  1. Really well said here!! The answer is, “it’s both.” The Bills need to improve the defense (specifically pass rush) AND get better on the outside with playmaking WRs. You articulated here though some of the divide that’s been on this board for months (if not years). When push comes to shove Josh is the guy that’s going to get this team over the top, not McDermott. It is like if you’re a pitcher and you throw 97. You have a really good fastball. There are 2 schools of thought on how you get better. We can work on your curve to make you more balanced OR we can try to get 97 to 101. Both avenues will make you better but do you believe that a good fastball and pretty good curve ball is better than an elite fastball and average curve? I’m generally of the belief that you take what you do best and make it better. It’s the concept of the book “Strengthfinders.” Understand what you do well and try to do that better as oppossed to spending time/resources trying to cover up your warts.
  2. That’s fair and I’m a bit of a hypocrite on this as well. I’m always a high ceiling guy and banged the drum for WR. As you know, I wasn’t a Coleman guy. In large part, I didn’t think that his ceiling was that high because of his lack of separation. I would have went “safer” with McConkey or Worthy. I also liked guys like Javon Baker and Ricky Pearsall who didn’t do much last year. Lol, Baker caught 1 ball all year. They should have taken multiple guys at the position either way. The WR position has been woefully mismanaged/neglected.
  3. Burden feels like a guy with a very high floor and a high ceiling. There’s virtually no chance of him busting (even if that means he has to play primarily from the slot).
  4. Sorry that you didn’t like saying “wait until he gets hurt” is a weak argument. Waiting until anyone gets hurt is a weak argument. Let’s just look at the resume of when they played. The comparison that I provided was the way that they ended the season. One of them flourished and appeared to be blossoming into a star. The other came back and struggled catching 10 of his last 29 targets. I’m not going to live in the hypothetical world of, “yeah but if he gets hurt and doesn’t play the other guy will be better.” That is dumb. Let’s look at what they did while playing. When they were both healthy, Worthy was a much better player.
  5. I am on board. He was a crazy high recruit too. That reminds me of Diggs a little bit.
  6. Appreciate you answering the question. To be clear, I’m not saying Coleman has no chance. He actually has some skills with the ball in the air and the ball in his hands. I’m saying that it was a dumb pick because the Bills needed an immediate contributor. I blame them more than him. He has some upside but I think it’s as a contributor not a focal point. In, arguably, the best WR draft ever, it sucks when that was your biggest need and you traded down twice for a role player. That’s a poor job by the Beane and co. Let’s hope that he develops into more than a 3rd or 4th receiver. Lol, that’s my least favorite argument. The “wait until he gets hurt” argument. Worthy played every game this year I think and Coleman missed a month and a half. Why should we assume that Worthy is more likely to be injured? That’s a stupid assumption and an incredibly weak argument.
  7. We are definitely in agreement here. You and I are generally in agreement but have differed on Coleman. With that desperate need, I didn’t think a project was a good idea. The needed a higher floor. Both Worthy and obviously McConkey checked that box. Beane loves to chase a high ceiling but I didn’t believe that he had that luxury last draft.
  8. That has been one of my thoughts too (although @GunnerBill doesn’t love him). Why not just answer the question? Which player is better right now?
  9. I 100% agree that those numbers would be sensational (and realistic on the high end). At the same time, Worthy looks like the next Desean Jackson and Ladd is better than both. The Bills went into the draft with a MASSIVE need at the top of the depth chart. They traded down twice and drafted a guy that caught 10 of his last 29 targets. That’s a huge fail at this point. The book certainly isn’t written but to this point it is NOT going well.
  10. Who is better right now, Worthy or Keon?
  11. One of the things that’s baffling in here is the argument, “he was targeted more.” I’m like, “don’t you think he was targeted more because he was open more?”
