  1. I sold all of my GE shares about 1.5 years ago to use as the down payment on my home.
  2. Don't forget we might now have a center that isn't a sieve.
  3. A stop at Louies Red Hots and a can of Genny Cream? "No onions though son. Mr Wilson doesn't believe in extras."
  4. I have FIOS and love it. Very fast and seems to be more reliable than TWC with regard to internet outages and the frequency at which you need to reset the modem. 2 very notable caveats: 1. Do not fool yourself for one second by thinking Verizon customer service will somehow be better than any one else. Hell mostly likely has a less painful and bureaucratic method of treating child molesters who tortured animals while on their way to rob the elderly. Consider yourself warned. 2. If you use are an Xbox Live subscriber (or plan to be one) and and would like to connect your Xbox to your home network wirelessly, you may have a problem. The standard issue mode/router they supply (Actiontec MI424WR) has firmware that causes NAT issues. Long story short, you may have to hardwire the 360 to your router. No a major issue for some people, but depending on where your console is in relation to your router it could be a pain.
  5. Knuckle-head.
  6. This is true. In fact, you are only allowed to beat your wife. Lightly.
  7. I hate almost all standard pop songs and yet I have some affinity for that one.
  8. They certainly support good eating: Monday night: 10 cent jumbo shrimp Tuesday night: 25 cent chicken fingers Wednesday night: 5.99 large pizza Thursday night: 10 cent wings And yeah, there are always good bands playing. They have Dave Constantino in wing night for cryin out loud!
  9. Anchor is way overrated. Some of the better places are: The Pub (on Broadway in Depew) Barbill (East Aurora) Rhino's (Southwestern in OP: 10 cent jumbo wings on Thursdays. And yeah they are good).
  10. Are you saying there is something wrong with that sentiment? I can't imagine how not having a team is somehow better than having one that is mediocre.
  11. I appreciate the responses gang!
  12. Kucinich is Croatian for "talented tongue". Apparently that trait serves him well at work and home.
  13. So this is the first year my portfolio took a net loss. My question is, will my losses negate any gains or dividends that would be normally listed as income? I may have an answer in the mail today if my 1099 comes, but figured I'd see what the good folks of TBD thought.
  14. Yes, single malts are much better. And unless you are comparing Old Smuggler to Balvenie, the price difference isn't that great. I believe you can get a bottle of The Glenlivet 12 year for under 30 bucks.
  15. Why would you consider that it was likely he was a "drug crazed raving maniac"? Because he played metal, or worked for Ozzy? I realize it might have been an attempt at humor, but he was not known to be a party animal like his boss. In fact, his reputation was quite the opposite.
  16. My buddy spends an inordinate amount of his personal time looking for (what he believes to be) poignant anagrams. Here is one he came up with over the weekend: Joseph Robinette Biden One hit job, be president.
  17. I actually have no problem with that. I'd take it one step further and execute them (assuming by 'terrorist' we mean someone hell-bent on killing innocent civilians in the name of religion). Where I do have a problem is that there is no way of knowing which of the detainees are actually 'terrorists'. How many were farmers that picked up a gun because some local Taliban commander forced them to do so, and they were then captured? How many were falsely accused and turned in by someone for a bounty? If there was some litmus test that was 100% accurate in determining who was guaranteed to go commit murder in the name of religion, I'd have no problem shooting them. But unfortunately, we live in the real world and we have to have some kind of due process to protect the one innocent guy. edit: Wasn't really directing it at you BF, just spring boarding off your post...
  18. I hope she gets some of the money up front and buys some Proactive.
  19. LOL - I've been saying "a bug in a glass of wine isn't irony" since that song came out.
  20. Had Barbills wings last week: Incredible. Might be some of the best ever. Plus, their beef on weck is great too!
  21. For those of you thinking about making the switch, I will warn you to be careful when talking to their sales people. They will misquote rates, and tell outright lies to get you to sign up. Their customer rep. assured me this very morning that they now offered Howard Stern On Demand. He even (supposedly) checked with his supervisor. This was a flat out lie. Verizon has no deal in any area to provide that service, but this dude was ready to have me cancel my cable and schedule an install based upon his lie. Also, last week a friend had Verizon install FiOS TV and he had a similar experience. The phone rep told him about a deal that didn't exist to sign him up. So if you are switching to FiOS because you think they will be better than TWC in terms of customer service, you should think twice.
  22. I want to switch to FiOS so badly, but my wife refuses to give up Howard Stern OnDemand.
  23. I like staying at the Flamingo. Central to the strip, and pretty cheap. Decent buffet. Also, as far as shows go, the Amazing Jonathan is great.
  24. Should he expect a meaningful discussion when in his opening post he refers to everyone as 'tools'?
