  1. It goes back to a show where they were b*tching about "fancy" beers. Purple Donkey was a made up name to mock microbrews. What was ironic about it was that their take was along the lines of "I'm not gonna be seen drinking that. I'll make fun of my friends that drink those stupid microbrews. Drink real beer. Blah Blah Blah." and then 10 minutes later Schopp tells a caller "I don't care what people think." Well yeah dipsh1t, apparently you do.
  2. How about we wait and see if he can throw 12 TD's in a season before we crown him king of OP. But seriously, lock him up next year. Give him the money meant for Peters.
  3. I don't want to get into the whole argument in this thread, but the main basis for my criticism is due to the fact that mohhammed was a violent dickw@d who changed his tune as he grew in power. In other words, he preached peace when he had nothing, but once he had a significant following it was all conquering and death for non-believers. Hardly peaceful.
  4. Jesus dude.... I have taken a fair amount of flak for my criticism of islam on this board, and I still say that as a religion it's a pretty poor one. But you are painting millions with a broad brush and are coming off like an extremist yourself. Should we really be afraid of every muslim in Detroit and Lackawana? Really?
  5. LOL - He was probably looking at Cindy when he said it. http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_tempe...in_92_0407.html
  6. Well he did say it , so obviously race must have influenced his decision. Just like James Baker said at the same event: "I think electing the first African-American president would send a powerful message not just abroad but in this country as well." But Baker is still voting republican. Does that make him racist? Hmmm... http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200...15/1403219.aspx
  7. Apparently I really need to start using the "/sarcasm" at the end of my posts...
  8. Yeah - if you believe his words you might be tricked into thinking that. What everyone really knows is that Powell is the final cog in the "get-a-secret-muslim-into-the-white-house" plan. Look at all of the players and their ties to Asia? Obama? Educated in Asia. McCain? Jailed in Asia. Powell? Fought in Asia. Palin? Can see Asia. LittleBigPlanet? Developed for a console made in Asia, and stopped by muslims. It all adds up!!!!
  9. Saw the transformer blow. Didn't see what hit it, but I heard a boom and saw a huge billow of yellow-ish smoke. Happened right by gate 6, behind the Rockpile.
  10. I think the overall responses in this thread just go to illustrate my initial point: anecdotal evidence is anything but evidence. Some people will say "I saw a fight where..." while other posts say "I have never seen a fight in my section...". I would like to see some actual data to back up the claim from the author, thats all. It's a sweeping generalization with no substance.
  11. I found this one: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121867201724238901.html And it basically states the top 1% will go back to 1990 rates, but actually be required to pay them. Doesn't seem to outrageous.
  12. Thanks... Any real responses welcomed.
  13. You guys are loony. We already tax based upon levels of income. The more you make the more you pay. I think Obama is suggesting he would adjust the percentages so that the top earners pay a little more, while people on the lower end of the scale pay a little less. Adjusting percentages != communism. You can agree or disagree about what effects such a change would have on our economy, but to just blindly claim that such an adjustment is tantamount to the creation of a stateless society is simply preposterous, and shows that the level of political discourse in our nation is comparable to that which you would see on a playground. (FYI - I'm a registered republican, and I approve this post.)
  14. Anyone know any Southtown bars that usually get the Boxing PPV's? I have a friend coming in from out of town that wants to watch, but I don't feel like forking out 50 bucks for a boxing match.
  15. Well he owns at least 4 businesses, so Mr. Ordinary Average Plant probably does have one that nets 250k. Are we seriously arguing against margins? I'm mean, we all know that a flat tax, as nice and fair as it sounds, actually isn't that fair right?
  16. http://www.eisenstadtgroup.com/2008/10/15/...s-keating-oops/ Yep - Joe is a real regular guy.
  17. I think many of you are missing the point. "Worst" implies that there has been some comparison (at least in the mind of the author). I'm stating that to write an artcile and make such a claim, that there should be some facts to back it up. I'm not questioning the veracity of the statement (as I think it may be close to the truth) but from a journalistic standpoint, you should provide more substance than "Bah - these guys are the worst!" In other words, how did the author come to this conclusion?
  18. It's definitely a perspective thing: I spoke with Raiders fans at the last game that couldn't believe how well they were treated. I guess I was just looking for some empirical data to support his notion that Bills fans were "some of th worst". What does that even mean? Vulgar? Violent?
  19. How many other NFL stadiums have you been to?
  20. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122393578191630373.html Mark Yost penned an article about how the Eagles are combating rowdy fans. One of the methods mentioned was a text message system, similar to the rowdy-fan hotline in place at the Ralph. Of course Yost takes the opportunity to slam the Bills a bit, by making it not only appear that the Bills have no such system in place (they do - the hotline), but by making the claim that Bills fans are "some of the worst-behaving fans in all of sports." I would like to know by what metric we are being judged that makes us the worst. Does he simply have the opinion that we are amongst the worst? Is he basing this on arrest reports, surveys, NFL statistics? It reeks of poor research, also evidenced by the fact that he got some dates wrong too. Don't get me wrong, I do think we are a rowdy bunch, but if a national publication going to assert that we are among the worst when it comes to behavior, I think t should be backed up by facts.
  21. Yes. They are doing their best to self regulate (although they put themselves in akward positions with their practices to begin with).
  22. Exactly this. I think TG is tired of being in a small market.
  23. No, but you sure are posting a lot.
  24. Maybe splitting hairs here - but BF said the police could have acted inappropriately, and you said you didn't care. Or did I miss something? I'm not siding with Benson - but if the police might have broken the law, I care. Just as if a citizen might have broken the law, I also care.
  25. You don't care when the police overstep their bounds? I guess that explains why you think Palin is a qualified VP - obviously she thinks it's OK to abuse her authority as well.
