  1. Amazing news with this update. Thank you to the entire medical team that treated and is treating Damar. They truly saved the life of a young man who will do great things.

    Prayer Request

Hi Augie, Thanks for the thoughts. I hope you and yours had a blessed Christmas. The mom and dad are really strong in faith. They are viewing it as a gift from heaven that he was removed from suffering on Christmas. He has an older brother (senior on the varsity hockey team) and two younger sisters. Just a great, great family. There are times like this when your and my shared experience of losing a child can help. It did today for a bit. My heart aches and breaks. Sorry to bore everyone with personal stuff...but this has just torn me apart and posting is a bit cathartic.

Heartbroken to report that the young man passed away late last evening. The support shown by our hockey community has been amazing and heartwarming to the parents. Thank you to those who commented and viewed this post. Rest in peace #86...the image of you will always be sprinting down the ice, puck on stick to an open net.
  5. I am a strong believer in the power of prayer. This request is for a teammate on my stepson's high school hockey squad. This 16 year old teammate had a stroke two weeks ago (not related to anything on the ice) and was diagnosed with moyamoya disease. He has underwent two brain surgeries and had strokes on the operating table during both. The prognosis is dim at best at right now. Mom and dad are making arrangements for palliative care. This young man is from a wonderful family with an aces mom and dad. He is a gritty young hockey player who I loved from the first time I saw him skate. He is also an all conference level baseball player. I am praying for comfort and for a miracle.....would appreciate any other prayers.
  6. I live in Saint Paul....my youngest had a hockey tournament game on Saturday afternoon so I was listening to Paul Allen and Pete Bercich's broadcast of the comeback. Paul is a legend in MN. I don't mind him being a homer..I like him better than Murph (and I like Murph sort of)... In fairness, you also have to listen to some snippets from the first half...when Paul's lead in to a mattress ad was, "well, since the team decided to sleep in and not show up today, its appropriate we encourage you to shop at Mattress Firm." He is really critical of the Vikings (like the Jalen Reagor comments) when the Vikes are sucking. Adds some color and chuckles to the broadcast.
  7. Somewhere in the world Doug Marrone is yet again sporting a smug, "I ***** told you so look" on his punchable face. Doug Whaley is thinking, I could have been a champion if I would have had more time to personally work with Sammy. Russ Brandon is thinking "Man, I was bullet proof teflon until Terry and Kim got there."
  8. Maybe we should call Barbara Billingsley.
  9. I consider this guy a "player" in the local market... https://www.wgrz.com/article/about-us/team-bios/patrick-hammer/71-21049329

  12. Only if she...
  13. Baker would then be Mr. Really Irrelevant
  14. If the Taurus isn't in the driveway don't come in yet. Brittany is still finishing up with the balloon lady and pastry chef.
  15. Michael Mayer....
  16. Well, this sucks. Bills are going to have to blitz more to get pressure. They really need Tre and Tremaine back healthy for this to work. Tremaine makes QB's hesitant when he is in coverage because of his size, speed and range. It's a group effort to cover for this loss. Hopefully they are up to the challenge. If the Bills get an effective (not necessarily healthy) Von back for the playoffs but have to sacrifice home field advantage to achieve this, I guess I take that trade.
  17. Holy ***** I need this...
  18. He was testing it on the sidelines right after the half. He was putting full weight on it and moving laterally but was wincing a bit. He wanted back in. Talked to Morse on the sideline but the trainer appeared not to clear him. We were about 30 rows up and all this was happening in front of us. Other than that he was in a great mood. Even when the momentum clearly swung against the Bills with the Miller injury, the Dawkins injury, the crowd, etc. the sideline was always dialed-in and loose. They found a way to win even down a ton of players. Ed Oliver had an Aaron Donald game.
  19. He'll be wearing a wire.........part of the Bills surveillance strategy.
  20. "Josh Allen kicks his own ass after breaking his recent red zone interception curse"
  21. I am personally saddened but this individual seems pleased. RIP oh sledgehammer slinging funny man!
