  1. Did you need more starts from Jeff Tuel or Brian Brohm? They were WAY better when given the chance than Peterman. It’s not obsessive but I believe that you earn you opportunity. To date, Peterman has been given the opportunity that hundreds of better QBs haven’t and failed miserably. I’m not sure why he deserves more chances but Tuel, Brohm, and Levi Brown didn’t? If a guy stinks, he stinks. That’s one thing that all of those guys showed when given the chance. To Peterman’s credit it sounds like he is improving. The question though was never, can this guy look decent in shorts? They didn’t call him “Nervous Nate” at Pitt because of the way that he looked in mini-camp. What does he do when the pressure comes? That we won’t see again for a while. From what we have seen though he is awful under those circumstances.
  2. Yes, if Peterman has 15 TDs and 4 INTs and is 10-0 but the Bills think Allen is ready he will play. Which scenario do you think is more likely: A) Bills think Allen is ready Week 1 B) Peterman is 10-0 with wins at Baltimore, home to the Chargers, at the Vikings, at the Packers, home to the Titans, at the Texans, at the Colts, home to the Pats, home to the Bears and at the Jets with a 3:1 TD:INT ratio That is your hypotethical. Nate Peterman’s mom would laugh at that. 31 of the 33 QBs drafted in the top 10 over the last 20 years started during year 1 at some point. I don’t know why you expect Allen to not be a part of that group because of Nathan Peterman?!? That’s beyond crazy talk.
  3. I don’t believe that they would subject themselves to it failing. McCarron will be the guy if Allen isn’t ready and it will be Allen if he is ready.
  4. As soon as he is ready isn't that complicated. The Bills traded up in the 1st round to get him. He isn’t a part of some mythical QB competition. He will be the starter as soon as the Bills think he’s ready regardless of who is in front of him now. Alex Smith played at an MVP level for much of last year and was jettisoned. Allen is their guy. He’s the guy that they are betting their careers on. If they are right, we move. If they are wrong, they are looking for work in 2 years. That’s the nature of the NFL. We disagree on their plan. Their plan isn’t “let’s see which guy gives us the best chance to win?” Their plan is “as soon as Josh is ready, he plays.” It may not be week 1 or even 8. It may be 2019. There isn’t anyone though that will be keeping him on the bench when they deem him “ready.” That’s part of the reason that the Bills didn’t chase Keemun, Cousins or even keep Tyrod. They wanted a clear path for their guy, Allen. Yep
  5. No chance, imagine if it failed? That would throw this staff into the crosshairs. They won’t subject themselves to that. If Allen is ready, it’s Allen, if not, it’s McCarron.
  6. No, Josh Allen will be given the job as soon as he is ready. This is where the disagreement is. The Bills aren’t “trying out 3 guys to see who their guy will be.” They invested HEAVILY in a guy and have staked their careers on it. They aren’t testing them all out!! They are waiting for Allen to be ready. Those 2 things are very, very different. Getting picked 6 times in 52 attempts isn’t better than zero attempts.
  7. ...and so it begins https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/206321-josh-allen-to-start-getting-some-1st-team-reps/
  8. It won’t have anything to do with experience. Getting picked 6 times in 52 passes isn’t a check in the experience column. It raises a simple concern, “maybe this guy can’t play at this level?” Playing and sucking isn’t an advantage. If Allen isn’t ready it will be because his lower body mechanics or grasp of the offense aren’t there. Experience isn’t playing any role in this QB competition. The Bills don’t have QB experience. It is 100% based on Allen’s preparedness and nothing else.
  9. Brees was also the 1st pick of the 2nd round and had a bunch of NCAA records. He, like Rivers, was projected as a franchise guy. McCarron and Peterman were not taken as franchise guys. You don’t have 163 and 190 guys drafted ahead of you if a team believes that you are “the answer” at QB. It’s a little apples and oranges.
