the reason is nytimes is a national paper. They don’t invest in local sports beyond what would be considered their local market subscribers. ny times has reports who live in the top 50 cities ( all have pro sports teams). It’s a cost/ benefit move of possibly going into local market journalism thus many tines could compete somewhat in a local market driving local subscriptions with a local page of new stories done by a sports team, snd local team of reporters.

Many fans drive from 2+ hrs away to see the game. border isn’t an issue because it’s been going on all season STH selling tickets because 3 home games in 4 weeks is tough on them to do…especially with another hone game next week…thus 3 weeks in a row and 4 in 5. game time concerns people who drive farther out where getting home is 9 pm or later. Concerns of more drinking pregame. the Jets suck. The ticket sellers could be Jets fans hoping their team had something to play for. Now they don’t. Ticket holders now are Covid positive or close family members or friends are. I went to Carolina game. Was in town thst weekend thru mid week. We went as a group of 8 to the game6 of us sat together in one area. The other 2 are STH. not sure if it was from the game, on Tuesday we found out one tested positive. Marriota is a free agent after the season from the Raiders. He’s a mobile QB so offense wouldn't need to change. Fitz Would com back if offered. I think grub stays given the limited market out there. He’s not going to get a 3rd chance if he goes somewhere and the team doesn’t succeed. He’s still young. If he waits 1 more year there might be more job openings with old QBs retiring. There was a Jets game as game #256. I can’t recall who they played but the team knew they play the Jets if they lost. If they won they would have p,aye done of the hottest teams houston. They chose to rest everyone. Jets won at home. Jets beat them the next week. this started the flexing of games on week 17 and only try to put a meaningful game here. if I was the commissioner I’d set up a rule..if this fix happened, both teams would not go to the playoffs and npbe penalized big time with draft picks.
