  1. As a season ticket holder, I think this is a good lineup. Only one Dec game.....(yeh, 30 Nov is like Dec) Anyhow, its level wrt to the weather. 2 Sep, 2 Oct, 2 Nov and 2 cold weather. So, not stacked into the backend like they have done many years. I don't like thursday night games, even away. I think each team has poor preperation...and that makes for a bad game. Hence, the money flows but the fans are screwed out of a quality product. Oh well. At least they didn't give us any home night games...those are killer, especially in the cold months.
  2. Yeh, I was at the game...Elway was the QB, and he had a swivel on his head when he realized that Bruce Smith and Bennett were both in there. Looking back a forth at those two guys....talk about intimidation.....it was Bennett's first game, and he had immediate impact.
  3. My sentiments exactly, I am a season ticket holder, and don't need this window dressing at the games. I go for the football!!! Bills will settle, and, I hope, take this advice.
  4. Irrespective of his physical tools, Incognito is a problem....stay away from him. Would you transplant cancer into your body ? (locker room, I mean)
  5. Flex scheduling trashes the plans of the stadium fan. Travel plans, arrangements etc.....and night games in the north during the winter months are a killer. People has to work the next day....and its a bummer for sure. All this for the TV dollar......I guess nothing to be done though.....I am a season ticket holder, and I sell my seats on the NFL ticket exchange for the night games......I don't like the cold without some sun. I do have to admit, the crowd at a night game is a zoo, and fun to watch though.
  6. CJ needs an agent....and he knows it. Of course....and he has his objectives. Money, winning, etc. Who knows how that plays out. I don't think a trade is in the works, but, for the right deal, anybody is available.
  7. Yes, Kiko surprised a lot of folks....great pick by the Bills. Of course, Kiko is great because of his abililties, not because the Bills picked him......that is the real credit due. Good management decision by Bills, but Kiko did it!!!
  8. Kaufman caught a lot more than 5, at least that many called back due to penality.....I was at the games, saw the action. Preseason not on TV nationally, so many on the board had no opportunity to see him. I had regrets when he didn't make the PS initially, but the Bills did call him back, they also saw something. People who can catch almost anything thrown their way have a potential role on this team. Kaufman did not have a drop in the preseason. He is the anti-Stevie.
  9. All of this discussion is interesting, but, the decision will be made only after the first 8 picks are made, either execute their draft board....or trade down if a willing partner is available. Bills did real well last year getting Kiko as an additional player, but, it might not work out that well another time. Never know.......getting another 2, however , is extremely attractive......thinking who we got in the past...Woods, glenn both excellent rnd 2 guys as well.
  10. I recall that this guy caught everything thrown near him during the last preseason. A hybrid TE who can really catch would be useful. And, if he can block at all, just maybe he makes the team. I thought it was interesting he showed up after midseason joining the practice squad.....I think they have been planning this since last training camp when he was cut........this makes a lot of sense to me.
  11. Gilmore has not shown me that he is a top dog in this league. Maybe he will live up to the Bills hype on him......but he has not yet.
  12. In these days of free agency, ;you cannot count on retaining any of your draft picks. they will get paid whatever the market says they are worth. all you get to do is decide how much money up to the cap you are going to spend at what position. Now, Cordy Glenn has been and is a bargain for the Buffalo Bills. He will get a BIG payday when his contract is up....I think the rules allow the Bills to match. that will be their choice. having Mathews means having an heir apparent available under contract..if he, in fact, is left tackle material. Michael Oher went through that cycle with the Ravens.....RT, LT, free agent departure.......The NFL teams no longer have any hometown discount when talking about putting a roster together. Its kind of like making a movie...cast the actors you can afford...and see what happens. Some organizations are better than others at that. (see NE)
  13. Knocked Naaman rossevelt off the roster, I wonder is he is still around football?
  14. I am not sure I would write off anybody just because they didn't get it done in Oakland.
  15. Don't pick Ebron! His tryoust show him to have stone hands, can't catch them all, drops a substantial percentage. That is NOT a TE I want, don't care if he can run like a deer.
