Not a Duke fan, or a college hoops fan for that matter, but Laettner was one of the small handful of guys I really enjoyed watching college basketball, because of. Maybe his WNY roots had a little to do with it. He was a blast to watch. As a big NBA fan, I was disappointed that his NBA career wasn't better. He was to college ball, what Kevin Garnett was to the pros. Too bad for Laettner, he never went to a good team in the pros. Enjoyed the special quite a bit.

No disrespect intended, but I am not sure I agree with this.

On a related note, kinda, I was wearing a Sabres t-shirt yesterday...somebody asked me if they were triple A, or double A baseball...not the first time somebody has asked me this.

Unfortunately, living in Texas, I still get the requisite, "man, that must suck, losing back to back Super Bowls like that..." I just smile politely, and don't bother to correct them...Cowboys fans live in the 90's as much as we do.

This was one of my all-time favorites...too bad it wasn't at all based in reality!

I heard Chip actually accidentally butt-dialed Whaley last week, then they just started talking, next thing you know, Kiko is off to Philly, and 25hadey is the biggest thing in Buffalo!

Remember the Todd Collins re-birth in Chicago? He was a backup in KC for close to 10 years, and never took a snap in a regular season game...goes to hold a clipboard in Wahsington...Campbell goes down, and Collins dusts off the arm, and played pretty well for a few weeks....he spent the following off-season as a "hot" QB FA prospect...kind of worked out like Luke McCown when he went to Tampa.

It does happen with O-linemen from time to time. The guy is good, but he is old...I am not sure I would be that quick to give up more than a 4th rdr for him...we don't have a first round pick this year, you know! You know....that might be a good offer? Chip doesn't seem to worry about injury history...and Goodwin is a burner... I have a feeling he won't be on our opening day roster anyway.

I actually thought Lawson played great in 2013... maybe even better than Spikes in 2014. If they are running something closer to what Pettine ran, than Schwartz, I wouldn't discount Manny Lawson. Good, solid, vet linebacker depth, with some real flashes at times. I like Spikes and all, but he had some pretty dreadful moments out there in 2014. I like his personality and all, but he was a liability at times.

I guess Rex was pretending he coveted Thad Lewis!

Bernie was pretty outstanding from about 1987-91...one of the better QB's in the league at that time.

I stand corrected...I guess what throws me, he was okay to awful for about 10 years in the NFL, before finding his mojo (or maybe just the right situation) at the end of his career, in Oakland. I guess I forgot that the Raiders were pretty decent that many years, with him at the helm. A late bloomer!

Gannon had one terrific season, but was pretty okay to awful most of his career.. Another...Steve Bono! Had a couple of really efficient seasons as the Chiefs starter, under Schottenheimer, only to flame out in the playoffs.

I have a friend who is a huge Dolphins fan. Clay is his favorite player on the team, along with Wake.

Somebody, somewhere, made a great point about Chip... if this doesn't work out for him, with the Eagles, he can just bail and go back to the college game...but this could set the Eagles franchise back quite a bit. For the Eagles sake, Chip better know what he is doing.

I don't think Kelly ever imagined Maclin bolting for KC. That was a bigger loss than they are letting on. Personally, I think Gore is a terrific fit for the Colts. Kind of adds that Anquan Boldin toughness and grittiness that they are lacking right now...

The Bears might not make it to 7-9, and it wouldn't necessarily be because Cutler played poorly. That team is a mess, all across the roster, right now. People who don't really follow them at all will make the easy conclusion that Cutler sucks, but they are discounting an truly terrible offensive line (at least as bad, if not worse than anything we have seen in Buffalo in recent years) and the worst defense the Bears have fielded in about 30 years. Cutlers biggest weakness is that he believes in his arm, before anything else.
