We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)
RunTheBall replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have a body of work to evaluate McD from. He’s 0-6 in OT games. His defense has given up last minute game winning drives again and again and again. Why does anyone here think that’s going to change? Seriously, besides blind optimism why should anyone think the outcomes will be different with him as Head Coach? -
McD needs to go. It’s OVER. 0-6 in OT. Defense chokes nearly every single time they need to stop a game winning drive. In retrospect, he should have been fired after 13 seconds. Thanks for turning the franchise around, now GTFO

11/26/23 Week #12 GAMEDAY Bills at Eagles Pregame Thread
RunTheBall replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it just comes down to the trenches like most games. If we can hold our own on both lines, there’s a very good chance we win. If we get dominated on either one it’s going to be a very long day. -
Really good game for von to become von again
RunTheBall replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
The expectations for Von coming of an ACL were always ridiculous. I think you limit Von to 10 snaps a game or so and use him situationally so he can get some reps in and not hurt the team until he starts showing some burst. It’s up to the coaches not to put him in on critical downs or say, 3rd and short against Cinci to hold an edge against the run. Pure idiocy by McD. I think the best we can hope for is that if we make the playoffs he comes back to like 80% Von and can have some sort of impact. I’d expect if he’s going to return to form it won’t be until next year, and that’s a big if. -
AFC East Miami Dolphins (7-3) @ New York Jets(4-6) Friday 3pm FOX
RunTheBall replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jet’s are a complete disaster. Sure I hope they win but the only way that happens is with multiple Miami turnovers and a Miami offensive meltdown. Hopefully this isn’t the week the refs decide to start calling holding on Sauce Grabner. -
Week 12: Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles
RunTheBall replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe Gabe will show up again -
Josh has reached a plateau. It’s up to him to break through it. He’s always been a little immature, which is something most loved about him. The happy elite gunslinger just having fun. We’re seeing this year the weight of expectations taking a bit of a toll. Everyone can see his head hasn’t been right for most of the season. Why? Who knows. If Josh decides to dedicate his entire year to becoming the best QB he can be, like Brady (uggh) did, then I don’t think Josh has come close to his ceiling. That means taking care of his body and mind all year long, something I think he’s kind of taken for granted until recently. If he doesn’t, then we will be left with a Top 5 highly variable QB that we can still win a championship with. If he does, he could be a first ballot hall of famer with a couple SB rings on his hand.

Eagles are very beatable, so are the Chiefs. Chiefs were the better team last night but blew it, which is rare with KC and I loved seeing it. Chiefs should have rolled them but 2 red zone turnovers kept the Eagles in it. One by Mahomes, one by Kelce. Love it. Kelce is being doubled more often now because KC’s other weapons are garbage. Even then he doesn’t look as dominant but it’s just one game. Against us, MVS will probably go off and have 12 catches for 120 and 2 TDs.
-
Why is everyone so worried about the Eagles getting beat? You really think that makes any difference to next week? If they blew out KC most people here would be like “No way we can beat that team in Philly” I don’t see any reason why we can’t beat Philly next weekend. The key is breaking even on the lines and preferably winning the trenches. Hurts is way over rated.
-
KC is infuriating. Mahomes is just so good. He uses his legs better than Josh and gets down every time. It demoralizes and breaks the defense every time he picks up a first by scrambling. Does KC ever play a tough game away from Arrowhead? The only potentially tough game they play away is Jax. Absolutely ridiculous by the NFL.

John Warrow gets "corrected" by McDermott
RunTheBall replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
TBD has a long and storied history of running reporters and sources off the board. Granted, most but not all of them were very thin skinned and couldn’t handle much critique, but then we also have a number of scorched earth posters who went overboard with the venom. Welcome to the internet. -
I think we need to win the Division to get in. So we need to be 1 game behind Miami before we play them in week 18. That’s unlikely but it’s doable. Can’t lose another AFC game if we want a chance at the wild card though. That means W’s against Miami/NE/KC/Chargers I’m counting on Miami’s usual December swoon but they look much better this year unfortunately.

