  1. It's completey unbelievable that a multibillion dollar league does not have professional, full time referees for every game. Especially, when you consider how thick and obtuse the rule book has become.
  2. Bill it is great to see you back and posting! That's the most important thought for me.
  3. Exactly. And that's what too many people forget. They want to just blame EJ and call it a day. But, they ignore the fact that EJ actually kept fighting and made the plays that put the bills up by 4 late in the 4th quarter...AND that the refs blew 2 extremely critical calls at the most important time of the game.. Both in favor of the Jags. If the refs don't give the Jags that score, how different does this game and the story about EJ's performance get written?
  4. Exactly... Put the 2 bad calls in a row, on a game winning drive... And you have the league once again deciding the outcome of a game... More than the players on the field. Yes, the Bills did plenty to lose that game and in many ways deserve this loss. But, they also did plenty to fight back into the game and get the lead. So, to those that say don't let it come down to one play... I say the Bills made plenty of plays but were once again screwed by the refs when it counted the most.
  5. This is stupid.... I've seen more commercials than football. I literally see 1 out of every 3 plays... And that 1 play is either choppy or blurry.
  6. Same here. Its frustrating to say the least, especially when I consider the money I paid to DirecTV to watch all the Bills games.
  7. I feel like I'm in 2003. 2nd down... mario is closing in on bortles.... Wait for it.. Wait for it... Wait... Its 3rd and 21! Wtf. About to hike the ball.... Wait for it.. Wait...refs calling. Penalty (frozen screen). Commercial... No streaming problem... Thnkfully its working better! Whew, i almost missed another kohls commerical. I assume the jags punted?
  8. Typical streaming for me.... Missed all but 3 random seconds in the Dareus piece, waiting for it to buffer repeatedly. Now they go to commercial... Not a single problem; clear, beautiful, uninterrupted picture!
  9. See klos' post. I'm not saying the league shouldn't stream games online. I'm saying they should do that AND have the game on TV. That way fans can choose which is the best way to view the game for themselves.
  10. This is part of my issue. I pay for the Sunday ticket plan that lets me stream games. I do this specifically so I can watch all the Bills' games. Now will I get reimbursed by DirecTV because I'm not actually getting all the games? I get the league wants to do this, but they should still show the game through the traditional channels as well. Oh and for all the witty guys that say, simply plug in an HDMI cable to your tv. What about those of us that are in cheap hotels without HDMI ports on our TV? What about for the technically challenged folks that still can't program their VCR? What about those of us that have crappy throttled back internet? There's all sorts of reasons this game is gonna be a pain in the ass to watch. Hence, all the more reason to stream it on Yahoo, but still have it on network or sunday ticket tv.
  11. I like how they feature penalty flags so prominently in the logo. How can the league continue to let penaties be such a huge part of every game? Everyone sees the discrepancies and influence the refs have on the games... Even the Brits.
  12. I could argue that the better passing statisitics are due to better CB play this year. Or do you contend that dropping Mario and Kyle into coverage, at the expense of QB pressure, is what's lowering the opposing pass yards? Would the defense not be better if we had our current level of CB play AND last year's pass rush? It seems to me they've decided to go all in and stop the run, which our run defense seems significantly improved. However, in a passing league, when they face top teir QBs, they need to adjust. That's what they're not doing, IMO. They're not making the proper adjustments to put the DL in the proper position to succeed to their ability. Could it be that Rex's scheme of confusion and moving guys around has been figured out by the league and he's unable or unwilling to adjust and keep up with the better offenses? And this line that they've done good... Except for when they faced good QBs like Brady and Dalton. Well, isn't that special. So we should be happy with beating up the little guys, but the big guys are just too good for us. That's not the defense I want nor think we should accept. I will agree with you, we're only 6 games into an entirely new coaching staff and scheme. Expectations should be, and should have been, tempered with the reality that few teams click right off the bat. But that still doesn't alter the fact that up to this point, the defense is greatly underperforming compared to their salaries, previous years' efforts, and coaching reputations. That needs to change.
  13. This team lacks heart. They play uninspired, undisciplined, heartless. Its unworthy of our support more often than not.