  16. Just read an article on NBC Sports (don't know how to get a link) on how Charlie Cassely thinks that EJ Manuel would rank #8 in this years QB draft class......list those he thinks are better. (the usual suspects on that list) pretty discouraging as a Bills fan. Now, CC is not all seeing, but, after watching EJ all season, I have to say he hasn't shown much yet......in either escapability or arm strength/accuracy. He needs to show or move over this year. The Bills are woefully thin at QB, and not a prospect of a move to strengthen. I guess they have no choice but to let EJ have another season to develope. Gm and Head coach jobs on the line with this, I think. although, perhaps the trust in charge/Brandon will not rock the boat during a sale activity.
  17. Lewiston Bridge would work also for Canadian Fans. Just put it somewhere where folks can get to the roads to go to and from without a big hastle. That is the big shortcoming of the downtown Buffalo waterfront location.
  18. He has good professional habits, I guess......I hate to ask this, but how different are his numbers for his first year than JaMarcus Russell. I haven't seen the pro arm to throw long....I am a season ticket holder, so I have seen him in person a number of time. Thad Lewis has shown a better long ball arm than Manuel so far. Manuel misses on the routes along the sideline are particularily bothersom.
  19. Yeh, and the Bills picked Romo 5 times, and lost anyhow.
  20. I don't think Hackett throws the ball enough and enough deep to get 30 TD's passing a season. I am thinking that both EJ an Hackett are still unproven. those are the biggest question marks for the O. EJ's arm is still not proven....he struggled mightly throwing a few deep balls, and missed OB many times on sideline throws. I am some discouraged about his ability to throw/pro arm.
  21. Spiller isn't OJ.....but, on the breakaways, he is just as good. He just can't pound it inside as well. the blocking is also an issue. I think somebody will give CJ a boatful of money, and the Bills will loose him. Getting insurance behind CJ is necessary, and I think they will draft at least one back, maybe two. Practice squad fodder at least. Somebody who knows the playbook and could come in if needed.
  22. Welcome to the board. I always though the Browns fans would show up in force when the Bills were at home against them. but, there has not been a great deal visitors from Cleveland when they were here. glad you are starting a trend. You are welcome here in Buffalo, and most buffalo fans will treat you well. (Not like Pittsburg, don't wear your colors there, you will be abused. (family experience on that, btw) I felt that your coach down there got the quick hook on his contract....hope they have to pay him the whole deal....one year is not exactly a trial. I am guessing that that he burned his bridges with the management, and that was the cause. Pettine was very good hear, and the other comments here are right on. the lack of run defense kept them from being all world. to many 80 yard runs for TD's against the bills. I would like to hit Cleveland for a visit, see a Cavs game.....I confess I sort of follow the blue Jays though. Have never been to Cleveland....maybe that will change soon.
  23. Well, the employment of coaches is a complex calculus. Marrones selection and handling of Crossman is not smart on the face of it. But, the coaching fraternity is networked pretty good, and I speculate that Marrone's handling of Crossman impacted favorability of hiring of Schwartz as DC. Schwartz could have sat home and collect his 5 mil from the Lions....but he choose to come to work for the Bills. That was a big plus for the bills...probabily bigger than the negative of retaining Crossman. But, still, this special teams coaching thing so reminds me of the Wade Phillips/Ronnie White case of yesteryear. So, Marrone is in charge, and we are going with his decisions and instinct on coaaching. I am on board...but concerned as are we all, I guess.
  24. A better deal than keeping DaRick Rogers I think
  25. Actually, Jerry Hughes and his 10 sacks are in the last year of their contract, and a replacement seems in order. But, I am guessing that another need will take presidence. And, more important to resign Darius.