  12. I hope that he becomes that guy. Asked differently, “which one is better right now?” There is a right answer.
  13. I guess this is a part of this conversation. The jury is definitely still out. Worthy is definitely a better player at this point. Both of those things are true. Could things change in the future? Sure. Could the gap between the two widen in the future? Sure.
  14. There is a long way to go. One guy improved as the year went along and is a key piece on a Super Bowl participant. The other was a role player that lost playing time to Mack Hollins down the stretch. He caught 10 of his last 29 targets. That’s unfathomable. The book isn’t written on either guy. I’m not disputing that but if you’re betting on 1, you’re betting on the guy that produced. If you gave 32 teams the choice, at least 31 take Worthy.
  15. I sure hope that he improves. He regressed post injury and hope that it was from recovering and not from the tape being out there. My god, he caught 10 of his last 29 targets!! What are we doing here? I get the homerism but this is crazy talk. Spin the stats however you want to feel better. If you’ve watched the last few months and think that Coleman is better, or will be better, I don’t know what to tell you. There isn’t 1 team in the league that would trade Worthy for Coleman.
  16. Is this seriously a question? Lol, he consistently produced and made plays on a championship level team. He has a skill that he excels in and displayed that skill would consistently translate. Coleman caught 1/2 of his targets. if he can’t figure out how to get open he can never be more than a role player. That’s not an efficient way to win. Worthy’s contributions and importance to KC’s Offense >>>>>>>>>> Coleman’s contributions and importance to the Bills Offense. From the time Coleman came back from injury he caught 10 balls on 29 targets for 161 yards and 1 TD. Over that same stretch (added a game because he sat out Denver to have it the same sample size), Worthy caught 45 ball on 58 targets for 518 and 5 TDs. I can’t fathom how anyone can objectively look at them and think differently. 🤣🤣
  17. Some of the mental gymnastics being played here to downplay Worthy and pump up Coleman are hilarious. The Bills made a mistake. Is Worthy going to be great? Who knows. Is Coleman? Who knows. Which one is better now and more likely to succeed? Worthy and that’s not up for debate at this point. Hopefully it is up for debate in the future.
  18. Rousseau NEEDS to be traded IMO. You can’t pay him $20M a year. He will command near that. He’s a good answer as well. I think that you can give it 1 more year if you choose.
  19. I think that’s a decent strategy. You can’t win without a QB. That Pitsburgh roster is pretty good but has some holes. If you plugged pretty good QB play in, they are a contender. Rodgers can’t be the long play but he could give you a 2 year window if he plays at the level that he did this year. He isn’t Josh Allen but he isn’t Russell Wilson either.
  20. Worthy was ALWAYS a better player than Coleman. A lot of people here didn’t want to believe it but that was always the case. It was a mistake at the time and a much bigger mistake now. Let’s hope Coleman develops into a quality player. I don’t see him ever being a difference maker but he could be Gabe Davis.
  21. I bet the Eagles to the over. I made a bunch of Devonta Smith bets. I won some money tonight. However, I had Devonta Smith, longest TD which paid a bunch. I’m so pissed. Mahomes and Worthy had to stick it to me for no reason. Eff them both
  22. I’m obviously biased but New Orleans is, by 10,000 miles, the best host city. NOLA is better at it than everyone else. If the question is, “where would you most like to go?” other cities are in the mix. If it is, “who does it best and where is the best experience?” it is NOLA in a landslide.
  23. For sure!! I was so frustrated watching the Bills alter the way that they run the tush push in the AFCCG. It worked all year so let’s change it up. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  24. The tush push with 2 people pushing!!! What a novel ef’ing idea!!
  25. I mean, I don’t think this is up for debate. The Bills should push every chip that they have in. They have a 5-7 year window right now if Josh is healthy. They’re better positioned now to win a Super Bowl than at any time in franchise history sans the early 90’s. What would you be waiting on? 🤣🤣 This IS your window. Do anything and everything to win now. Worry about the cap and the future in the 2030’s.
