And the answer is, “Glowing example of courage and grace in the face of crushing circumstances.” Who is Alex Trebek? RIP.
-
Yep. And knockdowns go hand in hand with the confusion. His first option wasn’t there most of the time and that delay gave us the time to get to him. It was a masterful design.
-
True. IMO, the most impressive aspect of our defense today was that they actually confused Russell Wilson most of the afternoon. That is almost unheard of since he came into the league. Kudos to Frazier and McD.

Allen interview and discussion coming up.

Rarely does a game go exactly according to script, but this might be as close as you can get. It won’t look good statistically for the defense, but make no mistake, they beat the living crap out of Russ Wilson. And even though he passed for two more TDs today, both can be categorized as “garbage time.” Don’t get me wrong, Wilson made some amazing plays and showed why he’s considered as good as he is, but he was not the difference in this game and that just can’t be said about the vast majority of games Seattle plays. Allen on the other hand...

The much maligned deterioration of the passing game...

Right, so his one bad game of the four was the KC game. -

Don’t believe the hype. The only poor game Allen has had in the last four is the Chiefs game and I attribute that mostly to never being able to establish much of a rhythm given the Chiefs TOP dominance. -
Like I said, it’s another discussion entirely. But I fully appreciated where you were coming from in your piece.

Sugar the A gaps. The never ending quest to re-label football terms and concepts never gets old.

Still looks gimpy.

The Gabe Davis TD drop in the endzone is another example of a play that would have changed the circumstances. Per the bold text, examples of good sportsmanship never get old, so thanks for bringing that up. On another note, I must be living in some alternate reality when I read that scoring 35 points and losing is a better outcome than scoring 20 points and winning.

I suspect Zimmer would agree with me.

I don’t think this guy could help much.

Another good piece by KtD. And he’s right, quibbling about style points is absurd. Perhaps that’s a reflection of how this team has improved because nobody would be quibbling if far worse Bills teams beat the Pats*** in the same fashion previously. One thing I can’t ever agree with is the notion that a single play has ever won or lost any game. But that’s another discussion entirely.

The check and screen pass to Brown was reminiscent of the play he scored on in the season opener against the Jets.

He’s bigger than Milano at least.

Tua every pass attempt in case your interested

Yep. Burrow has been impressive. Poised beyond his years and seems to have a total grasp of what defenses are trying to do out there. -
I agree, the Steelers are for real. But the Ravens dominated their defense yesterday.

Justin Zimmer...most athletic DT in the past 15 years

I’m one of those who thinks arm length is imperative for DEs vs. the OTs in this league. Oliver’s are just too short and he’d be too easy to lock up out on the edge. He certainly possesses the athleticism, but it’s too easily negated on the outside, imo. -
I’m not predicting the Ravens to win anything. Flawed or not, they’re a good team and a tough out for most other teams in the league. They kicked the Steelers’ asses up and don’t the field yesterday and the Steelers are good in their own right. And everybody else is chasing the Chiefs at the moment.

As good a first step off the ball as you’ll see. Unfortunately, he possesses no anchor; zero, and is a liability on running downs. He’s strictly a situational player. -
People underestimate Lamar Jackson and the Ravens at their own peril.

I see 4-4 in the last eight and finishing at 10-6. Like last year. After the KC game and seeing more of an inability to stop the run, I didn’t see us winning the division. Beating NE*** changed that assessment, so I think that 10-6 should do it. Key word being should.
