  1. I hope so as well but I haven't really looked at him as far as blocking skills go. What have you seen in regards to his abilities in that area?
  2. Jeez 1billz, I meant "plenty around here" as in Trolls, etc... I guess that came out the wrong way. But I still think you're silly trying to base anything on our coach's comments to a media outlet. Did you ever stop to think that they just do this because they have to?
  3. 1bills, there are plenty around here who'd be happy to stick your foot in your mouth without you doing it yourself ;-). Do you honestly think he doesn't know what he's talking about or that you somehow know better?
  4. Umm, probably because the guy playing in there now is better than him. BTW, You're looking good on our bet Rico , even if it's more because of record than Play on the field....
  5. I think the Bills are still looking for a Line for the game as well
  6. He is definitely covering the ball with a second hand much more frequently this season, almost sometimes to a point where his balance is affected by it. His one armed carrying technique is basically the same as he used last year, which could have been better but was a vast improvement from 2002.
  7. Scribo and Wacka have it right. The rest is a bunch of Mularkey :-) Of course we'd go long to Evans on EVERY play if it were in fact possible.
  8. I agree. That's how it seems to have been going lately..
  9. Haven't looked at the game a second time yet, but I can't recall a single blown assignment or sack allowed by MW today. As stated he handled Ellis all day. He actually could have done a little better in run blocking today but did ok there as well. No panalties either. For an OL, that's a pretty good game. I know it's more fun to just to lambaste him and think you're smart, but apparently evaluating the play of an offensive lineman is not one of.......................... well let's just say don't quit your day job. ;-) I will say this though- Jennings had a VERY poor day today in pass protection. Gave up 3 big one's and was dominated one on one. Muy dissapointing.
  10. The hand was inded on the back of the receiver, although it did not impede the attempt to make a catch in any way. I'd say 3-4 years ago that it's a no call, but the way they try to benfit the WR these days I wasn't surprised. Hey , atleast he stayed with the WR , unlike #27.
  11. A.S. indeed should have been more disciplined on the snap counts today and that is dissaponitng, but it must also be stated that he was completely dominant against the run today not only making tackles himself, but playing the position like it's written up on the chalkboard. There were numerous plays where, in "string-out" responsibility, he would blow up the play by taking two blockers out of the equation by crashing them together himself, fully knowing he would not make the tackle but cause the tackle. He also had a sack/FF and a couple pressures. The mistakes did come at tough times but I'd atleast hesitate before trading that output for 2 offsides penalties. ;-)
  12. Perspective fellas. McGahee made the pass protection assignment error that gave up the sack to Vilma (free run to the QB), and Henry made one error by dropping an easy pass over the middle. The slate was even in this game.
  13. Bobby has looked tired for a few years now, atleast from the times I've seen him. He was always very conscious of being in good health, so I wonder what it might be specifically?
  14. I imagine he locked it himself because he was the one moderating the thread and keeping out the riff raff...
  15. If it was a counter then all bets are off... I didn't see any counter type action and that would be unusual for a FB to do, but I haven't watched the game a second time yet and I'm not sure if I will or not. :-)
  16. That hold on the FB dive play was laughable It's really just not physically possible to hold in that short flash of time on a dive play that nets 2 yards.
  17. That's a good point Tuesday re: the short yardage situations. It almost seems at times like they are too worried about selling the idea or possibility that this next play MAY not be a run. I long to be able to compare our line in this situation to a line that impressed me back in the eighties. The Patriots, yes the Patriots, way back when Craig James was the feature back. They would walk proudly up to the line of scrimmage in 3rd and 1-3, and basically tell you "Ok, we are going to run right here between left Guard and Tackle, and you're simply NOT going to stop us". There was NO threat of a pass play, just sheer will and they fired off the ball as one unit.
  18. Skins lost to the Raiders, but did beat the Broncos under Gibbs...
  19. Good read Simon. The big picture perspective you give is much appreciated here and you probably already know that I am in agreement with most of your thoughts you listed on the individual players such as Reed and Wire, Teague, Bledsoe and others. Regarding Reed specifically, it's really been tough to witness his early season production for 2 years running now. Every year I go to camp and watch him snag everything within 5 feet from all angles and I believe he is going to step forward, but you're right he just seems to have this mental hurdle that doesn't even need to be there. I can't figure out if he reads too much press, is just nervous in the fishbowl that is the NFL, or what... Aiken's time draws near and I believe he is ready for the challenge. Evans has shown enough progress even at this stage to warrant that he reman in at #2. He gets more separation than Price did already, and I think he's a more disciplined player as well. Henry really needs to begin to take his overall role on the team more seriously and get his arse in the filmroom more often. He is such a hardnosed, bruising , present runner that it's a shame he can't also channell his intensity toward his assignments. Honestly it's nice to just hang out in this thread and get away for a while from the damage control mode that I seem put myself into time after time around here with some of the more extreme absurdities .
  20. I believe you need a visit from the dead horse beaters club, yup
  21. What is this "you know who you are" crap?. I mean seriously. As if to imply that you somehow have proven yourself to be correct on your OPINION? Jennings is an above average tackle who plays equally solid run blocking and pass blocking. He has a tendency to get hurt atleast once every season. These things are well known by most people, expert or not.
  22. I believe they reported having 9 pressures off of those blitzes, but unfortunately mr. Brady is impoosible to rattle
  23. Not me but I did have a 10$ bet with Rico that he is probably liking his chances on right now.
  24. Figures ... That's the last thing we need.
