  1. We just know it would be Belichick's.
  2. They essentially have that with the still photos they pour over after every series.
  3. Is this coach a proponent of scripting plays to begin a game? And sometimes, there is just no adjusting for being physically dominated and getting your ass kicked. But that's another discussion.
  4. Challenge, yes. Stop? I’ll believe it when I see it.
  5. Did he base this on a Danny McBride character?
  6. Totally forgot about them. Totally OK with the Jets, too. Love their fans.
  7. I’m fine with any of the Caps, Preds, or Knights. Tampa had their turn.
  8. Tre had a few nice plays to be sure and I loved the way he was up for the challenge and the grit he showed vs. such a physically superior player. But at the end of the day, in the two games against us last season, Gronk was targeted 18 times for 14 catches, 214 yards, and a TD. Holding him to one score is nice, but his production killed us none the less. Like other teams, we got in his way a bit, but didn’t stop him.
  9. Nobody can cover Gronk with a Brady throwing to him. Nobody. It’s just a football fact we have to accept. But Edmunds can make it hard as hell at least. And that’s not nothing.
  10. As long as he gets a look with top 6 wingers in training camp and a chance to show what he has with skilled linemates before getting sent down, I can understand that. IMO, the adjustment to NA ice is overstated when it comes to wingers. Especially skilled wingers. D-men? Yes, there's definitely an adjustment period but again, not as big a deal for fast, skilled Dmen who already play a sound positional game, like Dhalin.
  11. I have to think Olofsson will get every opportunity to make the big club. At least I hope so. One thing I can't stand about Housley is his old school mind set that says a rookie has to "earn" his way to the top 6 by getting minutes on the fourth line. That's horse crap. More often than not, a talented player is matched with unskilled linemates who can't get him the puck in the right spots at the right time and he suffers for it. Let's see what he can do with Jack off the bat.
  12. "... and as the season progressed, his process and execution improved." Teams are going to take advantage of his rawness and unfamiliarity. And there will be times where his speed and athleticism can be exploited by getting him to over-commit at the snap, but if he can stay on that "improve as he goes" trajectory, the sky is the limit for this kid. Especially if he can get a firm grasp on the mental aspects of the game.
  13. Ball placement has always equaled accuracy. Yes. And teach him to aim for center mass.
  14. Dufek to Franklin struck fear into every secondary they faced.
  15. No. Absolutely not. It's a major distraction and that's the last thing this team needs right now.
  16. I call bs. Everyone knows the word “Magnus” must appear in either the first or last names of the world’s strongest man; preferably in both.
  17. Can one be a carpetbagger when he’s returning to his hometown and already has deep local connections?
  18. His wife and children deserve it? I don't think they "deserve" any of this.
  19. There were many "smart posters" who thought TT would flourish at the time given his exposure to the system during his four years in Baltimore.
  20. McVay has never been a QB coach having worked primarily with receivers and TEs as well as quality control before becoming an OC in Washington. And I've read on these very pages that if you've NEVER been a QB coach or haven't been one recently (whatever that means) then there is NO chance of developing your QBs. Do you give Sean McVay any credit for developing Goff?
  21. A "defense guy" wouldn't have any idea what to look for in a successful franchise QB? You mean "defense guys" who spend their careers scheming ways to stop successful franchise QBs? This makes little sense and I could argue that "defense guys" know exactly what to look for in a QB given the time they spend trying to defeat them.
  22. Love their potential, but let’s not get too far ahead of our skis here. Keuchly, especially, was a refined player when he came in for instance.
  23. I can certainly understand that. I hope they line him up on the outside and just have him get after it now and then. So much less to know and worry about out there. But I think they want him to learn the middle and he’ll get a healthy dose of OTJT as a result. Ironically, as great as Bennett was on the edge, he could have been that much better in the middle given his speed and coverage ability. Too bad he bulked at that here but I understand why since MLB was not a glamour (read: money) position like a sack making OLB was back then and still is today for that matter.
