He played 28 games total the first two seasons and 26 the last two combined. He should definitely be ashamed of 1053 yards, 10 TDS, and 67 catches in TWO seasons combined. Good receivers have better numbers than that in one season.

Once again, there seems to always be reasons why Sammy has never broke through besides Sammy himself lol. Its goff, or Mcvay, or Orton, or TT, or Roman, or Lynn. I will go back to my original point in where I say good receivers produce regardless of circumstances. Being drafted at 4 has nothing to do with his overall play, but has a lot to do with his high expectations in which he hasn’t met.

For the 4th pick off the board, yes. If you are going to get a guy that high, you want better numbers than that. Like AJ Green for example. I just don't think he has or will ever live up to his hype/talent when he was coming out of College

Here is how I look at it. Every good/great receiver (I am not sure what you categorize Watkins and I don't want to put words in your mouth) can have a bad season. But good/great receivers don't have 4 years in a row in which they have underperformed. Deandre Hopkins has had some of the worse offences/QBS an he still balls every single year. If you look at good/great receivers, they have poor season by their standards, but they don't have back to back season under 600 yards and 40 catches. That really is mediocre/bad. While to your point I am sure there were factors that played a role in his poor numbers. But the reality is good receivers put up good numbers on a consistent basis, and it is rare they will have 1 bad season in terms of stats, nevertheless 3-4 in 4 years

This^. In 4 years his best season was 1047 yards, 60 receptions, and 9 TDS. Like you said, has talent, but is overrated and is injury prone

2003 home opener against Pats. I'll never forget that beauty Orton in my opinion was a scared version of Fitzpatrick. Maybe scared isn't the word, but "lack of passion" compared to Fitz. They both could light it up at times, suck at times, and both were notorious for turning the ball over a lot. The difference is Fitz was crazy and would have dove head first to get first downs

They were unfortunately sure of those calls. If the league told the officials to let the players play more, I can almost guarantee they don’t make those calls. You ever notice the super bowl has less flags than other games? Not a coincidence at all. I can almost guarantee the league tells the officials to ease up on the flags in the SB

There is still so much to happen and things are going to change like crazy after the combines, pro days, and free agency. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if they took him, but it’s still so early
