Week 14 Bills vs Steelers SNF PreGame Thread

Anger only works if it pays off early. If not, and the opponent gets up, that anger leads to frustration and a frustrated team is easy to beat most of the time.
-
Yeah, the Jets figured out our tendencies enough to hold us to 422 yards of offense, including 307 passing yards by Allen, and nearly 35 minutes of possession time. True, we didn’t find the end zone and I give the Jets credit for that, but we shot ourselves in the foot time after time with 11 penalties for over 100 yards as well.

Have you ever walked up to a car that looks like yours and tried to get in?

Just to be clear, the “car” isn’t a metaphor, right? -
Taking nothing away from their D line’s ability to rush the passer, but the Steelers also have the 3rd highest blitz percentage in the league. They’ve been a blitz happy team for years.
-
Ironically, the stats cited in the linked article are attributed to ESPN and NextGen Stats. Given the Steelers’ injuries, especially with Haden ruled out and Allen’s success against the blitz all season, I doubt they will be as blitz happy as usual. Especially with the man beaters we have at receiver.

Allen has been killing blitzes all year. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/8-things-to-watch-for-in-bills-vs-steelers-sunday-night-football

Congrats to Dylan Cozens and Jack Quinn for being named to Canada’s World Junior roster. Especially Quinn, who was considered a long shot to make the team initially. His making the team is a good sign of his continued development.

Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll

“Mirrors” is the perfect word to describe it when I think of that comment Josh made a few weeks back about how Daboll will just toss out plays Allen doesn’t like. That symbiotic relationship evolves over time and it’s not surprising to see two intelligent people create this kind of product after nearly three years working together. -
That might be one of the greatest answers ever. It’s one thing to have the intellect for the position and quite another to have the requisite emotional IQ and internal motivation. Allen has displayed this maturity from the moment we selected him in the draft. His detractors just don’t seem to understand that what he has can’t be coached. And he’s only 24. Guess he has an old soul.

Low man wins every time. That was textbook. But I’m still sorry to see him playing the 1 so often.
-
Let’s hope they do bring pressure because Allen has been killing blitzes all season. But given their injuries on D, I’m not sure we will see a lot of it from the Steelers. Allen and Co. have been evolving into a “pick your poison” type of offense as SF saw the other night. Saleh mixed it up all game with every look imaginable and it didn’t matter.

I’d rather the Rams do it this Thursday.

2 important games vs Dolphins in a row
K-9 replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Miami’s bubble is about to burst dramatically. -
KC all the way. Winning the division is job one. A Miami loss makes that easier.
-
Well, just as I suspected; Josh Allen is afraid to attempt a pass to the deep middle of the field.
