  1. Seamless transition. None of the folks running the respective football and hockey operations are impacted.
  2. David Culley. Are you under the misguided notion that David Culley is the only coach who will be working with him? That's just not the reality of the situation. This "Cully as villain" narrative is absurd.
  3. Don't worry. I understand David Culley will be taking her under his wing as well.
  4. David Culley will not be soley responsible for his development as a QB.
  5. I don't recall the BN paper ads, but 1998 was a key moment in history. Long story short, Brandon was hired in late '97 to do one thing: secure the release of the final installment from NYS for stadium renovations; something like $61m plus iirc. That was a daunting task as one of the stipulations was the sale of all luxury suites. Not only did Brandon accomplish that less than one year into his tenure, but he secured record amounts of corporate sponsorship as well; to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. I remember walking into the stadium in 1998 and being amazed at all the new signage in and around the facility. It was night and day. And I know Mr. Wilson appreciated all that new found non-shared revenue as well so it's no surprise Russ Brandon became one of his stars. And Brandon was able to sustain that throughout, too. Which is one of the reasons he has such a great reputation in the sports marketing world. He could have written his own ticket to a job with the league and I have to wonder how much this forced resignation will tarnish his rep.
  6. I think what you describe in the Story paragraph is interesting and I'd bet that NFL personnel execs feel much the same way. His floor may be the lowest at present, but given his lack of exposure to top notch coaching and his prodigious physical and athletic gifts, his ceiling may be the highest of the bunch. For instance, as much as I love Rosen as a prospect, I'm not sure he can improve very much from where he is now. I think Allen and Darnold stand to gain the most in terms of room to grow.
  7. Good point. Those two second rounders don't add up to the #22 pick we retained. Everybody and their mother had us giving up both #1s and this board was peppered with people saying if Beane could keep #22 it would be a genius move.
  8. Awards are nice but not winning it has absolutely nothing to do with his status as the best prospect in hockey.
  9. He did play a portion of his rookie year in Swedish juniors before he played with Frolunda's big club. Still, it is exceedingly rare for a 16 year old to play in that pro league. I'm still researching how many his age have played in the past, but I did see he became the second youngest player ever to score in that league. Does the fact he didn't win rookie of the year diminish him in your eyes somehow? Pettersson had a great season putting up more than a point per game at age 19, after all. He's a deserving winner and a great prospect in his own right, picked #5 overall in last year's draft. I don't see what that has to do with Dahlin, though. If Dahlin were eligible last year, he would have gone #1 in that draft. He's the best D prospect since Potvin for a reason, after all.
  10. This past season was his second season. His rookie season began in the fall of 2016, just six months after he turned 16.
  11. He just turned 18 a couple weeks ago. I don't but I'm going to see what I can find out. Regardless, he's a generational talent at the position.
  12. Imagine that. 16 years old and playing in the third best pro hockey league in the world against grown men. The word prodigious comes to mind.
  13. Get a grip on your Brandons. Constantly citing the wrong one makes you look like you aren’t informed and don’t know what you’re talking about.
  14. I like the psychological “breakdown” concept by Sharpe; it’s new, so kudos to him for finding a new way to be heard above the other pundits. Speaking of which, when Sharpe or any of these other “analysts” break down EVERY snap a QB prospect has taken in his career while also noting the game situation for EACH one and then discussing several with both the prospect AND his coaches, then I’ll beleive they are on to something half as important.
  15. In terms of excitement and anticipation to see our shiny new toys, all three are comparable by that measure. I also share the same concern about footwork and lower body mechanics as all three were/are a train wreck from the waist down at times. All three had/have cannon arms, too. I think JP and EJ were pretty much at their ceilings coming out whereas Allen is just scratching the surface of his development. I suspect he will have a better aptitude for the game, too.
  16. Regardless, when they pick their QB tonight, it will be hailed as the greatest stroke of drafting prowess ever exhibited. A genius move for the ages.
  17. Right? Kid played the whole season. As it stands right now, Tre has shown he’s a better CB than Mahomes is a QB.
