  1. He was a member of the Texas State Senate. Come on BlueFire, you should know that! At any rate, while it was foolish of this guy to go on TV to support a candidate about who he knew very little, like the artcile said, Matthews is a wind-bag, just looking for those 'gotcha' moments.
  2. Actually, maybe he did, if you catch my drift...
  3. Nothing shows more respect to the flag and anthem than yelling to people about their headgear and starting a fight while the song is being performed.
  4. I'm glad so many morons idea of respecting the anthem (and by way of proxy, American values) is to think that it's ok to force someone to do something. If you want to respect what people have died for, try respecting people's rights to freedom of speech and expression. Apparently the irony is completely lost on you dolts. I seriously hope one of you in the "I'll take it off for you" crowd gets your !@#$ing nose broken if you ever were to try it. Oh, but wait, it will probably never happen since I'm willing to bet you guys talk a lot of sh*t, but don't actually have the balls to back it up.
  5. Do they? I never thought he ever gave them the choice. He just shows up whenever there is a chance to make more waves.
  6. I checked the date on the article, and it doesn't seem to be an April fools joke. That's crazy. If the proposal said "bike" or "chemistry book" I could comprehend the rationale, but #$% ipod's?
  7. Which part? The "oh how will I explain this to my poor daughter" part, or the "I don't know if I can keep this couch" part?
  8. True, I hadn't thought about that! One thing I've learned from the casino folks I know, a good portion of the Bills are regular at the casino. He used to tell me what a horrible gambler Travis Henry was, and that he would make the dumbest bets. One thing about Everett that he said was pretty funny happened earlier last year. My friend picked up KE in a late round in his fantasy draft, as a backup TE, but eventually dropped him. One day his fiancee (also a casino dealer) had KE at a table and he wasn't tipping well so she apparently let him know that her man "just dropped you from his fantasy team". Always makes me laugh.
  9. Nothing earth shattering here, but got some mild "scoops" (if you could even call them that) on Everett and Thomas yesterday. One of my friends works at the casino in the Falls and sees a lot of the Bills on a regular basis. He mentioned that Everett, who is a regular, looks like he packed on about 20 pounds of muscle and looks "way more cut up and chiseled" according to him. He also mentioned that Thomas was a true gentleman, and is one of the nicest/classiest people that he has met. Like I said, nothing tremendous here, but just little info that I thought some of you might find interesting.
  10. Well, yes and no. From his post: "Israel seems to be just as historically challenged as other nations" He kinda made this specifically about Israel at that point. Since the story and OP had nothing to do with Israel, but the UK, I have to believe he was going out of his way to criticize Israel. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just found it odd that his first reaction to someone denying the holocost or rewriting history was to say "Oh yeah, well Israel is bad too!!!"
  11. We will be doomed so long as people like you continue to keep your collective heads in the sand. I honestly can't believe you managed to turn a thread about Holocost denial into a thread criticizing Israel.
  12. I have a Pali on Proudmoore, but recently I've been playing on Drenden.
  13. I just got back into it last week. /dev/null - WoW doesn't require quite as much time as EQ, and it's a lot better for soloing when compared to most other MMORPG's. If you can find a buddy to play with, and you get access to a Teamspeak or Ventrillo server, it can be a lot of fun. edit: What realm(s) are all of you currently on?
  14. 2006 883 Sportster. Broke my neck, and had to find it a new home.
  15. I'm afraid to ask... but what did she have to say?
  16. So the question now becomes: How far is Iran gonna push this thing? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle1563877.ece They have to know that anything less than a catch and release is not only going to incur the wrath of the US and the Brits, but seriously hurt their world standing at a time where they are already on shaky ground.
  17. I wonder what he didn't like about Buffalo women? Not thuggish enough?
  18. I can't stand the way Heafy sings on the new album. It sounds like a Hetfield impersonation. I loved Ascendancy though, great album. Anyway, it's about time we had a decent metal thread 'round these here parts!!! I've been listening to Amon Amarth and the new Shadows Fall lately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFq2YJKYa-k (This song makes me want to be a Viking.)
  19. www.penny-arcade.com Great web comic, with some of the best writing out there. They also have a very large forum community.
  20. "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it...whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem."
  21. I have been using Line 6 for over 10 years now. I have an AxSys 212 and a Vetta HD/4x12 setup. Both are great amps, and I've also heard very good things about the Spiders, but I have yet to play through one. Overall, the flexiblity of the Line 6 products make them ideal for metal and modern rock. When combined with their FBX pedal, you will be able to get just about every tone and effect that you will ever need right at the tip of your toe. The only complaint I have ever had with them is that their simulated feedback can be a little bit too much, and sometimes at very high stage volume, you need to make adjustments to your drive on distorted channels (but that's a concern with nearly all amps, digital or analog).
  22. By that logic, then Fates Warning must be the most interesting band in the universe. I used to play with a drummer who insisted on doing everything in oddball time signatures. Difficult, yes. Interesting, not always. But I'm not going to get into that too much with you , as I always thought "Money" was a decent song. You honestly think that "Is there anybody out there" and "Comfortably numb" are amongst the most "interesting" tracks on the wall? Don't get me wrong, I love comfortably numb and have done a cover of it in just about every non-tribute band I've ever been in. But to cite it as one of the more musically interesting tunes on that album is a bit of a stretch. "Is there anybody out there" is just filler if you ask me. The interesting tracks from a musical standpoint on that record are ones like "In the flesh", "Goodbye blue sky", "Run like hell", "Waiting for the worms" and possibly most notably, "The trial". For me, Floyd was never the same once Waters left. He on his own was decent (Amused to Death is a great album, Radio KAOS, not so much) and the Momentary Lapse/Division Bell incarnation of Floyd was a little too bland without Waters sense of the theatrical. Again, for me the sweet spot was the Animals/Wall era.
