  1. To be clear, I’m not saying that he was an all-pro or anything. It was more that he was top 15ish. If he goes to the Steelers, that’s an upgrade.
  2. The Steelers are the perfect place for him right? Rodgers was actually pretty good this year. He’s an idiot but Tomlin has been able to check idiots. He could give them a 1-2 year window to compete.
  3. I think everything is on the table. What came out of the end of season press conferences is that there isn’t enough talent at the top of the depth chart. I could see them trading for Garrett obviously (or Crosby as Plan B). I could see them taking a swing at a Pro Bowl level player in FA (Charvarious Ward maybe). I could see them going up in the draft if someone at one of those positions starts to slip (Luther Burden or Mike Green for example). They are going to add multiple “elite” level players IMO.
  4. Congrats to Josh. I think that this award mattered a lot more than the MVP does in other sports or years in he NFL. Josh has been one of the most unfairly scrutinized/criticized athletes that’s ever lived. He’s been a dominant player and the main reason that the Bills are perennial contenders. This was validation for the greatest player to ever put on a Bills jersey (with all respect to Bruce).
  5. Polymarket is always right with these things.
  6. Josh is a heavy favorite again depending on the betting sites. I’ve seen -230 & -450.
  7. The weird irony is that relocation was never actually on the table. The terms of the lease had made it basically impossible. The media and fan base had these fears about Bon Jovi or whatever. The reality is that if he purchased the team he was not allowed to move them. There wasn’t an out of the lease like some teams have. That was Ralph’s parting gift that he doesn’t get enough credit for. He and Littman and Brandon had worked to get that done to ensure the Bills wouldn’t/couldn’t leave. I know a little bit about the situation and had put some of it on here at the time. The threat of relocation wasn’t actually real.
  8. The data doesn’t show any regression. The numbers continue to increase. Why worry about, “yeah but what if it starts to plateau and decline?” It’s actually more likely that, “what if it takes off in those countries and the revenues grow exponentially?” It is a bit of a frustrating conversation for me because it doesn’t make sense. EVERY FOR PROFIT BUSINESS HAS A GOAL OF MAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE. Why some want this business to be different is mind-numbing. If the interest wanes and the money slows, change will happen. Until then, expect continued revenue expansion by going into new markets, new networks, new timeslots, and more games. The DEMAND is there so the NFL owes it to their owners and players to maximize the revenue.
  9. The NHL does it (Sabres did this year). The NBA does it (Wemby was just in France). MLB does it (last year they played in Seoul, Mexico City and London). They also play games at the Field of Dreams Stadium and at the Little League World Series. It’s 2025. The world has never been smaller. Get used to it…
  10. The Riviera of the Middle East!!
  11. I don’t understand the problem? Doesn’t every business try to make as much money as they can? If there’s a market for it and money to be made, why wouldn’t they try to expand? I work for a large company (10k employees & $3B revenue). We had a call with the CEO yesterday and all it was about was growth. Isn’t that the goal of a business Are we saying that a business should say, “nah I’m good? I don’t want more money.” I just don’t understand the outrage (not just from you). No one has an issue when my company roles out new initiatives designed to drive revenue. I really, really, really struggle with growing the game being a “problem.”
  12. When Brady was at LSU Burrow had no problem getting the ball to Ja’marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. (My god was that team good).
  13. If only we could have addressed that in arguably the greatest WR draft ever…
  14. I’m thinking more like a 5th for Kupp but I could get behind that WR room if Cooper is at the right price & healthy. That looks WAY more dangerous. I’m not sure that it is good enough vertically but Cooper can fill that role. He has before.
  15. I’m okay bringing back the guys that are FAs including Cooper at the right price. I believe that he can be the 1 if healthy and used appropriately. With that being said, I’m okay trying something different at the top of the depth chart. I’d be fine if they were able to get Luther Burden for example. I year ago I would have said that there is no chance that they could get him but I’m seeing him around 20 in a lot of mocks. Don’t give Coleman anything. He can’t get open and was not good. Throwing the ball to him is so low percentage because he’s never open. Don’t give up on him and hope that he develops but don’t count on him for a big role either. You can’t just run it back. You need to add to the offense. The Bills weren’t explosive enough down the field. They saw single high as much as pretty much any team in football. They didn’t scare anyone vertically and were too easy to defend. I don’t care how many points they scored. They have a glaring hole. They are aware of that glaring hole. Why wouldn’t they address that glaring hole?
  16. I think that Von has a role as a situational pass rusher. With that being said, they can’t keep him at that number. They need those savings even with the dead cap hit.
  17. I think that’s all fair. Coleman’s lack of separation terrified me coming into the league and was only magnified once he got here. He has very good ball skills but caught 1/2 of his targets. That’s a function of never being open. He will never be able to be a focal point of the offense if every throw to him is a jump ball. He can only be used occasionally if that’s who he is. He is a big slot on a team with 1, or even 2, superior slot options. I promise that the Bills aren’t feeling good about him at this point. Is he doomed? No. Is he limited and potentially no more than a number 4? Yes and maybe 100% agree on the lack of a plan at WR. Here we are again with it as one of their biggest needs.
  18. Coleman was not good. No need to make excuses. Compare him to the next WR that went off the board. Kincaid has been a massive disappointment. If we want to say Rousseau is good, fine. Next year, do you want to be the team paying him $20M a year for this production? I sure don’t. That’s what someone is going to do. I love Taron. I said prior to last season that he may be the second best player on the team. He has been an elite slot corner (and still could be). This was a bad year. I think that the OTs are both borderline top 5 at their position. It is a strength for sure.
  19. If you think that the TOP of the Bills roster and the TOP of the Ravens roster are comparable, we disagree (by a lot). The same goes for Philly and a bunch of other teams.
  20. I think that this is possible. He was really, really good this year. It’s a little chicken and egg to me. Would he be elite with more usage or would his efficiency drop making him worse with more usage? I don’t know the answer. He’s always been a part of a shared backfield. All that I know is that he is closer to “one of the 5 best at his position” than just about anyone other than Josh (and maybe the OTs).
  21. Sure, again, convince yourself of whatever helps you sleep. When the top 100 lists come out the Bills have Dawkins in the 90’s (if he makes the list) and Josh near the top 10. That’s what it has been. The Ravens have Henry, Hamilton, Humphrey, Stanley, Van Noy, Linderbaum, Flowers, the TEs, etc… You’re missing the point. The conversation is about TOP END talent. The best of the Ravens players are better compared to their peers than the best of the Bills players are compared to their peers.
  22. They don’t have enough elite talent and haven’t had enough elite talent. I’m sorry for those of you that have thought otherwise. The Bills roster 12-53 has been as good as anyone’s 12-53. Their top 12 players may not be in the top 25 in the league. We’ve tried to cling to “everybody eats” or “next man up” but we are in the same place that we have been for years. The Bills have an elite QB, strong depth and not enough elite talent/playmaking to get over the hump. We’ve tried to convince ourselves that the Kincaids, Rousseaus, and Colemans of the world would be good players. Those guys are average, average and not good. We look at Shakir as elite. He’s good at what he does but he’s a high end role player. The same goes for Oliver. The OL is really good, Benford & Cook are becoming elite (top 5ish at their position) players. Other than that it is Josh and some solid players. I always look at it like this, “if you took a league average QB (think Geno Smith) and replaced every teams starting QB with him what would the record be?” If you replaced Josh with Geno, I think that the Bills are like 6-11. If you replaced Lamar with Geno, I think that they’re 11-6.