Gabe cannot play in the slot He get’s zero separation. He’s not quick twitch, he’s like a train that takes time to get up to speed. That’s exactly the opposite of what you want in the slot I’d guess Brady leaves Gabe where he is, uses him to block and draw coverage downfield, and hope for Playoff Gabe to appear if we make it that far
-
I have ZERO concern about Diggs. In fact, I loved the fact that we could put up 32 points without him and Davis being big factors. Sauce is an over rated but solid CB and they were doubling Diggs all night. So what did Brady do? He schemed for their weaknesses which were defending the run, defending the middle of the field, and defending RBs catching the ball. That’s exactly what an OC should do. Against other teams that aren’t as strong in defensive backfield, Diggs will be a bigger part of the game plan.
-
You’ve got 3 Von apology posts in this thread alone. Von is competing with Kingsley Jonathan for least effective DE on his team and he’s been a liability when he’s on the field. He blew the edge on Cinci’s 3rd down and Mixon waltzed by him. He has ZERO impact on how well Oliver is playing because Von hasn’t been doubled once since he’s come back. He’s still a very limited player. The reality is the best we can hope for is that we sneak into the playoffs and he rounds into some sort of impact player. He isn’t that now.

The Good, The Sad, The Ugly, The Joe Brady Era Begins Edition
RunTheBall replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
You’re high if you think we aren’t losing another game Punch the breaks a little. It was a solid W over an inferior team, that’s it. We are on to Philidelphia -
Gabe does so much you guys can’t appreciate. He’s the Tremaine Edmunds of the offense and you just don’t know how to break down game film like Cover 1 or Shill Capaccio to notice. He draws coverage away from other players, well, at least 1 guy. He takes 6 seconds to get up to full speed which really throws off the defensive timing. He blocks well and is an expert at setting us up for going for it on 4th down when he drops 3rd down passes in his hands. You just don’t appreciate our captain. Edit: Oh sorry, here’s the /s for 1/4 of this board

The reason Allen and the run game are clicking has a lot to do with the plays that are called and the timing of those calls. Dorsey just picked plays out of a hat. Brady actually had some strategy and flow to his play calling. Big difference.
-
Joe Brady just called a game that destroyed the #3 defense in the league on 5 days notice. Anyone who has any complaints can just go STFU and hang out with Filthy Beast. We got the W against a good D when an L would have ended the season. That’s all that matters. We live to fight another day. Bonus points - we won without Diggs or Davis making plays, which means when they get back involved things will get even better. Only downside I saw was the defensive injuries which may be too much to overcome and Smiley should have been fired at halftime.

Tyreek injured his pimp hand. Good.

Dolphins hauled out of a 3rd down sack by a stupid raiders holding penalty. Dumb football Edmunds looking great standing around congratulating his fellow LB making plays / picks

Raiders screwed on that Tua fumble. Should have been a scoop and score but blown dead. Yet they let Raiders non fumble play through until replay overturned it

Some thoughts re AFC, JA, McBeane and Injuries
RunTheBall replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall
The bolded is the best summation of why this offense started misfiring after the Green Bay game last year Dorsey did not adjust his scheme adequately after teams adjusted to his initial offense and he was lost since then. I’m glad he’s gone because that problem doesn’t fix itself. IDK if Brady has any answers considering it’s the same scheme but maybe his play calling can make up for the lack of scheming guys open and we can squeak a few games out while he tinkers. That’s a long shot but best we’ve got. -

You seriously think if the Bills make the playoffs that Pegs will fire McD?? That sounds more like what you want to happen (which is perfectly fine) than reality. I’m off the McD train but I don’t expect him to be gone unless we lose out. Even then it wouldn’t really surprise me if he gets another year -
Yes? I’m here. I’ve always been here.
