Pro Bowler is certainly arbitrary. It isn’t like they had 5 though and we thought that they should have 8. Teams that win 13 or 14 games generally have more than 1 guy, other than the QB, recognized as one of the best at their position. The Ravens have 9 guys I think. Their roster has a lot more high end talent than the Bills. I guess I’m less worried about extending high end role players. That’s what I consider Bernard, Groot, Cook and Shakir. I think Benford has potential to be a star. You can find quality players easily. You’ve listed a bunch. You can’t find HOFers, at positions of need easily. That’s what we are talking about. The quality player approach has had the Bills competitive for years. They haven’t won anything despite a, soon-to-be, MVP QB. I would NEVER not trade for Myles Garrett because I’m worried about money for Bernard or Shakir.

It’s much riskier, IMO, to allow Josh Allen to approach the age of 30 with only one other Pro Bowler on the roster. They have exactly 1 AFC Championship appearance, at this point, to show for his career. He’s the best offensive player, and arguably the best player, that’s ever played for the Bills. The Bills need to push their chips in every chance that they get. The goal, at this point, isn’t to develop the Javon Solomon’s of the world. It’s to win a championship. That’s why the Bills are the betting favorites to land Garrett if he moves.

Didn’t the Bills add Miller at 33 and not 30? We really can’t use those numbers interchangeably. In theory, you’d have the 3 best years of Garrett as opposed to Von.

Lol, I love threads like this. 😂😂 Watching fans overvalue their own assets, while undervaluing the assets of everyone else is a tradition like no other. I’m not here to burst anyone’s bubble, but if your offer starts with, “one of our 2nds from this year, Epenesa and a pick in 2026” you don’t know who Myles Garrett is. 😂😂 It will probably cost something like, “your 1st, a 2nd & Groot or Oliver.” You aren’t trading for “a slight upgrade.” You’re trading for, arguably, the best defensive player in football. He’s a future HOFer that hasn’t reached 30. I’d be on board with it. I think Rousseau is a really nice player and developing. I’d probably include him for the simple fact that I could avoid paying both of them. edit: If I did deal Rousseau in this hypothetical package, I’d take a DE with the rd. 2 pick left (I’d love one of the Ohio State guys there).

Who are some candidates for OC if Brady gets a HC job?

No doubt!! The talent on this roster is average maybe even a touch below. If you remove Josh and take a league average QB, like Purdy, they win like 6 or 7 games. What this team has is an edge. They play with a chip. Raise the talent level and keep this edge. If that happens they could be dominant for the forseeable future.

The draft is one of my favorite sporting events of the year. I’m already dozens of mock drafts in 😂😂. With 5 picks in rounds 4 and 5, it’s realistic to flip that into a 3rd & 2 4ths. The Bills SHOULD be able to pick 6 times in the first 135 picks. They’d still have more picks but it’s realistic to expect 6+ guys that’ll actually play (plus the 6ths). They have a chance to get a high end WR, fix the DL while adding depth there, add secondary depth and just select some guys that slip. It’s a GREAT opportunity to raise the talent level of a team that, despite winning A LOT of football games, still only had 2 pro bowlers.

Mostert has 64 yards rushing since November 3rd. He isn’t a part of that offense anymore.

Do you want the Bills to win this week?
Kirby Jackson replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is a lot of data behind it though. You can go round by round and will find more starters, pro bowlers, all pros, etc.. are picked earlier. While there are guys like Milano and Taron, the data says you’re much more likely to add impact players earlier. If they get something like 2 number 1’s and 2 number 2’s to slide back a few spots, that’s bad for the Bills. If they start to add talent around Maye, they will quickly be the 2nd best team in the AFCE. I’d rather they don’t get the chance to start closing the gap that much. Let’s keep the whole division bad. -

I voted don’t care and just be healthy. That’s my main concern. I almost lean toward “no” otherwise. If the Pats were locked into like the 3rd pick, I wouldn’t care. At 1 though, all that they need is one desperate team to make a Bryce Young type of trade and it jumpstarts their revival. I like Maye and think that they already have their QB. If they get a haul for that pick, they have a chance to be really good in a year or 2. I think that the rest of the division is heading backwards. I’d just assume as many more years as we can have, in Josh’s prime, where the division is complete trash. -
Wild Card date and time (rumor/speculation)

That makes sense to me. While this game has star power in Josh Allen, it doesn’t have many other “stories” (unless it’s the Bengals). The Broncos are just kind of there and the Bills/Dolphins “rivalry” doesn’t captivate the nation. I was hoping for Saturday afternoon instead, but Sunday at 1 works for me. -
We scored a lot except a few times (specifically Baltimore). When teams defend you well, you need guys that just win on their own. Obviously Josh Allen does that regularly. James Cook makes some plays on his own as well. In the passing game that was CLEARLY lacking. That’s why the Bills traded a 3rd for 1/2 of a year of Cooper. Sometimes you just need to chuck it down in his direction and hope that he wins because he’s better than the guy across from him. That’s what #1 WRs do. That’s what he did last week. Coleman is also capable of making some plays where he just wins vs. the DB. It’s less consistent though because he rarely has space. Throws to Coleman are constantly in tight coverage but his ball skills are quite good. The difference with stars and role players is when teams have a good defensive scheme (as Baltimore did). When Brady can scheme guys open everywhere, “everybody eats” is fine. When he can’t, you need talent to win or you get trounced (as they did in that game). The whole offense was unlocked when Cooper got here (forget about snap percentages). Teams can no longer jam the middle and challenge you to win on the outside. That absolutely is a function of an outside threat. Again, the Bills traded a 3rd because, to their credit, they saw that.

I picked Denver. While I’d be really surprised if Miami beat the Bills here, playing a team 3 times makes me hesitate a little. The Bengals are WAY down the list for me. I’d be really nervous about the Bills defense stopping Burrow. The Bills would score their points but I’m not looking for another playoff game where I hope that the Bills have the ball last to win.

Reread what I wrote. I’m assuming that’s directed at me. I said, “at this point” and “obviously, it’s early.” He is 100% behind other guys recently picked around him, at that position. It doesn’t mean that his career is over. At the same time, the Bills would be in much better shape if they called “Calen Bullock” instead of “Cole Bishop.” If you disagree, I question which one of us isn’t understanding the safety position. 🙄
