  1. I liked Barnett, but he was done when he left Buffalo...
  2. Because being a douche bag is what keeps so many people active on the board...they thrive on that stuff...social media masters!
  3. Listened to that interview last night...I think it was the first time I have heard TPegs interviewed, where he sounded comfortable...answered every question fluently. Was kind of amused that he seemed to be openly admitting his lack of football knowledge.
  4. Matt Cassel's one start for the Bills last season is going to make an awesome Bills trivia question some day...
  5. You may be right, perhaps never a starter (unless he is serving as the #2 guy, behind a fallen starter), but if you go back and look at the two games he started last season, except for that disastrous 3 minutes or so against the Jags, he didn't play all that badly...but I know, those 3 minutes count. I would argue that he played pretty well against a better Bengals team, that got the Bills on a very poor day for the Bills defense (one of their truly awful performances last season), and, though EJ put the Bills in the hole against the Jags (I will give you that), he did hang in there and put together a nice second half that game. When Doug Whaley, weakly it seemed, to some, said after the season was over that EJ was still one of the better back-ups in the league and saw no real reason to actively seek to replace him, he was right, I think.
  6. I did happen to hear the brit guy from Pro Football Outsiders on the John Murphy show last night...he didn't sound too impressed with the Bills...went on about the great atmosphere, but thought the Bills ran a pretty lazy practice...raved about the Steelers and Browns practices, how efficient they were, not a lot of standing around...
  7. Love it! Second season has been off the charts good!
  8. Its' funny. I see these kind of posts all the time...I have subscribed to TW for close to 25 years now, and I have never really had a single issue with them...sure, I wish their prices were a little lower, and I wish they had the NHL Network, but I have always found them very easy to deal with, and very responsive to any service issues. I have never had DTV or any satellite services, but I know plenty of people who do. I hear them griping all the time about losing picture (a Minnesota Vikings fan-friend of mine swears that he lost reception in all but 2 games, at some point, a couple of seasons ago), inept technicians...my TW picture is pretty much always crystal clear, can count on one hand the times I lost service...my only real beef with them over the years was their aggressive billing "you pay before you actually receive the service" policy, which they amended years ago.
  9. Perfect, the "new and improved" 3-hour John Murphy show, culled down to two hours!
  10. Actually, I like Hamilton, if only because he is one of the few guys at the station who ever offers much insight into the "behind the scenes" workings of the Bills and Sabres. I will say, however, I like him much more for Sabres coverage. I just feel that he, along with all the other GR guys, really don't have any exclusive access (at least that they are willing to share) and insight into the Bills. They see what all of us see, nothing extra....I think GR is cheap, which is why the force Hamilton (definitely a "hockey guy") to cover the Bills. He is way better at covering the Sabres...I kind of like his sardonic style too!
  11. Not sure if you are being facetious (I think you probably are), but I may be one of the few people who actually liked Dickersons' show. I thought he was a major a-hole more often than not, but he was one of the very few Buffalo Bills radio coverage people who ever really offered any real insight to the actual games. I know Kelso has a decent grasp too, but he only does the games (which I don't listen too, as I am watching them in some gin mill every Sunday), so you just get a lot of people with very varying degrees of knowledge blabbering on about nothing most of the time. I personally don't even hate Schoop and Bull Dog, but they are probably the worst people they could have doing the Bills post-game show. It is un-listenable...especially when the team is losing...I can take Schoops musings during the week, but I don't want to hear that after the game. They need more knowledgeable football guys.
  12. Imagine if they let it leak that Donald Trump had been banging Jodi Foster for the last 30 years!
  13. IRT Sean Penn, he definitely has some public personality issues, but I think he is a really great actor, and he has had some really great movies. One of the very best of his generation...IMO. But I get why people don't like him. Along the same lines as Penn, but I don't like him very much, Tim Robbins...just seems like a pretentious douche...I have a hard time getting past that...not to say he hasn't been in some decent movies (loved "Bob Roberts"), but I gotta really psych myself up to watch anything he is in...
