This kid is a gamer, that's for sure! Not an ounce of fear in a brutal road game. I'm genuinely loving this -

Now that Ray Ray seems to have recovered from his injury, I expect him to be a big part of the O. He's a Swiss army knife and showed potential in pre season. I agree Shady deserves a legit shot at a title , he has been worth every penny for the Bills

[Edited Title] Tremaine Edmunds looks Lost

Unless the defense can gain some momentum from a great 2nd half . But yeah , Edmunds got absolutely bullied by the Chargers in the first half . -
Playing Bills is like having an extra quasi-byeweek

We'll see. We went through a brutal rough patch last year, with alot of the same narrative and finished 4-2 , only losing to NE. Well 4-3 including a super close and competitive road playoff game. I think this team has a ton of heart and they laid down a solid foundation of guys that won't quit and motivate teammates. The 60 mil in dead cap is just killing us right now talent wise -
The positive of Mayfield being good
JerseyBills replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess? I mean they just won their first game since 16 , historically bad team , their draft capital was ridiculous and has been ridiculous, they just whiffed on high picks. Obviously Dorsey wasn't involved , but just Not sure we want to model ourselves after the Browns..... Let's see after 16 games if the culture is really changing. I believe McDermott and Beane have established a change in culture, the dead money on the cap is just brutal to deal with for any team. The foundation will be fully laid down by next year when they had 3 drafts and 90 mil to bring in some high end talent that is missing right now. -

He played a very very good half of football . But it's just ridiculous to judge him or any rookie off such a small sample size -

This Year's Bears = Next Year's Bills?
JerseyBills replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya I agree but something getting severely overlooked in Allens first start is that Daboll and the offense had to basically scrap the playbook and go pass heavy after going down 28 points on 4 straight possessions. So I'm sorta putting an asterisk next to that start , as the offense was shackled and the defense knew a rookie , first time starter had to go into a pass heavy offense. I'm very intrigued by how the O will look this week. That's 2 straight games the defense failed miserably and forced the O to go pass heavy. Our running game has looked surprisingly encouraging, especially Ivory ,who looks to have a burst I didn't expect. Allen or any rookie QB needs a run game to be successful . As long as he progresses, this season is a success imo -
They showed on the broadcast that after returning to the sidelines following the offenses TD on their first possession of the 2nd half, Allen was passionately screaming at the D , in a good way , motivating them before stepping on the field. That was a fire I didn't know Allen possessed and my favorite moment of the game. It showed me the stage isn't too big and he's ready to be a vocal leader. Definitely encouraging sign you like to see from your future franchise QB

The only silver lining about the first 2 games is we have yet to see our full offense. Daboll has been forced to scrap his playbook by the 2nd quarter because he's down 2-3 scores. The little we have seen of the run game looks very encouraging , Ivory looks surprisingly explosive. As long as this D gets their heads out of their butts , we'll see a much more complete offense and Allen on full display. When your defense gives up 4 consecutive TDs in your first start , and the defense knows you're forced to go pass heavy , that's about as tough as it gets for him.

[Edited Title] Tremaine Edmunds looks Lost
JerseyBills replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first half he was absolutely atrocious, and I very rarely bash players so harshly , especially a rookie , but like you said, he was directly responsible for numerous huge plays in the first half that eventually resulted in TDs. The Chargers intentionally exploited him play after play after play. It was at the point where i felt he should have been pulled. At the same time, alot of that is on the coaches for putting him in positions he clearly isn't comfortable in. In the second half though, the whole defense looked different , and i'm very interested to look at what was done with Edmunds specifically. I know McD took over play calling too, but if we can see that defense going forward, this team can be successful. I absolutely loved Allen firing up the defense after the O scored on their first possession in the 2nd half. Back to Edmunds, if he does turn out to be a bust, that'd be a terrible look for Beane, giving up the 65th and 22nd pick to move up 6 spots. But, if he did turn out to be bad at the mike, he's so versatile and physically gifted, he can attempt to play any LB position and DE... But ya, it's at the point where ya gotta almost take him off the field if he's going to be picked on like that. I mean 10/10 in Red zone percentage for our opponents is hard to do for a defense and the MLB plays a big role down there......Maybe Preston had a bigger impact on this defense than we thought??? We're def missing something out there. -

How Safe Are Coach McDermott and GM Beane?
JerseyBills replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perfect example of the house always winning.. From an outside perspective casual fans might think they can be in trouble but anyone with a n ounce of football I q and knows anything about Buf , knows there is 0% chance of this happening. Jesus the overreacting and hot takes have reached a new level this year.. -
Lol. I think in all seriousness , Peterman is your classic QB that will look good and efficient in practice vand scrimmages , but when the real bullets fly , it seems the stage is clearly to big for him. No flow, no consistentcy, the whole O looks like it didn't believe in him. I figure the coaches saw enough in practice to have confidence that he'd be serviceable at least , but learned the hard way that he cannot be trusted to run an offense at this level in a real game. He clearly needs more time to develop. On the bright side, it's a good thing he was so bad, we now get to see Allen sooner than anticipated , clearly Allen has superior talent and looks like the stage isn't too big for him, will be interesting to see how he performs Sunday, if he's the real deal , we are set up lovely for the next decade +.
