I’ve said this before, WRs are going to be like RBs where they can easily get replaced this not investing like the 11%+ of cap space you mention unless they are the dream receiver that fits multiple receiver roles like (1) deep threat, (2) catch in tight quarters, (3) level of quickness to side step coverage/ tacklers, (4) can run over hr middle, (5) break tackling ability, (6) has the sorter term high gear to create space some WRs might get more if the team is on a rookie contract for a QB

I’d be instead targeting folks who want to prove it contracts ( not coming off them) these are some of the back ups/ secondary players on other teams or thise who got injured last year these players can sign for a low/ bonus contract. They will be playing for a team who will be features tv game for about 11 weeks during the season National tv games ( include primary 425 Sunday ( Cincinnati, KC, houston, Philadelphia , Baltimore, Miami ( both) , jets, Steelers, Tampa bay. Atlanta) Lead 1 pm patriots, jets, Carolina

A few young players on PS or mainly ST make a big step and be a regular player and improves the team. Some high picked rookies take a full year to develop or you had that rookie/ 1 yr blow out their knee lost for season early. 2. schedule differences— From year to year teams change what 3 divisions they play. A subset of this us who you have st home vs road. Based on 2024 schedule pairs that finished 1&2 in their division…Bills/ Mia, kc/LA, rams/ sea, Phil/ was, hou/ Ind so it can matter if you have to play both on the road vs both at home in 2024 both south divisions were the weakest overall while a-west and n-north were the best NFC West in 2025 play both south divisions. Don’t be surprised if that division has 3 teams in the playoffs. playing hard teams at home and weaker teams on the road can adjust teams record by a few games than if it was reversed such as a 3-1 vs 1-3 record in the div-div play. If you do this with both divisions could swing a team from 2-6 to 6-2 in these games 3. Close games— this can lead to early season confidence if you are an upstart team winning, or it can kill an early season favorite. Teams can build from this if they play well late in the season or you play close against good teams.Outliers in this have either more than half the games or if the difference between wins and loses is more than 2. Teams range from 7-12 games that were 8 pts or less outliers are — we heard all season about KC being 11-0. Some others of note are Philly 8-2, SF 2-6, Chicago 2-7, min 8-1, ny giants 1-9 , was 8-3. In the afc den 1-6, cin 4-7, JAX 3-8: Indy 8-4. houston went 6-5, ATL 6-6…with Atlanta they go 9-3 they are the div winner and a respected team. Chicago vs Washington 2-7 vs 8-3. Small margin difference and chicsgo could be in the WC hunt. With a rookie QB this year, the team could make strides snd be in the playoff battle. 4. injuries in 2024 seriously affected team performance. San Francisco, Jacksonville, Miami, and Dallas are teams that jump out the latter 3 had time without their starting QB. SF had other injuries. 5 schedule oddities ….sometimes this could kill a team early with a tough schedule or build confidence. Pittsburgh had a weaker start of the season schedule where they avoid divisional play and kc and PHL until second half of the season. Had these been spread out over the course of the season they might have been sitting around 500 for much of the season, this also might have pushed some of their early wins over den, la to later where they might not have won. Every year you usually get 2-3 teams that make the playoffs that didn't the year before and on the flip side others get kicked out.

Hard to say how history could have changed….. First off Buffalo is a top 10 media market in the US if you add the Canadian population. If buffalo built a new stadium in the mid 1960s the expos could have bern playing in buffalo. Business might have come to buffalo being a 4 team market. East of welland canal might have gone through a major development taking some of torontos growth away WNY should have women’s hockey and soccer team. They could have a women’s basketball team. arrant football could go to Rochester or Syracuse

I disagree on the last part. I don’t see how the Bengals could keep both WRs snd Burrow under standard vet contracts without sacrificing other positions. it coukd be done on a short 1-2 year period if there was an age gap like chase was 30+ with 2 years left and Higgenscwas coming off a rookie contract with the intention of letting chase walk/ retire. the other time it might work for 1-2 yrs is if you have a young D on rookie contacts( 8 of core 13) and 4 or other 5 are on $5M and under vet contracts. You have a DE/edge getting paid.4 of the 8 are on 1st round contracts. You have a very good D so you see 3 of them are going to get paid high money. You are using this extra cap space to cover the excess in WRs.

It works to a point, but you also need to balance your needs. if the BPA was a QB shoukd the bills draft a QB in round 1? No. If you drafted say 2 DL in the first 2 picks you shouldn’t draft a 3rd one just because it spit back at you. you factor in teams needs you also know by overall grades how deep a draft is. You coukd have a bunch with top50 ratings thrn the rest at that position are mid 6th rounders or later. In another drsft you might not have many with high grades in 1st or 2nd but you have many rated outside the top 100 for day 3 picks.

yrs they got pressure by their 4 DL….but other things you are missing…. 1. The eagles limited Kermit’s first/ hot receiver which gave time for the QB pressure 2. Kermit was off in his throwing 3. they controlled/ limited the run game their QB rush contained him first limiting his scrambling outside thrn squeezing the pocket. they would be using local affiliate ad slots ( yes they get them) in likely just neighboring states and other states within a days drive from campus. Some national companies that mainly in top 50 metro areas only do ads in the local tv market slots. Regional chains like a mainly SE store chain/ restaurant does that as well.
