bowl and he's on the cusp of leaving that for something mostly unknown. Once he signed the contract his friends started talking about, "oh you're smiling again" or something like that. The way he was acting made total sense if you think about what was going on in his head the whole time.

Levi deserves a lot of blame. With 7 seconds to go, he was one on one with Kelce. He bit on a quick out fake by Kelce and let him get way too far up field. Maybe he was expecting someone to come down hard, idk, but a quick out doesn't help them. The only thing on both plays that ***** helps is getting up field as fast as possible. ***** ***** ***** Epic failure from everyone on that drive. McD talks so much about situational football. I have a hard time believing they didn't practice this situation at some point and they looked like they had no idea what to do. *****&#&***#($)@(&*#@*$#)$(#*(@(*

Cover 1 All-22 Film Room - Bills passing offense against the Jags
elroy16 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bless their hearts going through that pile of *****. Thank you for the recap, I can't spend 50 minutes of my life reliving that "performance." -
I saw the date and was like, no way that's the Tuel game. Eight freaking years ago, where does the time go? I watch Bills games via streaming so am ~20 seconds behind TV. I had two TV's going, one with the local game and one streaming the Bills. Right before the pick I saw TD on the other screen on the bottom bar and was like, ***** I ruined a TD (thinking the Bills scored) and then that happened. It was quite the rollercoaster of emotions. I now cover the bottom of the second TV when watching two games.

That's just McD, he never wants anyone to get too high, especially a rookie. His instincts are very impressive for a rookie, especially a DE. You could see it in college and it's fantastic to see that the NFL isn't too big or too fast for him. He got dinged by some scouts/pundits/teams for his "clean up" sacks in college, but really that was him playing smart football. He doesn't fly up field and take himself out of the plays. He goes outside shoulder and reads the QB, he's a great compliment to Hughes on the other side.. He'll never have the bend like Von Miller or Reggie White, but he doesn't need it to have a huge impact. His run D is super impressive as well. He can play any down and you aren't worried that he'll be exploited. I saw a clip from @yardsperpass where he sniffed out a screen pass and forced an incompletion. The kid is playing at a level I would have been thrilled with at this time next year. Great work by the Bills scouts and front office.

Beth Mowins to call Bills-Texans
elroy16 replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. These crews do college football and NFL if not other sports as well. For the money that is made by the NFL, they really should have NFL only announcers that bring more to the table. Otherwise we get decent play by play, some basic info (College, former teams, etc) and not much else. -
Beth Mowins to call Bills-Texans
elroy16 replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My only issue with Beth, and a lot of other announcers, is they don't bring a whole lot extra to the game. There isn't a ton of, "I watched some film and saw this from the defense, let's see if they can slow down the pass game with it." or whatever else, ala Romo. Granted Romo is top tier, so that's a high bar, but it would be nice if more announcers could do that. Beth and most announcers are just, this happened, that happened, good play, some excitement, but not much in depth stuff. That's probably good for a lot of fans, but for people with more knowledge of the game, they aren't adding a lot to the broadcast. At least she isn't either of the Sunday night guys. They are both ***** terrible. Al Michaels is like a ***** old Madden, half his comments are super vague and 2 minutes late. Collinsworth is just a knob slobber with almost no objectify. Everything is great or grand for one guy and he makes excuses for everything. He is terrible. The state of NFL announcing is pretty blah. -
Julio Jones?

That is very, very good news.

Official Whiskey of the Buffalo Bills

Got skrewball one time on vacation while looking for something new to try. I didn't realize it was peanut butter flavor until the guy at the register said he really likes the stuff and it's even better mixed with some other liquor to make PBJ shots. At that point I didn't want to be a dick and say peanut butter flavored whiskey sounds ***** terrible, so I got it. I should have been a dick, stuff is not for me. -
Top 100 Throws of the 2020 NFL Season (Josh Allen disrespected)
elroy16 replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This list is pretty terrible. #14 might be the most ridiculous. It's just Mahomes rolling out, stepping up, and throwing to a wide open Kelce. Even Barkley's is kinda weak. A nice throw and catch, but this list is littered with deep throws to guys that are pretty open, that doesn't do it for me. 1 and 2 are a toss up, can't argue too much. -
You're privy to the conversations, or lack there of, that Star and the bills have had this off-season? You're also familiar with Star's current physical condition? Diggs skipped the first Ota and apparently was up until 3am on twitch, better cut him too.

Dan Campbell wants a live Lion at Detroit pratices.

Train wreck for sure. -
Five pages and not a single mention of the article a month ago about him working on his speed and quickness? https://www.golongtd.com/p/what-fuels-motor-devin-singletary If he's adding burst and strength, only poor blocking should hold him back. I think the RB room has a lot of potential, but it's hard to ignore the poor production last year.

Cover 1 breakdown on Gregory Rousseau
elroy16 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Awesome breakdown. Those guys do great work. You can see that there is a lot more (obviously) to the narrative that he had a bunch of coverage sacks. When I first heard that, I thought of a guy that maybe lucked into a number of sacks, but the breakdown shows he's got good awareness and he's doing a lot more than just picking up coverage/effort sacks. For arguments sake, you can label them that, but I think there's a lot more to what he's doing than just giving effort. He's doing a good job of playing the run, reading the QB's movement, and overall doing his 1/11th, which you know this staff preaches. I wonder how much they talked to him about his poor pro day. How much was he training for those drills versus working on actual football drills? I remember one of the Embedded episodes, they showed Beane hoping Gabe Davis would run a slow 40 so his draft stock would drop, I wonder if they secretly hoped something similar would happen with Greg. He did have the number one 10 yard split of the draft class and on the team, so he's got burst. -
RD 6, pick 19 (203): Marquez Stevenson, WR (Houston)
elroy16 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like to make assumptions based on highlights, but there is no way in hell Stevenson doesn't make the 53 after seeing those highlights. He is so quick and fast, but much more importantly has great vision and awareness. I can't believe he lasted to the 6th round. -

Not a full game, but I had the Jeff tuel int TD ruined by the scrolling bar. I stream so am a little bit behind during games. I usually have a smaller TV showing red zone or another game. I usually pause the second TV for a minute so it's not behind, but sometimes I flip around and don't do that. Bills were at the door step, I glance at the other TV, see TD, we'll that's disappointing but sweet, then chiefs TD, wtf... Oh mother f&$#. Was quite the range of emotions. I use a cardboard box to cover the bottom part of the TV now.
