  1. bigger issue with streaks in division play playing twice a year. In modern nfl you tend to play teams in congpverrnce once every 3/5 years and 6/8 years on the road. Teams roster tend to change over significantly over 6/8 years.
  2. I am surprised… you had QB issues. The team also had a 5-7 one score game record. I also get they are a crossroads with Henry likely not returning and Tannehill probably not back.
  3. Yep you run into schedule problems with… Combine— push it later you get into March madness and nfl loses tv ratings on event. Indy is a regular host of something. UFA open date— this would need to move because of time to e v a l. If you moved drsft to before free sgrncy would totally change drsft strategy. Now free agency affects who you turn focus on drafting. NFL draft needs to move to later— then you run into college graduation ceremony conflicts. if they altered the playoffs where say 1-7 got in playoffs and 8-9 had a play in/WC round they could structure controlled interviewing where 28 teams are open for interviewing. The two games on Thursday and Friday. Weekend is open for interviewing those 4 teams. Playoff planning starts on Tuesday. For most teams it’s a week off before playoffs start. The 2 more games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night and Monday night moves their too. if it happened this season sunday night last regular season game mon-Friday coach interviews for 28 teams Thursday and Friday JAX vs CIN, SEA vs NO. friday-sun coach interview continue for thurs snd fri game staffs. Monday decisions are due. Wednesday-Sunday quarterfinal round games
  4. I agree with the premise of holding coach hiring till after conference championship game with thst off week for interviews and hiring. the issue is setting up a staff in time for the combine and free agency. they could move UFA opening date to April 1 and draft to weekend before Memorial Day ( but this would interfere with college graduation ceremonies) and draft combine move to third weekrnd in March , same weekend as March madness begins). NFL ratings would loose to this.
  5. I agree…this would be a very unique situation with Chicago having #1 pick and Harbaugh on the market. Eberflus does not deserve to be fired.
  6. In other news….the world is round…….
  7. Many of the Bills fans you see are not travelers but locals to that area of the country who are connected to buffalo.
  8. Bellichrck ….I don’t view him as GOAT. he rode a QB. He also hasn’t had success off his coaching tree. since he hasn’t succeeded post brady with QB. I expect them to draft a QB in the draft.
  9. Another interesting stat continues… Steelers and Rams both went 5-1 in division and made the playoffs. Since 33 teams this is > 95% chance of playoffs if 5-2 in division. the % could be higher if they didn’t start with final week division games and have div winners rest starters and lose and end up not being 5-1. only about 5 teams went 5-1 and missed playoffs since this division format started.
  10. Its interesting to see one score games and good and bad seasons explained. over the past few seasons Vikings have bern known for many one score games. 2023 was no different going 6-8. That's 14 out of 17 games. That's not factoring in their QB rotation. Tennessee also had a bunch of one score games going 5-7. Denver 8-9 this year, had a bad season last year in one score games. This season, as with most teams, thry were near 500 going 5-4. Buffalo went 6-6. All loses were 1 score . Baltimore also had all loses in one score losses going 4-4. Dan Francisco went 1-3. Only Cincy game was a 2 score loss. They also had the fewest. Dallas went 3-2 in theirs. Pittsburgh on the other hand went 9-2 , Philadelphia went 8-4. This could signal a drop off next year. Houston went 7-3., Cleveland 6-2. on the flip side…Charges went 3-8, Saints 3-6.
  11. I looked at one weather forecast system …thats where my sources was. others might have difference but 7 days out still is unreliable
  12. I think Fields is decent enough/ above replacement that if he changes teams he might have better success. in my season prediction thread I had bears as a WC team. They had I think 3 two score 4 th quarter leads they lost ( lions, browns, another team) and a4th quarter tie ( saints). They win one of those games, yeasterdays bears-packers coukd have been a winner gets WC game
  13. Potential playoff rematches next year….. eagles-rams- packers all play each other coeboys-lions-bucs-49ers pkay each other packer-49ers, lions-rams, eagles-bucs in AFC bills-ravens-Texans-chiefs play each other fins-browns chiefs play Steelers and browns fins-Texans Super Bowl bills-lions fins-packers bills/fins-49ers/Rams cowboys/eagles-Browns/ravens/steelers cowboys-texans ravens-Bucs lions/packers-texans bucs-chiefs 49ers-chiefs
  14. Lake effect bands may push snow to the far south towns with NW winds so not much in OP. KC — partly cloudy temps around 20 at game time TB — could be a rainy game temps in 60s DAL- dome DET- dome HOU— dome
  15. The FG would have been 53+ yards…that's not a gimmie snd thry likely talked to bass on making FGs and his distance. If he said I’m a little sore and I don’t think I can kick 50+ today affects the call.
  16. I get the play…you make the 1st it’s kneel downs and you win. A punt might mean the ball moves 17 yards down the field. They were also up by 7. they got the ball and wanted to burn the clock.
  17. 2024 and 2025 positional Afc west at afc east 2026 divisional match up so kc at buffalo the schedule cycle runs through 2025. starting in 2026 they could switch team pairs in positional games so right now buf- Mia is a pair and kc-LAC is a pair. Switching pairs could change hime/ road pattern. In 2009 they switched team pairs in the nfc west which resulted in buffalo playing st Seattle in 2004, then in buffalo 2008 and 2012, at seattle in 2026, at buffalo in 2020, at Seattle in 2024. there also has bern some talk in changing structure like going to just one conference of 16 teams and then only conf winner gets bye and thrn teams may play more teams in conference just once a year.
  18. It alternate 2023 placement nfc at afc 2024 afc at nfc 2025 afc at nfc 2026 nfc at afc
  19. bills win Super Bowl…it’s likely hosting jets. I don’t see any playoff rematches occurring in that game. 49ers and Chiefs home games on 425 or national TV. Lions game rematch on Turkey day?would they move it to nbc though? I wouldn’t be surprised if Seattle and Rams games on consecutive weeks with one on Thursday night.
  20. Monday night must be a 4 vs 5 match up because the schedule opponents is set after Sunday nights game where the MNF winner plays on Sunday. 2/7 and 3/6 winners determine 4/5 opponent. Monday night winner WILL play on Sunday the next weekend it was eagles at bucs or browns at Texans. Given abc did the Texans they probably wanted the nfc game.
  21. Updated the playoff order but it’s based on when they exit the playoffs by weekend then sort within.
  22. Should Bills fans thank the Titans… they beat the Fins in dramatic fashion ( Levi’s QB) today beating Jags ( Tannehill qb)
  23. The first pick…the play before was an uncalled mugging. Likely mean a TD. The second pick on 4th down not a big deal. Cook TD drop cost 7 the turnover on sack cost 3. this could have been 38-14