  14. I love Marv too,but in my cognizant life as a Bills fan (which start around 1972, when I was 7) it was those Knox teams that were the first to have any serious shot at doing anything. Knox just brought a "swagger" to Buffalo, long before we knew what swagger was. His defenses were elite, and, I think, he is not given enough credit, at least while in Buffalo, for being (or allowing) innovation with his offense. He talked "3 yards and a cloud of dust", but his offenses were much more aggressive than that, and the team had one of the upper tier offenses during his final years in town. I realize, Marv had more success, but Knox was legit in my book, The Bills were very much a floundering franchise when he took over and Mr Wilson's worst tendencies to be both an meddler and "cheap" were in their full prime. Chuck was a great coach, Joe DeLemiellure didin't like him (remember, Fred Smerlas didn't like Marv Levy), but players are not always the first to appreciate a great coach.. Joe D aside,m his players loved him, they played hard for him, and he lived up to his reputation, In my book, one of the few times the Bills franchise, under Ralph, aimed high, and got what they thought they were getting. I blame Ralph for the premature end of what could have been a fantastic era of Bills football.
  15. Well, I did say he was my favorite Bills coach, not Joe D's.
  16. Other than their annoying use of "slideshows" (which everyone seems to do now), I think Bleacher Report has been as legit as any other sports source, for some time now.
  17. It used to be Robin Williams for me...but you can't say that these days. Loved "The World According to Garp", but otherwise, he always irritated the **** out of me. It also used to be Matthew McConaughey for me, beyond "Dazed & Confused"...but then he had the "McCounaughsence" and started making really good movies/tv...though it looks like he may be back-sliding... btw- all good choices so far, though I gotta admit, I have always had a thing for Gwyneth. I think she used to be a pretty decent actress early on, and I think she is super foxy...course, I always thought the same of her mom! But, if she never made another movie, it would be okay with me!
  18. I was re-watching one of Seatlles' playoff games on the NFL Network a week or so ago. At one point, Freddy had a nice little 7 yard, or so, first down reception. The color analyst went on to say that while speaking to Seahawks people during the week, although Fred did little early in the season, he was starting to have a bigger role in the offense, and (predictably I suppose) Pete Carroll raved about his leadership qualities. They also mentioned what a difficult position he was in, joining a new team, right at the beginning of the season...not knowing the whole offense, etc etc...naturally, coaches are going to guys they trust know their system, over a new guy who has had no time, really, to adjust to his new surroundings, and new offense. I am not normally one to want to go back to the past, but let me ask this: If Fred had never played for the Biils, lets say he had spent most of his career with the Lions, or some other moribund team...the Bills have a need for a some running back help...they sign Fred who has been cut by the Lions. I would bet, most here would think it was a "decent" signing. Lets' not hold his Bills past, against him. Does he have less to offer than, say, Boom Herron or James Wilder?
  19. My all-time favorite Bills coach.
  20. I thought it was about Bill Wyman when I saw the thread title...but he's 80!
  21. Too bad time and debacle haven't worked in Cowherds' favor, he has always been a grad-A !@#$!
  22. Beats another Walgreens...
  23. I think when Schoop had his Saturday morning collectors show, Terry Pegula called in, and didn't identify himself. As it happened, it was the last edition of Schoops' collectors show, so he was sort of abrupt with Pegula (again, not realizing it was him) because he wanted to make some final "swan song" statements for his show. As Mike told it, it wasn't until after he got off the air, that his wife told him " I think that was Terry Pegula on your last call, you cut him off". Schoop felt horrible upon learning this, and as I recall, cleared it up with Pegula, who seemed un-phased by it. I may be one of the only people who listened to Shcoops collectors show every week (the audio vault) but he wasn't rude to Pegula, just kind of cut it a little short, because Pegula sounded like just some old guy, reminiscing about collecting baseball cards... as I recall, it was right before, or right after, the Pegulas purchased the Bills. As Promo said, I think Terry genuinely enjoys talking to Schoop...or at least he did when the sale went through. I know some don't like Schoop, and I completely understand why...but I will say, from time to time, especially when there is actually something going on, you know, real Bills or Sabres news, rather than talking about them when there is little to say, he is good at asking pertinent and direct questions. I agree, he shouldn't be doing the Bills post-game show (that is horrendous), but he has his moments.