  14. Bills D might be good... But they get almost no pressure and suck at getting turnovers. Stats are stats, but this D is a shell of what we fielded last year. Offense... The more things change... The more they stay the same. Mediocre play calling and piss poor effort and once again we have a teams that doesn't look like it can compete in the NFL
  15. Words sometimes cannot convey the sincerity of our wishes, but that is all I have. A sincere wish for Bill to get well with a full recovery. Bills Nation is better because of him.
  16. You see this with every aspect of the team... Many fans patience wore out in about 2008, and understandably so. We just want a winning team.
  17. As I watch the games, that's my thought as well (and it was my primary concern when Rex was hired and brought his entire defensive staff with him). We seem to be installing a Rex scheme and making the existing players fit, rather than saying these are the guys I got, let's play to their strengths. The genius of Rex's past defenses have been their ability to generate QB pressure and confusion without elite talent. The problem now is he has elite talent but he's using that as though he has to disguise the pressure. Disguised or not our DLine can generate pass rush. Someone else said it... But they seem to be using a lot of trickery and movement to fix something that doesn't need fixing. Ever consider that maybe the Giants went conservative in the 2nd half because they were controlling the game? The one time they needed to score (the drive after our TD), they did it with ease. Not every team in the league continues to run the score up and pad their stats and egos.
  18. While I completely agree with you, I bolded the statement regarding Tyrod for a reason. I've seen quite a few people post this sentiment. However, I feel it's less about Tyrod and more about how Roman responds. In the past, opposing teams figured out our offense and our coaching staff was unable to make the necessary adjustments from week to week, and within the game. Roman, I think, will do that. So, I'm less concerned about Tyrod. I still have concerns. It's a long season and preparing week in and week out, dealing with the stress, the losses that will come, the injuries, etc.; they all take their toll on starting QBs. So, as I see it, Tyrod Has all the skills to be a good QB in this league. What we'll find out in week 10,12.. 15 is whether he's a starting QB or just a really good back up.
  19. All you have to consider when discussing Marrone's legacy is his very own quote... "Don't confuse effort with results." A winning ecord of 9-7 does not, in itself, constitute changing the culture of this team. There was only 1 game last year that I think anyone considered we absolutely would win. The Raiders game... .and we lost. If Marrone and Hacket were still coaching this team, I don't think anyone would truly believe this team was a winner. We would all hope. We would pray. But in the end, that's what we'd be left with. ..hope and prayers. And, that, is not winning culture.
  20. The league had been going this way for years. More and more calls are subjective, giving the refs more and more control over the outcome of a game. For years I've assumed its so that the league could grant favor to select teams and players; thereby, alllowing for preconceived story lines to develop and promote future games. Imagine the ratings if Cleveland and Buffalo play a playoff game together. Now, imagine a Denver and Colts game. Who do you think brings in the better story lines, better "drama", better TV ratings. That's not to say the league is picking winners and losers. But, its a whole lot easier to win when you get one or two drives extended because of a mysterious defensive holding. Every year myself and a few friends pick the games each week, and pick the SuperBowl teams in August. In the last couple of years, we've gotten extremely good at picking Superbowl teams, just by going on who's good and who would be favored by the league. 5 years ago, we'd be lucky if one of us even got one of the Championship game participants. Why there's more this year than any other... I'm not sure. But, it makes watching pretty much any game sans the Bills almost unbearable! This year.. Is the record number. Hence, more penalties this year than last or any other. You're sense is correct.
  21. I agree. Smart and Classy putting EJ in. It's a divisional game, no sense appearing to run the score up on the fins. EJ is a good kid and team mate, it goes a long way to helping him stay involved and a part of the team. And it's never a bad idea to get some good tape on EJ if they ever wanted to shop him in the future. Karlos botched that, however, with his 41yd TD run.
  22. For the first time in a long time... I watched the 2nd half of a Bills game and had no worries they would somehow find a way to blow the lead and the game. That pretty much says it all. Whether the Fins are this bad or the Bills this good, I'm not sure yet. But this Bills team just played one of the best all around games that we've seen in at least a decade. Does anyone one doubt that this team is headed in the right direction?
  23. Roman is easily the best addition to this team. It feels so strange to watch the Bills on offense and feel as though its a professional football team. I only wish we could somehow lock him into a long term contract.
  24. EJ comes in... And we score a TD!! Just like preseason!
