  1. My expectations are the same , maybe even a little higher . For them to flat out get rid of AJ means they are very comfortable with Allen and/or Peterman. I think Daboll is going to be a creative , effective play caller too. I'm excited. I want at least 9 Wins. No regression.
  2. Well let's hope Daboll learned a thing or 2 in NE and installed a scheme that makes them seem serviceable, week 1 will definitely be a great test
  3. Absolutely. I'm just so tired of hearing about the worse OL in the league with a scrimmage as their evidence. If it happens at Baltimore , that's something to talk about. Just tired of hearing about a scrimmage
  4. I've been saying this , ppl are panicking because we got manhandled by a top 3, stud DT in his prime and 3 very good DL surrounding him, in a SCRIMMAGE ! Where it was obvious McD was using this scrimmage to evaluate the OL , rotating guys in between series and didn't scheme for one of the best fronts in the game. Am I concerned a little? Sure. But it's more about the uncertainty how they play as a unit, not because of a scrimmage and like you said , Dabol will scheme around it , and one of the best playmakers in football will make a huge difference come next Sunday.
  5. Foster making it makes you think Allen is the guy. He and Allen had a connection all camp.
  6. I understand and I get it . Especially with the cap space available next year , Beane and McD can build on the foundation and truly put their stamp on this roster. But in the same breath, you really never know in this league. It's a league of "what ifs" for almost every club. The standard was set at 9 wins last year, anything less is a failure
  7. Maybe not to you and other fans. It is to the men at One Bills Drive , I can guarantee that.
  8. We pulled that "garbage" just last year to a vet QB on a 5-4 team because he felt another QB can give us a better chance at Winning! It's all about winning. Are you kidding me?? The point is they are both extremely young and each has shown potential in different areas and have different strengths and weaknesses. McD isn't afraid to pull that move , if the starter isn't getting it done, ya gotta go with the other guy , whoever gives the best chance to win.
  9. Absolutely. The kid has potential but clearly isn't ready for the NFL and that's okay, with hard work , he can be NFL caliber in a couple years. 0% chance he makes the 53
  10. Peterman has slowly won me over as a capable starter . I like his quick release and poise . The turnovers are concerning and turnovers are a major factor in a W or L. Allen has also won me over , even in an atrocious offensive performance against Bal, he showed poise , confidence and the stage is not to big for him. If anything that game vs Cincy proved that . His natural ability and progression in a few months has been a fantastic sign , regardless if he's the 1 or 2. This is where I'm at with both guys - whoever starts , should be put on a very short leash and if they consistently struggle, we need to get the other one in there imnediately and let the other showcase their ability. Bottom line - we have 2 Young starters that we can truly move forward with and be content with for 3 years . I also guarantee this offense, specifically OL , won't be that bad . We were missing our top player , Shady, who is a nightmare for defenses, and our best OL. Also respect Daboll enough that he figures out how to scheme around the OL. Ppl forget McD was EVALUATING positions, not scheming for the Bengals ferocious front 4 . So we need to take a deep breath and remember these variables and wait til week 1 , where I'm confident we look like a different team than we did in a Scrimmage game!
  11. It's funny. Even in the YouTube highlights , I was laughing at the commentary . I kind of appreciated the excitement for a game with a lot of guys who will never touch the field this season but wayyy over the top .. I like Brandt and that show though , they seem to understand how special Buffalo is to the NFL and always give the Bills a fair shake
  12. I think the Giants will be good. I think Bills will be good.
  13. Solid points. Nonetheless , I guess you put way more into scrimmages than I do. The same Chargers team that looked far worse than the Bills and lost 34-7 in their scrimmage? Since you're basing so much off of our game, shouldn't the same be done for them? You'd think after last year when this board had the same predictions for a 9 win Bills team , you'd learn.. It's the NFL my man , imo I think McDermott is too good a coach to field an awful team
  14. Dawkins didn't play for a reason. I'm guessing because the coaches know what he provides , and that's quality LT play. I'd bet the house the ol looks way different come week 1
  15. Looked like miscommunication and lack of chemistry on the line as a whole. They've been rotating to much at C and LG , add a QB competition and I'd bet the house that the majority of the problem today was just miscommunication versus a very good DL. Playing without your very good LT as well, McD wanted to examine individual play , it looked like very little game planning was involved and McD just wanted to look at what guys can and can't do ,to have a set 5 with 2 weeks to prepare for the Real games. Which is what you're supposed to do in a scrimmage, why show any of ur hand ?
  16. The stage clearly isn't too big for the kid. Great silver lining from an ugly SCRIMMAGE game.
  17. Last year they also had Tyrod Taylor who was afraid to throw the football and Dennison whose play calling had many girlfriends & wives of posters able to predict the play pre snap! The problem is the communication imo. Which is coachable. Woods was the big loss . He runs the line, calls the shifts ,etc and this QB and C competition didn't help We now have 2 weeks to get some chemistry on that OL.. I know what we just witnessed was depressing, embarrassing and a disaster but McD clearly was shuffling the line mid game (another reason for the confusion, terrible communication) to make a final assessment . These factors won't be a problem week 1
  18. Not having a Center/QB combo nailed down by now is also a huge problem and I'm sure was a factor today. I think we'll figure it out. Looked Very vanilla . Really missed Dawkins
  19. Can't judge anything period imo. Our stud, one of the best playmakers in the league didn't play. Our potential stud LT didn't play. No Kyle/Murphy. A very vanilla defense. I do agree with OL concerns but again , they could and should look completely different in Bmore. The staff is fully aware of the situation and will game plan accordingly. I still don't think we can be any worse than last year
  20. He looked a step late to me. The TD was a phenomenal throw but I didn't see White in position . Same with the big gain he gave up to start 2nd half, just a step late. But it's pre season and part of me is happy the first stringers got whooped, they have 2 weeks to correct the errors
  21. White and Poyer were trash too, pass defense was plain awful . But the D looked very vanilla and Davis got burned by the fastest guy in the league, I wouldn't anticipate a repeat performance in regular season.
  22. It did look good. Not sure how Star played though
  23. Clay is our best TE and one of the better ones in NFL but yes that contract is ridiculous