  10. Those guys haven’t shown that yet!! That’s the point. They don’t have a guy that has had some NFL success. Both McCarron and Peterman have played but neither has been good. Do Peterman’s 52 career pass attempts (6 of which were intercepted) put him way ahead of Allen?!? Of course not!! Allen won’t be sitting early because of the other guy’s success. IF he sits early it’s because the Bills don’t think that he is ready. It has nothing to do with the experience of those in front of him. They are sacrificial lambs. They are there IN CASE Allen isn’t ready. That’s their role.
  11. That whole 1st day of minicamp tea leaf reading was from you or someone there? They said that they had a plan and not once have they indicated that he wouldn’t start early. The Browns went on record. The Bills never said anything but “it’s a competition.” You and I clearly read that differently. If you get through the BS they are saying “as soon as we think Allen is ready we hand him the keys.” Now, that may not be day one but the rep count at minicamp couldn’t possibly be less relevant. He’s not the one that needs to “wow.” He already did “wow” which is why they traded up to get him. He just needs to show that he is ready.
  12. Things to eliminate: - Train Horn - CBS/Fox coming back from commercial showing Niagara Falls or someone tossing chicken wings - Billy Buffalo - Urinating in the sinks (this has improved)
  13. I’m not sure (think it’s like 9). They started doing it in the NBA a few years ago and it makes total sense. Sports are the only place that asks “do you want to keep going?” My gym membership, Sirius, cell phone, cable, etc... all renew until you tell them to stop. Sports haven’t quite figured that out yet. They have to re-sell everyone each year. If it just rolled along (even with a small increase agreed upon in advance) they would have a much higher retention in bad years. The consumers like it because it allows them to spread it out more. It’s a no-brainer in my humble opinion.
  14. - Better beer options - Gates open 30 minutes earlier - Cell phone charging station - 12 month payment plans
  15. GB, what are your thoughts on McCarron? I don’t know if I remember reading your opinion on him at any point. To me, he has a chance to be a reliable backup that can give you a few weeks if needed. He feels a little “Brian Hoyerish.” McCarron is a nice addition for the price, but probably not a starter in this league.
  16. Ha ha ha, yeah. By the way are you still quoting yourself? If you think that the Bills are eliminating the 7th overall pick from consideration, at MINICAMP, because of Peterman and McCarron, you are crazy.
  17. If I had something to say I would say it. If everyone would subscribe to that theory the content would be much more interesting. Instead, we need another thread about someone saying “trust the process” or “the Bills get no respect” or “I can’t believe ____ reporter picked the Bills to win ____ games” or “Tyrod sucks” or “Peterman sucks” or “Allen sucks” or “the Patriots suck.” There hasn’t been an interesting thread has been on here since before the draft. It sounds like the majority of people believe the same. It’s obviously a quiet time of year but people are starting garbage topics just to start them.
  18. I wasn’t alive yet but I’d bet that the 70’s Oakland A’s were a blast. I believe that they had the 2 guys swap spouses and brawled in the dugout. The Showtime Lakers were interesting as well.
  19. It was merged with another thread. When a conversation is already going on new threads are merged.
  20. Looks like Fairburn’s job will be available soon. If there are any aspiring journalists out there, shoot your shot. http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/threads/buffalo-bills-beat-reporter-advance-media-new-york.129076/
  21. Thanks, I figured I’d get flamed for saying it but others must be thinking it. The quality since the draft is as bad as I ever remember it being. In the past, the summer would be discussions on position battles or roster spots. Those conversations were never great but they were WAY better than a bunch of threads of people whining about “_____ media guy’s” record prediction.
  22. I think that I’m going to start treating the board like school and take the summers off. Look at the 1st page and see if there are any interesting discussions? I realize that nothing goes on this time of year but come on!!
  23. I do have 10 career INTs (9 in a Bills uniform). I appreciate the respect. ??
  24. I didn’t remember adding the Jags app? Maybe I did and then just deleted that garbage immediately.
