  1. I can't be the only one that hears Jerry Seinfeld in their head every time they read "that's a shame," right?
  2. Letting them heal up a bit I imagine. They had a physical game against the Ravens and another one coming. It's late in the year, I imagine the hour of hitting won't benefit them that much compared to some extra rest.
  3. Monday is going to be rough regardless. My tip is water, water, and Gatorade. 32 oz water before the game, 32 oz water at halftime, and a 32 oz Gatorade at the end of the game. I usually stick to the hard stuff because if I only drink beer, I'm too full to drink any water and I feel just awful the next day.
  4. Looking at their stats, they're definitely taking the Big Ben rookie year route and running the ball a ton. Please let the Bills get up early and then expose Hodges.
  5. 1. I have seen fewer and fewer examples of this. Are there specific plays from the Ravens game you saw this? 2. He's certainly struggling with the deep ball. 3. I'd need evidence of this too, he's been much better. Still needs to work on the fine accuracy, but he's not missing guys and I don't think "very inaccurate" is even close to what his short area accuracy currently is. 4. He's gotten a lot better about that, would love to have some examples. 5. He's gotten a lot better about that too. The fumble against the Ravens was when he got hammered in the pocket, it happens. Anyone saying they aren't nervous about this game is on some quality prescription drugs.
  6. Holy ***** am I happy you aren't making personnel decisions for this team.
  7. Don't forget the Ravens drafted a TE in the first round before they drafted Jackson.
  8. Tre is going to get paid and he's going to deserve it all. He's got the desire and ability to be great, he was soaking up everything Bruce had to say. I've got a soft spot for Tre because he's got a kid around the same age as mine and when they showing him having a good time with his kid it melts my heart. Like @Rc2catch said, I'm going to riot if they let him walk.
  9. The sacks are what gets the attention and players paid, but man, those run stops were gorgeous. Avoiding a reach block and stringing out Collins and then taking on a double team, holding his ground against an elite G, and making the tackle, just GD fun to watch. These happen so fast in the game, there's too much going on, so I really appreciate these breakdowns. I've watched the run stops about 15 times each. His strength for his size is something else. Let's not forget he played a ton of 1 tech in college and not as much 3t like he is now. The future is bright for this kid.
  10. If you're referring to the play I think you are, that was Mckenzie. It looked like Josh tried to pull it out but Mckenzie held onto it. I wish they'd run Gore out of single back instead of shotgun. He seems to do better with a little bit more of a head of steam. Singletary and Josh running the read option / RPOs is money. The most encouraging part of the day for me was how many solid throws Josh made out of tight pockets. The oline did a good job today, but not great. They were getting pushed back a bit and instead of Josh bailing from the pocket, he stood in and made quality throws. Josh is progressing very, very nicely.
  11. They shouldn't have stopped the clock on that long completion, chargers got lucky and got an extra 10 to 15 seconds. Edit. I called it before the announcer
  12. I don't love it, I don't hate it. I think if they had done the regular blue Buffalo with the zubaz design as the stripe, that woulda been pretty cool. With the current design it's a bit much and there's no distinction between the Buffalo and the stripe. Cool cause though.
  13. I was surprised he knew that. "Stanley little brother." Tre was cracking me up when someone would answer with a correct answer, "that sounds about right." Tre is hilarious.
  14. I'm very excited for and about Duke. He could be the big body, open when he's not open, type of receiver they hoped Kelvin Benjamin was going to be. It was only one game, but he caught contested passes, ran strong routes, and gained tough yards after the catch. The bye week might have come at a perfect time for him and the offense. Get some guys healthy, find out what was working, and find more ways to get Duke involved in moving the chains and scoring in the red zone. I can't wait to see him show off those balls skills on deeper passes too. Strong routes like that can help get first downs and score in the red zone. As easy as it is to get excited about what he can do on the field, it's easy to get excited for Duke the person to succeed. After the game Duke said before the game he cried while reflecting on how much he's been through and how long it took him to get here. If he slips up or starts slacking, I would be very, very surprised. @Shaw66 mentioned the Lee Smith interview. If you don't listen to the whole thing, the Duke part is great. Like Shaw said, Smith is almost at a loss for words. He says whatever "it" is that makes people different or special, Duke has it. Smith says he works his tail off and guys gravitate to him and want him on the field. It starts around 4:55.
  15. The directTV recap doesn't show this play unfortunately because I swear Mariota called out a fake snap right as they moved. It seems like a hard count with movement timed to simulate the snap should be a penalty. If he didn't call out a fake snap, then I don't have a problem with it.
  16. Strong route by Duke for the TD with good hand usage. If he can continue to get open like this in the red zone and use his body to give Allen a nice target, he might be a nice weapon.
  17. Yup, heads up play by Allen. If you watch the replay, you can see Gore is probably going to get stopped, by the edge defender that totally lost contain. Of course it doesn't save the timestamp. It happens at 10:24. I was not expecting Gore to rip of 8-14 yarders when they knew it was coming. That and suffocating run D is so fun to watch. I forget who it was, someone from the O-line I believe, but they said it was a matter of pride within the team for the offense to finish the game off. Every other game the defense has had to stop the opponent to win the game, this time the offense got to finish it off.
  18. 3-1 with a very good looking defense, I'm happy with where they are at. Obviously a big step back on offense this game, but the pats defense is playing at an extremely high level. Maybe the concussion will be a good thing for Allen. He needs some time to sit and realize the hero ball nonsense is almost always hurting the team. Take a sack, throw it away, anything but these terrible throws and big hits. I think Barkley can get a win in Tenn, then get healthy over the bye, and let's roll.
  19. So if he gets one sack on Brady, but gets pushed around and abused all game, you're good? What if he doesn't get any sacks but is constantly in Brady's face and causes a pick or two? You're still going to be unhappy because he didn't show up in the stat sheet? Regardless of what's said about a rookie, thinking they'll be unstoppable in anyway, shape, or form is hilariously naive. I feel like if he came in and was playing like Aaron Donald, you'd still B word.
  20. They've faced two premier RB's and as a team have done very well. If that's the worst they'll do with Edmunds at MLB, while continuing the have an elite pass defense, I fail to see the problem.
  21. The Bills were 29th in the league against the run that year. The Bills are 8th against the run this year. Maybe tackles by the MLB doesn't correlate 1 to 1 with the success of the defense.
  22. My only hope is AB freaks out on the sideline and punches brady and belicheat in the face. A man can dream, right?
  23. Did anyone read the Lane Kiffin story on ESPN? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27638015/trash-talk-mattress-fires-flying-projector-lane-kiffin-year-tennessee McDermott's approach >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kiffin's approach You obviously have to have confidence, but the over the top nonsense doesn't work long term. The Kiffin story just made me think of Rex. Anyway, back to what matters. This doesn't look good for the Bengals. The stars are lining up for a W, just gotta execute.
