True. I think all NFL stadiums pretty much have very low or negative return on investment. But I think Indy and Minnesota are the models on how you make the roof stadiums at least a better ROI. I said this from Day 1, but my hope was that the Bills would have built a more modest and cost-effective indoor stadium, patterned after Lucas Oil. Oh, well. The ship has sailed.

to me, met life was the effective end of the open door stadium. It’s one of the worst stadiums and biggest mistakes. I guess you might have outliers like Levi, but my understanding is that there was some issues with FAA regs in building a higher stadium. Also, now they are doing billions in renovations!

it’s actually the way of the past too. No NFL team has been building open air stadiums for the last 15 years. Just a total waste of money and sub par fan and player experience. Terrible investment by Buffalo.

this would be a first. I’d like to see what that actually looked like. -

No Shand updates?!! -
I loved Hulk Hogan. But I have to think decades of steroid use had to pose a lot of health risks. I think I saw he may have died from a heart attack, which is often linked to steroid use.

Nathaniel Hackett is coaching D!
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
honestly, if the NFL had a “no nepotism” rule, then they probably wouldn’t need a Rooney Rule. Hackett basically has a job because his dad was Paul Hackett. guys like steve belichick, Bobby April Jr., Kyle Shannan, Sean mcvay— all got into the NFL because of their dads. Some of them have proven they belong— but it sure helps when dad makes a few calls to get you onto an NFL coaching staff when you are 22 years old. -
You have been lying in wait like a lion ready to pounce and use that one!

Looks like the packers think he can help their defense as a coach. I do know as an offensive coordinator, he was really good at helping the opposing teams’ defenses. So I think they are onto something! https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45813182/nathaniel-hackett-rejoins-packers-help-defense

I suspect I am going to be clamoring for Shand and Solomon to be our starting DEs this year, and to no avail!

I am actually rooting for Elam. I actually think this wasn’t the right situation for him, and I am not sure the coaches here properly developed him like they should have.

RIP Malcolm Jamal Warner from the Cosby Show
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Gregg's topic in Off the Wall
interestingly enough, when I met Malcolm Jamal Warner, he was with the actress who played Urkel’s girlfriend on Family Matters. They were dating at the time. I can’t recall her name, but she passed away from cancer at a very young age. -
RIP Malcolm Jamal Warner from the Cosby Show

Really sad. This guy was my childhood hero! I remember writing him fan mail as a 4th grader. I actually met him once when I was 16, and he took a photo with me. Was very gracious. -
Second grade: “Never Eat Shredded Wheat” for North, East, South, West. I use it every time I am getting onto a highway! Also, my 9th grade social studies teacher used to say: “excuses are the nails that build the house of failure.” Thats the only thing I remember from that class, and I still say that all the time!

Is it just me, but I kinda miss that Season 2 “let’s throw a wild lateral in a playoff game Josh Allen” look!? -
interesting take re Hawes. But I will say that our third TEs though never have gotten chances to really do anything. I always thought Q Morris was a stud, but never got enough game action. And everyone was high on Davidson, but he also never played.

I doubt anyone here hates on him all that much. Injuries did him in here, unfortunately. Not his fault.

wow; dude looks quite skinny!

the “be ready for the start of camp next week” seems odd. I don’t quite understand why you do this move if it just sidelines a player for a few days.

This is a big argument in my house. I am firmly Care-a-Mel. My wife is Car-Mel. I believe I have all my kids with me, but it’s a daily battle.

Darrick vs Damar…who makes the team?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I actually think he got better after he left. He was way too grabby with us, a very shy tackler, and injury prone. I think he cleaned a lot of that up after he left (though I still have my suspicions that he isn’t a great teammate).
