  1. Agreed--pulling them out of shotgun was first-class coaching at a crucial moment. And, if I may, a modest proposal: I nominate Sean McDermott for Coach Of The Week--an award which does not exist, but should. At the very least, Coach Of The Week would give message boards across the land something else to banter about.
  2. Yes, for the briefest moment a dark cloud enshrouded the scene, and it was Y2K in Tennessee all over again.
  3. No, I don't watch non-Bills NFL games. And I'm perversely proud of it.
  4. He attempts to convey drama with sheer volume, and his quips are prefabricated. Bring back Murph.
  5. Start with Locked On Bills (Joe Marino). There are a few others (already mentioned) that are worth your while, but Joe Marino sets the standard.
  6. I love Josh Allen (don't we all) but I must say this peek at him was a bit disconcerting/disappointing. He came off as something of a doofus, especially with the stupid tone of bravado during his drinking comments. He has so carefully curated his image up until now, and well he should. His successful work with charities (to say nothing of his team leadership status and his advertising income) will suffer should his image slide.
  7. Football, as a spectacle, is better when the quarterback/passing game does not eclipse all else.
  8. We are one of about 32 NFL teams with "12th Man" on the wall. Take one down and pass it around...
  9. Love this story. And the photo. You, your daughter, and Tommy Doyle have made my day.
  10. Only through 2027? The smart move would be to sign them for life.
  11. Where some see a sports icon, and a superstar generating blockbuster media ratings, others see with smaller eyes.
  12. The Buffalo Bills were NFL pushovers for nearly two decades. For the last half of a decade, the Bills have been a force in the NFL. The transition began the moment Sean McDermott arrived in town. Put a number on that.
  13. I agree wholeheartedly with the premise of this thread. In fact, my entire family agrees with this premise. Moreover, at family reunions we usually end up around the campfire, agreeing with this premise long into the summer night...
  14. Metaphors are timeless. Some day you'll understand.
  15. The reference was to a name which has become a metaphor for speed. But thanks for the biographic details.
  16. Yes, he is fast. But note that this was a Master's Division race. That wasn't Usain Bolt in the lane next to him.
  17. I can't even begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed 'Buffalo being Buffalo.'
  18. Chris Brown's play by play is like his daily radio show: while he screams into the mic, listeners are supposed to (I guess) equate volume with enthusiasm. Unlistenable.
  19. Domes literally lack atmosphere. As they stifle the elements, domes deaden the game.
  20. In an NFL city whose fan base, over the long haul, has been more celebrated than the team, Murphy personifies the Mafia. There is rhyme, rhythm, reason, and a touch of poetry in that.
  21. John Lang is an absolute mensch. Surely you remember mensch from your high school Yiddish course. I directed a charity event for 15 years in a row before handing the event off to the next director. I asked John Lang to show up for the first one and he showed up for the next 14 as well. He asked for nothing and added a lot of heart and soul to the event. He dresses like Elvis, but he's actually Clark Kent.
